There is a variety of slopes to enjoy snowboarding and the proximity of other resorts gives a lot of options.
Due to it were not much fresh snow during the stay, a backcountry side is yet to be discovered in future.

Good skiing with everything you need within close proximity.
Good skiing with everything you need within close proximity. However, if you are looking for an authentic Japanese exeprience, you are not going to find it in Hakuba. There are a lot of foreigners and many of the establishment workers are foreigners as well.

The buses to get to other ski fields and around Happo One...
The buses to get to other ski fields and around Happo One are somewhat confusing but it seems that there are more buses than on the timetables so that is a bonus. Many lifts start at 8am, so ideally one would have breakfast at 6:30 so one could get an early bus, but may be a challenge finding accommodation that does this.

It’s a ski and snow lover paradise.
It’s a ski and snow lover paradise. A small town with not so much city vibe, but best for snow or ski experience. It’s the idyllic charm that stands out for me. Everything u need for snow and ski experience is available there, for rent or to buy.

Snow was great, the town was very cute.
Snow was great, the town was very cute. Most of all, it wasn't that busy and lift have good space. Plenty of slops to choose from, and great restaurants, shops to go around after ski. Especially onsen was one of the great thing to add after the ski!

Hakuba is great and very welcoming.
Hakuba is great and very welcoming. The people and food are amazing. The skiing was great given the snow levels were lower than normal. The only thing to keep in mind is the bus service, while convenient can get crowded and does not run as much as it maybe should. A car would definitely be a great asset to have.
The staff were the highlight. They were very kind to each person at the hostel, and kept a super clean environment. I felt super cared for and had some nice conversations with both Toshi and his wife. Toshi and his wife both spoke to me in easy Japanese because they knew I wanted to practice. They could teach a course in Omotenashi.
I will definitely stay here again if snowboarding in Hakuba. I ended up riding on other slopes in Hakuba valley (which were easy to access), but the hostel is also very close to Hakuba Goryu.
Loved being able to cook our own meals and having the extra space to spread out all our gear. Having a washing machine for the week while at the snow was wonderful. Facilities weren’t the most modern, but it was clean, worked and was kept well. Vouchers for onsen were great. Buses stopped at nearby Mominoki or Tokyo hotel and it was a short walk to Kokusai chairlift for Happo One ski area. Good coffee and rental/gear at Rhythm nearby. Favourite dinner location was a little diner run by an elderly couple - Hakuba70.
The place is an old charming Japanese house with a very warm family atmosphere. The house is more spacious and beautiful than looks in the pictures, and it is very well equipped - you can easily use kitchen with all necessary appliances, washing machine, hair dryer, etc.
The location is superb - very close to Hakuba station, a big supermarket, onsen, coffee shop / Snow Peak.
The host is very polite and helpful, check-in and check-out were very easy.
Staff were super accomodating and friendly. Location is excellent (ski in ski out). Accommodation was comfortable, warm and breakfast was sufficient for me and my family to have us all energised for a day on the mountain.
Would definitely choose petit hotel again when staying in Hukabu.
Also one of my sons left a pair of his shoes behind and staff have been super helpful in arranging to returning them to us via post.
My partner and I stayed in the Japanese style room. It was very spacious and welcoming. It’s a great hotel to stay at if you’re snowboarding skiing as they have storage facilities. We loved the private onsen and booked it most nights. The view of the mountains from our window was particularly magical. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We were sad to leave. Thank you Hakuba Hotel Ougiya!
All the staff were exceptional, very happy and accommodating, nothing was a problem, more than keen to assist with transfers & bookings.
Great location, very central.
The hotel provides transfers to Hakuba Group restaurants & Happo One Ski Resort, so convenient.
We stayed in a Family room which is perfect for a family of 4, very spacious & well layed out.
Definitely will be back 👌🏻
Sejour Mint was by far the most hospitable and welcoming hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff were all the loveliest people and were really accommodating to any needs. They also provided help for dietary requirements and were very thoughtful. The location is also perfectly situated next to Goryu ski resort. The rooms were also cozy and homey. I highly recommend this hotel to anybody.
Great location. The bus stop for Hakuba 47, Goryu and Iimori is right in front, Central Sports is across the road, lion rental next door and you are right on the echoland strip making it very easy to walk to many restaurants, convenience store and shops.
Owners (staff) were amazing. They were very helpful and it truly felt like you were staying at a family friend's place.
Very pleasant experience staying at Takumi san’s house. They offer pick up service at bus stations and ski resorts. There is a free snacks bar with different wines and juice. We also had a free sushi dinner at first night. We really like the room, clean and sweet, also enjoy the Japanese bathtub after back from skateboarding. You will love the Takumi family!
Our host Chris was the most helpful host we ever had. He assisted us if we had any problems, showed us the best onsens, helped us to get around Hakuba whatever the time, fixed us the necessary equipment to go backcountry skiing and so on... He even took us for a morning ride in the backcountry of Happo One.
Definitely THE most helpful host and person!!
very nice pension close to the Hakuba Goryu ski resort with good connection to other ski resorts in Hakuba area. accomodation was very clean and well furnished. very kind hosts who were helpful in getting us the equipment for the skiing amd also gave us the ride to the train station. nice experience altogether
Central to the Hakuba Happo One Village and the Happo One Bus Terminal is about 3 mins walk. Lots of skill resorts buses pass through this area. Lots of highly rated eateries around the hotel. Hotel is very homely and staff is friendly and helpful. We had half board during our stay and the food was delicious.
Super clean, warm and lovely place to stay when you are in Hakuba.
Hosts are very helpful and friendly.
The location is also perfect that shuttle bus to Goryo stops just in front of the hotel, and less than 10 mins walk to Base Camp where takes you to more other Ski areas.
Amazing location, in the heart of Echoland near restaurants and rentals, free shuttles to ski resorts right outside. Convenient heated gear room for storing skis, board, and wet gear. Friendly staff. Was able to send equipment ahead via Yamato, very convenient
The staff are so amazing and friendly. Always happy to help when we had any questions. The lodge is also located very conveniently to the ski slopes and food restaurants. It is also easy access to shuttle buses to the other ski resorts in Hakuba.
Spacious room. Useful amenities : big ski / snowboard locker room & laundry room. Helpful staff. Onsen. Easy access to bus stops for free shuttle to Iimori Resort / Hakuba 47 (in fact at hotel porch) and Happo One (few mins walk).
Located right next to the Hakuba Goryu slopes, so you can literally ski in & out. The excellent service by hotel manager Marcos made our stay very comfortable. The room had everything we needed, incl. fully supplied kitchen.
Amazing Hotel with excellent delivery to and from the ski lifts at Happo One and Iwatake each day.
The breakfast menu was great and the room size was very good.
The in-house Onsen was very clean and relaxing.
Ski in ski out to Happo One
Great service from staff
Bernd and Naoko san were amazing and talked to all guests
The restaurant in the hotel was nice and served good food (both breakfast and dinner)
