Very interesting city, with both old medieval/Baroque city center, but also with a newer one from the 20s and 30s if 20th century, with lots of modernist architecture (UNESCO listed) The city is doing a lot in order to renovate, major sights are already in great shape.

What a beautiful city, clean, safe, spacious, green (by this I mean lots of trees and open spaces AND green initiatives like trolley buses, pedestrian spaces and robot mowers!).
Really interesting architecture (beautiful central domed cathedral and period architecture buildings), street scenes and cafe culture. Longest shopping street in Europe! Euro currency. A safe, family feel. Great Bolt taxi service and good choice of hotels and restaurants. Lots of cafes, bars and pubs. Good for couples, families and friends. I really loved it. I’m told it is very Lithuanian, which would be great praise for the country. It should have been higher up my travel list. We came from the UK for the Nord Orthopaedic clinic (VERY EXCELLENT) but will be back for holidays. Nice straight talking locals with excellent English language. Its really easy. Also a great, modern, close airport. All good.

Kaunas is our native city - we love everything about it, especially since we don't live here and come to visit just every now and then.
Favorite places: Laisves Aleja (the main walking street) full of cute outdoor cafes and the Old Town - ancient yet well looked after, with all its galleries and old buildings.
Almost any cafe is good - you find European cuisine, fusion, native Lithuanian. Good coffee and exquisite pastries everywhere.
The Akropolis shopping mall is good for shopping (the sales are REAL SALES), eating out, and buying food/drinks in the Maxima supermarket on the ground floor. A unique 'kepyklele' (bakery) by its entrance!
Kaunas has two theatres (drama and musical), a very good philharmonic hall, the Zalgiris Arena stadium, and there is always something very cultural going on.

It was a good choice to take the apartment instead of the hotel room. It has kitchen, microwave. The apartment is extra spacious. I will stay here next time with my 2 children. I loved the fact that the apartment is in the inner very quite yard though right in the city centre. The location was excellent, Laura was always available answering my questions and I had a very cosy stay. Thank you :)! Labai aciu :)
Vonderfull location, panoramic wiews to the Neris river and Kaunas suburbs, quite place among old and small Kaunas buildings ( before the World War II it was a slums and place for dwellers with nio money:) Now its atractive district close to the city center - 20 minutes or so by foot, 7 minutes to bus or trains stations by taxi or "Bolt" (4 Euro only). Hotel family owned - nive staff and owner.
I stayed one night and got a bright, spacious and very clean room with two big windows and all (and plus) the amenities of an hotel room. Easy communication and very clear instructions for self checkin. Nice location, less than 15m to bus station, in the city centre (near to the modernist buildings that I was looking for), close to a park and a big shopping centre.
A very good hotel with a great location next to the high street. Large comfortable room with pleasant interior, comfortable bed. Large, modern bathroom. Very clean and well maintained. Polite and caring staff - they provided me with a map of the city and recommended interesting places to visit.
- Delicious breakfast (buffet) for reasonable price.
- A baby cot.
- An opportunity to stay with a cat.
- Good location in the centre of the city.
- Reasonable price.
- Free parking close to the hotel.
Overall, 2 adults, 1 baby and 1 cat were happy to stay in this hotel. :)
The hotel is very modern, the room was quite big for a city hotel. The breakfast was great, and you got a welcome drink at the bar. You could easily walk to the city center. There is also car parking availabe.
Nice hotel, everything as expected. Lovely gesture from hotel's side - a glass of champagne on New Years eve.
Location not far from city center and Kaunas Arena, just a few minutes drive.
Small hotel next to the city centre in Kaunas. There is mostly no staff, but you are well informed how to enter your room. Clean and comfortable rooms, good WIFI !
The bed was very comfortable, everything was very clean, laisves aleja was very close to the hotel that was nice, i liked that the tv had free go3 to watch
