There is a variety of slopes to enjoy snowboarding and the proximity of other resorts gives a lot of options. Due to it were not much fresh snow during the stay, a backcountry side is yet to be discovered in future.

The buses to get to other ski fields and around Happo One...
The buses to get to other ski fields and around Happo One are somewhat confusing but it seems that there are more buses than on the timetables so that is a bonus. Many lifts start at 8am, so ideally one would have breakfast at 6:30 so one could get an early bus, but may be a challenge finding accommodation that does this.

It’s a ski and snow lover paradise. A small town with not so much city vibe, but best for snow or ski experience. It’s the idyllic charm that stands out for me. Everything u need for snow and ski experience is available there, for rent or to buy.

Hakuba is great and very welcoming.
Hakuba is great and very welcoming. The people and food are amazing. The skiing was great given the snow levels were lower than normal. The only thing to keep in mind is the bus service, while convenient can get crowded and does not run as much as it maybe should. A car would definitely be a great asset to have.Gleason

Darren and his staff were friendly and helpful at all times, organising restaurant bookings and offering a ride to dinner if needed. We had a two-bedroom apartment for our family of four and it was well-equipped, clean and spacious. The location is peaceful and within walking distance from Happo One. The bath came in handy after a long day skiing :) The drying room downstairs was much appreciated too!

In particular, the younger gentleman working the ski rental facility was able to answer all of our questions and ensured we had what we needed for a great day on the slopes at Happo One. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Having access to an onsen on property also made recovery after day on slopes worth it. Drying room for ski equipment was welcomed. Speaking of slopes, Happo One is a 10 ish minute walk. They cook up amazing breakfasts that change every day and they are willing to go the extra mile and shuttle you to and from the nearby Tsugaike ski resort. The rooms are generously sized for Japanese standards and are clean and comfortable. I would recommend anyone wanting a ski holiday in Hakuba to stay at Summer Leaves.

The host is very polite and helpful, check-in and check-out were very easy.

I loved it and stayed for 10 nights with plans to return next year, Very reasonably priced and very central. You could very easily walk to Happo One.

However you would need to buy the ski ticket in advance at the ticket office because the chair lift station did not provide sales of ski passes.
