Great port town with a large estuary/lagoon harbour and wonderful beaches on the amazingly long coastal Curonian Spit and Curonian Lagoon – Klaipėda is at the northern tip. There's plenty of interesting history and architecture in the center, and short ferry rides across the channel to the forested Curonian Spit for beaches, long walks, cycle rides or tramping, as well as the same (without the Spit) north of Klaipėda. Palanga, just 30 - 40 minutes north is also interesting, with forest belt and beaches along the coast and a spa facility nearby (be prepared for large crowds during the summer holidays). Plenty of shopping malls and beautiful parks in Klaipėda too, and the council is adding more improvements/facilities constantly.

Best time to visit is during summer and early autumn while temperatures are warmer. Cash and visa/mastercards are accepted widely. Bring any kind of jacket and umbrella because it's coastal city.

Klaipeda is nice beautiful town that has a very interesting combination of architectural styles in it: at one point, you see an old building of around 19th century and then you turn around and see a port with huge modern constructions. Air there is fantastic: you literally brief the sea. The greatest part was that it took less than an hour to get to the Courish spit whose sea side and sand dunes cannot leave you unimpressed!

Klaipeda is a wonderful port, beach, resort and vacation city. Here you can find entertainment for every taste - bars, coffee houses, parks, beaches, promenades, sculptures and interesting architecture with a German taste. You can go to the Curonian Spit, where you can get lost on the endless beach, visit interesting museums, walk through the forests, have a barbecue, and also appreciate the beauty of the sand dunes by going on a trip along the winding eco-trails. It remains only to follow the vagaries of the weather and not to lose the excellent mood.

OK, so the list of options to select is too limiting when it comes to visiting Klaipeda region and the possibilities of what to do.
I first visited Klaipeda in 2005 and I have to say as someone who loves travel, nature, restaurants, wine and cocktail bars, café culture, art. Klaipeda Has come so so far.
There is something to do for everyone. I used to cycle a lot; there are kilometers of cycle and hiking routes through some fantastic bio-diverse forests.
I once saw thousands of swans on the Curonian water channel.
Beautiful sandy beaches that stretch for kilometers.
A wonderful outdoor, free, sculpture park that you could spend the afternoon in, surrounded by trees, in the middle of the city.
So much to do here. Love it.

A beautiful port city with its own face.
A beautiful port city with its own face. Impressive old town and preserved heritage. Modern maritime museum and dolphinarium. Interesting Klaipėda city museum. It's nice to take a walk along the river bank in the evening.
Amazing hotel! Very good location!
What I loved about the hotel that every detail is very good quality.
Great spa area, nice roof top bar for evening drink and snacks, good food in hotel's restaurant, really enjoyed comfortable bed and bedlinen.
Hotel was very flexible with all additional arrangements - like extra bed for a child in the room. Extra bonus that hotel is pet friendly and we had great stay with out pet. Highly recommended for a stay in Klaipeda and will defintely come back next time.
Dange Hotel was far more convenient and modern hotel than we expected.
It is a very lovely, modern and well equipped hotel. The location was OK, just a short stroll to the heart of Klaipeda.
Arriving by car you can´t be sure whether you can park on their car park or not. However, as the street is not the busiest, and it is permitted to park on the street in front of the hotel, everyone can find a place to their car.
The apartment was newly renovated, everything is almost brand new - bathroom, shower, kitchen furniture. There's fridge, stove, microwave, Android tv. Really comfy beds and mattresses, which is rarely the case. The little trouble upon arrival was solved in a few minutes. The parking area is near the hotel and is closed via gate. All locks are electronic, details received via sms, so no hassle and no problems.
It was the worsest hotel ever..
Super duty super ugly and last time renovation was done like 25 years ago. Video that they can send you and I would like to claim money back it didn't work I think on the website it was 70 euros and booking made a discount. I really disappointed and I wouldn't pay a penny for that hotel it's not definitely three star it's one star but also it's ugly old and dirty.
We loved the apartment and a patio it came with. It was lovely to relax on it in the evenings with some drinks. The kitchenette had everything one could possibly need, including pans and pots, a mini fridge, a hob, a kettle, cutlery and plates/cups. The hotel itself is a 10 min walk away from the ferry that takes you to Klaipeda.
Without doubt the most perfect place I’ve stayed in Lithuania. The owner has an impeccable sense of interior decor and it was super cozy. And with 30+ c temps in Klaipeda, the air conditioning system was a real savior (and surprisingly quiet). Awesome place, awesome find!!! I’ll be back!!
The front desk manager made sure we get the proper room for 2 adults and a 4 year old which made our stay very comfortable. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good. Restaurant next door is connected to the hotel (no need to get outside in a cold snowy day).
We stayed for one week (attending our son’s wedding), and loved the apartment. Very clean and comfortable, and a great location in Klaipeda Old Town, but also as a base for exploring west Lithuania. Very friendly and helpful owner too!!
Room was quite, but that's probably just a luck, because there was no hard working with trains outside. Bed comfy. Amazing view from window. Also very great location if need a ferry next morning. Nice that hotel parking is free.
The place is awesome. You don't need to use a ferry 2 times a day to reach out for one of the best beaches in Lithuania. You just live there. 2 minutes to to the seafront. Very good Wi-Fi. Separate entrance to 4-bed apartments.
The hotel looked great from the outside and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location in the city - easy to reach train/bus station as well as Klaipeda's Old Town.
The location was great! Close to the city center. The breakfast was good. I especially loved that there was no noise in the hotel, which allowed me to get a good night sleep.
Aparthotel Stora Antis is a well-appointed apartment with lovely (antique) furnishings, hardwood floors, and plenty of space in an iconic building in Old Town.
