This is a hotel where the time stopped 60 years ago. But in a good sense, it is not very worn down but everthing looks pretty much like the 1960's. Quite nice as a change. And a nice bar! A fantastic view from some rooms. Easy to reach by bus from the station.

The hotel room was amazing, with an exceptional view. The hotel is decorated in a classical style and has this wonderful feel of being in a time capsule like travelling back in time. But in these days of everything neon and flash that gave off a really homey feel, it's very beautiful and some of the details are just stunning. The staff were wonderful with a special mention for those at breakfast. We are Portuguese and it was very sweet of many of the staff to welcome us in our language.

Everithing was great, clean big room with a small balcony, location was perfect for what I needed (central upper town), 5 min walk to the tram station Hamilius. Great ambience in/to the hotel restaurant. I liked the old style elevator, which seamed to be available all the time (guests probably use more the newer, more familiar, ones).

We enjoyed the “faded grandeur” and olde worlde elements that make this a much more charming choice than many. Excellent ( & very affordable ) breakfast in a great old dining room - do choose it, if only for this. Very comfortable bed, pleasant staff and a great location.

The older facade and the quaint interior were charming however I am quite particular about the cleanliness of the space I sleep in in a hotel. This was an absolute pleasure. The room was immaculate. All except the curtains. The beds the bathrooms. Older models and yet comfortable and most importantly, clean. I have already recommended this stay to my social contacts. Thank you to the cleaning lady that we met and to the man at reception. Their kindness and informative support were greatly appreciated.

The location is great - accesible by public transport and just a step away from all the sights. The hotel has an old-fashioned feeling about it, which I liked. I was staying in two different rooms, and the second one had a really beautiful view of the square and the valley. The room was very clean, with all the necessary additions like a water heater. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Our room was very spacious, especially considering how central the hotel's location is. Breakfast was decent - I particularly enjoyed the large selection of teas.
