The information on Booking.com about Malindi is an accurate representation of what I found on site. I visited the following places:
Galana Shopping Centre
Vasco da Gama Pillar
Portuguese Chapel
Malindi Marine National Park.
I occasionally ate out from a wide range of restaurants in the city centre. It was quite easy to move around Malindi and I currently have no experience of places to avoid while in Malindi.

Laid back lifestyle, great beaches, wonderful Italian pizzas. Vasco Da Gama pillar and Portuguese chapel are right there. Museums need updating. Not a huge amount to do in Malindi but if you want to get out and about, Hell's Kitchen in Marafa is worth visiting. It is a mini mini Grand Canyon. Karibuni villas in Mambrui is also nice - clearest sea water you ever saw.

The marine park was the exception as we enjoyed the island and the exploration of different types of fish in the deep sea.
Watamu beach was a wonderful place as we enjoyed swimming and being in the sand.
We visited the Vasco da Gama pillar and the Portuguese chapel where we even had a prayer session as a family. The tour guide was much informed about the history.
We cooked our own food and enjoyed fresh seafood
With our own vehicle, it was easy to move around very fast.
Unfortunately, we missed experiencing the sunset at Mida creek
I would avoid having fewer days of stay.
The staff was amazing! The manager and Owner as well. Friendly and just felt like family.
The pool was clean and deep(3m).
The beach is next to the apartment/hotel.
Every weekend there would be something happening. Ie DJ and band.
Vasco de Gama was close by. Swahili dishes restaurant and Pizzerias near by. Made daily life easier.
It was so great I stayed here from Dec till Jan! For three weeks! Sarah, Martin, Fiona and the rest of the team, Thank you for a great stay!
I like Malindi in general. But the fact that this is set within the same compound as Ocean Beach is the first big plus for me. I travelled alone but still got the group feeling by hanging by the pool area with other tourists. I had dinner on occasion in the hotel, which was quite convenient. Transport is there on demand. The town is literally 5 minutes away for AOBs. And the first floor setting gave me such a beautiful view of the compound. Great for solo and group travels.
The location was really nice with access to the beach of Malindi (subject to tide)
The staff at the restaurant and at the reception was kind and helpful
Breakfast and main dishes were okay with good variety
The gala dinner on saturday evening was a good surprise
The room was clean and big
Diving centre staff
Everything, the big space in the main room. Spacious and clean bathroom an adequate kitchen for at least making breakfast, we didn’t cook. The patio with the breeze and view of the sea and the proximity to our favourite beach restaurant in Malindi. This place is perfect and we will definitely be back.
Unbelievable value for money, beautiful villa with outdoor area, well stocked kitchen, good wifi with netflix, massive comfortable bed.
Short walk to supermarket.
Had a small issue but was resolved immediately.
Highly recommend, one of our favourite stays in Kenya!
I didnt bother having breakfast-it was overpriced for a Kenyan hotel during low season to charge $12 per person for breakfast when across the road by a beach hotel with a great sea view one can get a coffee and chocolate croissant for less than $5.
the excellent view, super gracious host, lovely location, private access to the beach which is a stone throw away. Great bed, many chill-out options. Fridge and microwave available. I will be raving about it to friends.
The place is just awesome, everything from the rooms, compound, swimming pool and the beach view. The host Lucio was soo welcoming and friendly. Can't wait to go back once I am back in malindi.
Nice room and pool, right on the beach. Beach area clean and not crowded when we went in August. Provided menus for restaurants to deliver to room. Fridge, kettle, microwave in the room.
Great location for relaxing peace and quiet. Loved the pool . Close to beaches and not far from town centre if you want to explore. Felt very safe a solo traveller.
We had a very nice staying at Kenyan House. The house is amazing and we felt like at home. Highly recommended. The staff is very welcoming and helpful.
