Fukuoka is a pleasant surprise, with lots of attractions and great dining within the city.A balanced mix of cultural and modern destinations . The city had a number of temples , museums, beautiful parks while boasting of modern attractions like the canal city fountain show , the E-Zo team lab, the Fukuoka tower viewing deck and seasonal display on its building facade, and the largest moving Gundam in Lalaport. Many shopping places too. Food choices are plentiful, from hakata ramen and traditional Japanese cuisine to international options like Italian, Mexican , American . Lastly, the many varieties of cherry blossoms and tulips in Ohori and maizuru parks made our visit even more memorable.

    Nice city.

Nice city. I'm a bit surprise that it's not overcrowded like another big cities in Japan that I've been to. Might not be the best place for shopping but it's about right to me. It's more local Japan to me. I see very few English signs. There are some nice attractions but I wouldn't plan a week long trip with just Fukuoka. There are other cities and attractions in Kyushu that should also be in the plan. You don't really need a car in Fukuoka. It's well covered by public transport but for Kyushu in general it'll help considerably if you like to drive though. If I'd plan again, I wouldn't drive the whole trip outside Fukuoka. I rather drive in some areas and travel between big cities with train. It make more sense and can cover more areas and attractions.

Loved Fukuoka, it's an underrated city. As long as you're not looking for a city like Kyoto with lots of traditional Japan, you'll find it to be a lively city with lots to do! The yatai's are a great way to experience food in Fukuoka!

It's not as busy as Tokyo or Osaka but is not lacking in places of interest and dining options. It's very easy to get around just as in other cities in Japan. The underground stations in Gion and Tenjin were a sight in itself. The interiors are not like typical train stations. There were intricately designed iron grills in the ceiling and there were lots of merchandise and food to check out. It was fun dining at a yatai stall. The owners were very friendly and one of them patiently explained to us the menu that did not have any English translation. The food was fresh and really tasty. One diner at the yatai stall who is a local suggested a good ramen place. It's Ganso Akanoren Setchan Ramen in Tenjin. She said Ichiran is expensive and "locals do not go there". There was a short queue when we got there around 11:30am the next day. We just waited for about 10 minutes to get a table. We were not disappointed with the food at all; taste and price wise. When we left at 12:30pm, there were about 20 people in line. It was unfortunate that the Fukuoka Castle Ruins was closed for some work to prepare the place for the Sakura Festival later this month so we did not see it. We visited the Kusida Shrine, Team Lab Forest, Sanrio Characters Dreaming attraction, Ohori Park, Canal City. We went on a day trip to Hiroshima to learn more about history and we came out more educated.

The location was perfect as the hotel is not very far from JR Hakata station and I could walk to Canal city easily as well (it was around 15-20 minutes walk) When I needed to go to the airport in early morning, I asked the staff to call a taxi for us and they are very helpful. The room is very spacious, have everything we needed, and the city view was stunning. All the amenities were at the lobby and they all have great quality. I truly recommend to stay here even though the price is a bit high. Everything was worth it!

I liked that the location of the hotel was not too near the busy and noisy area and yet it was near enough to Hakata Bus Station and Hakata Train Station. The breakfast was a simple selection but included the local speciality of Karashi Renkon. I enjoyed the Kyoho Grape cheesecake too! The staff were very helpful with ensuring that I could get a cab to the airport even though it was the day after a public holiday. The massage chair in the room was a lovely addition after all the walking on my trip too. Thank you!

Highly recommend this hotel !!! Although it’s a bit away from Hakata station, but there’re quite a few bus stops can easily access to public transport and famous spots. Cheap but super clean, Room is compact but pretty decent size in Japan. Facilities are great, got everything in the room, of you can get from reception floor . I have to especially give compliments to their shampoo + conditioner (^-^) very good quality , to me it is very important to have good shower goods especially for female travelers

The location in the lively Daimyo area of Fukuoka is my favorite thing about this hotel. There are shops and restaurants all around, and it's easy to get to the rest of Fukuoka and to Hakata Station and the airport. The hotel is comfortable, modern and has good amenities. I especially like the modern bathroom (with the toilet and the shower being in separate spaces). The rooms are not so big, but the layout makes them very usable. The staff was very nice and professional.

Perfect location between Hakata and Tenjin stations. You can use Exit 3 or 4 from Nakasu Kawabata station to walk 3 minutes to this hotel. Also Exit 4 is inside the Don Quijote building with an escalator compared to the stairs on Exit 3. You can walk 5 minutes to Fukuoka Shopping Center and access the overhead walkway to Canal City Mall and Kushida Shrine is also at the end of Fukuoka Shopping Center. Last but not least is the free welcome drink at the bar every night.

I was able to leave my luggage and come back later to check in at 3pm. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Loved it so much. It’s quiet, new and clean. It’s located in a good location, 3-5 mins walk to Hakata Station, 8-10 mins walk to Canal City. Staff are nice. Check-in is quite fast and check-out is a self service at kiosk. I didn’t make up room everyday but I got a new towel and bath-rope hanging in front of my door everyday. So thoughtful. I wanna stay in this hotel again if I came back to Fukuoka.

It’s about 7 mins walk from JR Tenjin Station and about 10 mins from Metro Tenjin St. (Fukuoka airport line). The room has main amenities, but the things like coffee, tea bags, or face wash/lotion/milk should be taken at the hotel lobby. But it’s widely spread tendency for most economy hotels now.
