Very good location, good wifi and parking right next to the building. Bus stop is also right in front of the building. The facilities are simple, but basic standard for japanese guest houses. There are recommendations and pamphlets available for what to do in Yakushima. Also the price is very fair.

New building, very clean, 2 showers and toilets per floor, great kitchen. We bought all our food at the supermarket and cooked it there. Plenty of washing machines and dryers including a shoe dryer machine. Staff was very friendly and nice to talk to (in Japanese) not sure how much English support there is but they are very friendly and check in and out is simple. Also located very close to the bus stops.

I stayed in the new building and it was really good. I slept on a futon but it’s super comfortable, the room was pretty big. It’s 20 minutes on foot from the port. You have 2 supermarkets around you and a lot of good restaurants near.

Laarni Japan

This hotel is designed as a mix between a ryokan and a hostel. It is new, perfectly clean, has all the necessary facilities (except an onsen, if one wants to compare to a traditional ryokan). We had a spacious room with AC and good futons on tatami. The kitchen/lounge is large and well-equipped for cooking and storing food, similar to hostels. Japanese-style furniture only (sitting on the floor), but hey, you are in Japan so embrace it. The owner is very nice, met us at his fishing store and drove his car in front of ours to show the path to the hotel which is a couple of minutes away, in a quiet neighborhood. The location is good, but may be awkward for those who wish to move by public transport or walking. It was fine for us since we rented a car

It's located in front of one of the bus stops in Miyanoura. It's very convenient to move around and close to the Miyanoura port and tourist information center. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, wide and clean. The receptionist was very kind and accommodating. I could do the check-in procedure earlier since I wanted to take the bus to do one of the trails. She showed me around and took my luggage to the room when it was ready. When I came back from the hike I could go straight to the room to rest and do my laundry.
