Asilah is a good place to get away from the big town of Tangier, to which it is connected by bus and train. I didn't find it spectacular but it has a relaxed atmosphere and it is extremely easy to get around. The houses of the old medina are renovated and it's streets are pretty large and not crowded with the stalls of the merchants. White is the dominant colour, bordered by blue and green, and occasionally punctuated by some murals.
There are many artists' but very few craftsmen 's workshops. It has some not very clean beaches and an old Jewish cemetery by the coast, out of the medina. The people were, generally speaking, friendly and welcoming.

I have been many many times in the last 37 years and it never fails to impress, plenty to do for a long weekend, easily accessible from Tangiers by train or taxi (approx 200mdh), very safe, lovely people, new marina being built , probably best to stay outside the marina as it might be noisy at night, plenty of affordable accommodation in the area, great choice of eateries, shops and hammams, car not necessary

It is a quiet little town with a history of Portuguese occupation. The Medina is small and clean and many artists live here. There is a mural festival every year. Plenty of fish restaurants and a market street. Not a party town.

The medina was very clean.
The medina was very clean. We watched the sunset from Cafe Derya, which was beautiful. The Medina lets its white walls painted by artists every July, that was interesting. Nice restaurants. We visited Paradise beach on the day we left, but its definetely one of the best beaches in Morocco. The access road is easier by 4x4. But if you want a beach, that's the one to go for, with plenty of small restaurants.

Asiilah is a small town/city off the main tourist track.
Asiilah is a small town/city off the main tourist track. I was looking for an "authentic" Moroccan urban experience and Asilah was perfect for that. The hustlers were to a minimum, the markets, shops and street vendors had a wide supply of offerings. The produce sold on the street was of the most beautiful colors and freshness. The shopping I did was without pressure and fun. Asilah should be seen if you are nearby and stay at the Riad Oasis D'Asilah when there
My second year in this property and I really appreciate the consistency of its good service. You won’t be wrong about choosing Residence Puerto Marina for your next holiday vacation in the beautiful Asilah. This property facing the ocean and few steps away from the medina (old town), has self contained, super clean and affordable apartments hard to find in the area. The couple in charge of the management of this property is very accommodating, doing what ever they can to make you feel happy, safe and comfortable.
Maison Berbari is a perfect pit stop to visit Asilah. The rooms are simple but elegant and comfortable and the whole decor is unpretentious, cool and authentic. The staff is dedicated and helpful and does everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Expect a great welcoming from Othman who will tell you all you need about the place and surroundings and exceptional home made meals (including a wide variety breakfast) made with quality ingredients, knowledge and love by the resident chef.
The location is excellent, 50 feet from a breakwater bay and a few blocks walk to the Medina. Check-in is possible 24 hours/day. Parking was available right in front of the hotel. We had a seaview apartment with a great views from both bedrooms and the balcony. Nearby were some nice restaurants. Breakfast could be eaten in the 1st floor hotel restaurant or delivered to the apartment (if not too early) and was very good.
We liked the breakfast, the stuff were very nice and helpful, they carried the bags, called a cab for us , room service was exceptional , the hotel was calm . Its location is very good with a great view on the beach , close to all the facilities that you might need, has great restaurants nearby, it also has many conversation areas( living rooms, couchs in reception area..)... ,I highly recommand this hotel .
Very good location close to the beach and to the medina, but also very quiet.
Private parking was also nice and easy.
Yassine was very helpfull.
The facilities were so good, it was great to have a washing machine, a good shower, a television and a kitchen. The (very large) bed is super comfortable.
We enjoyed exploring Asilah and Larache (less touristic).
High quality Riad. More expensive than I'm used to in Morocco but high standard. Very comfortable room, very helpful and multilingual staff. On booking it is Hotel Al Alba but when you arrive the sign says Riad Al Alba. Parking just outside for my van. Very extensive breakfast.
We had a really big apartment (with a kitchen and bathroom). Everything was very clean. The staff was very helpful. They ordered for us a taxi to the airport (in better price than taxi drivers offered us on the streets). This hotel is close to mosque which was advantage for us.
The manager who has been running this hotel for 13+ years is a very friendly, honest and helpful guy. My phone died and he took me to 5 stores in an attempt to buy a new charger. He gave us a lot of tips, free tea and made sure that we were enjoying our stay at the hotel.
Amazing stay , very clean hotel , location is great and accessible , parking space available in front of the hotel. staff were amazing and very friendly , we were offered a fresh and delcious breakfast. I would definetly stay again and I highly recommend it .
Wonderfully quiet, lovely riad. Ashraf was incredibly friendly and helpful, helping with recommendations and advice with a great deal of care for my experience and Asilah’s reputation. A great place to start a trip to Morocco.
The hotel was exquisitely beautiful. The decks with plants the beautiful furnishings and old doors were so beautiful the staff was fantastic, the food was delicious the room, the bedding, the bathrooms all were top-notch.
Efficient stay in a beautiful Asilah.
One of the top 3 stay in our 15 days road trip in Morocco.
Great city, hotel stuff, people.
In Asilah you can really relax.
Muhammad was a warm and genuine man. The riad in general was top notch. Definitely, recommended, for comfortable stay in Asilah.
