Unfortunately I was thinking of another hotel when I did my initial review so I badly underscored this hotel. My apologies to Hotel GrandBach - it is an outstanding hotel worthy of a 10 and not the 7 I gave it. Beautiful hotel, modern, clean, wonderful atmosphere, great facilities, amazing onsen, live music, free snacks and beverages in the lounge, friendly and helpful staff, easy location - I can’t commend it more.

Sendai is a city that must be visited for several days. Because there are many places to visit.
The city center is modern and more has shopping.
Outside the city there are important historical sites.

Sendai is known as the City of Trees - and for good reason.
Sendai is known as the City of Trees - and for good reason. There's an insane amount of massively large and tall cedar trees everywhere! It's a very easily walkable city and if you need to go to parts beyond there's great transport links, either via the metro, overland train (JR), trams, or even the Sendai City Loople Bus - which takes you around to about a half dozen major attractions - think hop on / hop off.
Must see spots in Sendai are Rinnouji Temple, Zuihoden Mausoleum, Sendai Castle (Aoba Castle), and a little further out of the city (about an hour by train) is Yamadera Temple - not to be missed!
The city is centred around the massive train station in the centre of town and it does not disappoint. There's floors of shopping, restaurants, groceries, fancy food vendors, anything you could want. If you can't find anything in the labyrinthian corridors of the station, venture outside to the over 2500 restaurants and bars. I challenge you to not find something - anything - to satiate yourself with.

I absolutely adored Sendai and will visit again!
I absolutely adored Sendai and will visit again! The only problem that we had was the heat and humidity during the middle of September limited what we could do, but we made the most of our time at the Sendai train station-shopping!, the trees in the area were beautiful (I can see why they call it city of trees), we road the buses quite a bit (air conditioning) so we got to see quite a bit of the city, and made the most of the mall that was near the train station. Felt VERY SAFE there, the only con that I could say would be that unlike Tokyo, there were not to many people who spoke English but we expected that because our daughter works there, however she did most of the translating and figuring out the yen to buy things was actually quite easy, except for the coins. Navigating the trains was pretty easy, the people there knew some english and were quite helpful. It was a wonderful place to do it, very pretty and we will go again next year.

The city is beautiful and people are all extremly nice and helpful even through they don't speak English well. I loved it there, it felt like home. I wish I could have stayed longer. I really liked all the parks and temples and observatory view was amazing. We came during Tanabata festival so city centre was decorated and had live performers on the street. Yamadera temple is really good option for a one day trip near Sendai.
I love it, it should be 100 on a scale of 10 💯
Everything was really nice, the hotel is new and smells really nice as you enter the entrance on the 1st floor.
The lobby is located on the 7th floor, and there's a lounge time with some snacks for the room guests.
The room and the bed was really nice, new and super clean. The bathroom was really nice too.
There's also a convenient store right at the 1st floor of the hotel. The front staff was really nice to lend me their umbrella because it was raining really hard during my stay.
The hotel is centrally located in Sendai only a few hundred meters from the central train station, and a few blocked from the major shopping areas. We were able to find very good restaurant choices within easy walking distance. The hotel provides a coffee / hot chocolate machine, but it is only available between 2-7pm. All needed amenities are provided and the room was very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and held our baggage for a few hours both prior to check-in and following check-out.
Relaxing atmosphere and comfortable room. The desk for working with computer is spacious. The bathtub is larger than usual compared to other Japanese hotels.
Breakfast is ok. Wide type of amenities, and iron for free. Highly qualified staff.
Tenza Hotel is near the main train station of Sendai and also a subway stop. Perfect location for both a business trip or tourism. Very well connected to Tohoku University by subway. Many restaurants nearby, including one in the hotel.
Located about a 5 minute walk from JR Sendai Station, Almont Hotel Sendai is conveniently situated for exploration. The room was average size for the country and the accommodations were well cared for and clean.
The spa/onsen area was accessible and relaxing, a great way to unwind from the days travels. I did not have the breakfast but there was the option.
Check-out was simple with a digital kiosk, multiple languages were available.
As a first-time at a Capsule hotel, it was quite an interesting experience.
The beds were quite okay with a dimmable light and a socket outlet in the capsule.
A luggage locker outside of the sleeping area was provided.
The location was really convenient and within walking distance to the Sendai business district.
A gift card for use at a nearby Starbucks was provided for the breakfast option.
Very clean and spacious room. Bathroom is huge. The hotel can be accessed from JR Sendai by following the signs to the Sendai Subway and exit via West 1. It’s sheltered all the way and there are lifts as well. The hotel is directly connected to a Starbucks and 7-11 and located near many shops and restaurants.
A good sized room. Free toiletries and appliances. Super clean. The staff are lovely as well. The location is very close to the station and town centre.
To add some perspective, I’ve stayed I. Japan on 4 separate occasions and in 17 different hotels. For the money this is the best one. I highly rate it.
The room was huge for a Japanese hotel. The bathroom was phenomenal with the overhead rain style shower head. It was conveniently closer to a ton of restaurants and stores because it's connected to the train station. Parking was much cheaper than other places I've stayed in Sendai, which is a HUGE perk!
I often stay at the R&B hotel chain when I travel, because I like their light European-style breakfast which is included.
This Hotel in Sendai is close to the station (10 mins walking) and looked very clean respect to other hotels of the same chain I stayed in the past.
The Hotel is very accessible wherever you want to jam in the city and so close to Sendai station. I like the uniqueness of the property itself. Staff were very kind and hospitable. I’d love to come back again to enjoy the Spa next time. Thank you very much!
Superb location that is connected to the Sendai train station, surrounded by plenty of shops and F&B options. There is also a lounge on lobby level that is accessible by all hotel guests where there is a range of beverages available.
Excellent hotel, close to Sendai JR station about a 10 minute easy walk.
Super staff friendly and helpful, early bag drop off.
Super room, light and airy with a city view.
Brilliant laundry facilities using 100 yen coins.
Great location near the JR Sendai Station and the city shops, restaurants and other activities. Excellent staff and breakfast selection was good. A good, clean and comfortable hotel at all reasonable prices.
The hotel is conveniently located next to Sendai train station and the price is cheaper than other similarly located hotels nearby. Security is excellent and better then higher grade hotels.
Nice reasonable place to stay in Sendai city. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I stayed during the Sendai Tanabatta festival and the hotel was very near the festival location!
Hotel is convenient and near the JR Sendai station. Warm service and nice breakfast. Room is clean and so far I experienced no air conditioner or noise problem.
