Asilah is a good place to get away from the big town of Tangier, to which it is connected by bus and train. I didn't find it spectacular but it has a relaxed atmosphere and it is extremely easy to get around. The houses of the old medina are renovated and it's streets are pretty large and not crowded with the stalls of the merchants. White is the dominant colour, bordered by blue and green, and occasionally punctuated by some murals. There are many artists' but very few craftsmen 's workshops. It has some not very clean beaches and an old Jewish cemetery by the coast, out of the medina. The people were, generally speaking, friendly and welcoming.

I have been many many times in the last 37 years and it never fails to impress, plenty to do for a long weekend, easily accessible from Tangiers by train or taxi (approx 200mdh), very safe, lovely people, new marina being built , probably best to stay outside the marina as it might be noisy at night, plenty of affordable accommodation in the area, great choice of eateries, shops and hammams, car not necessary

It is a quiet little town with a history of Portuguese occupation. The Medina is small and clean and many artists live here. There is a mural festival every year. Plenty of fish restaurants and a market street. Not a party town.

    The medina was very clean.

The medina was very clean. We watched the sunset from Cafe Derya, which was beautiful. The Medina lets its white walls painted by artists every July, that was interesting. Nice restaurants. We visited Paradise beach on the day we left, but its definetely one of the best beaches in Morocco. The access road is easier by 4x4. But if you want a beach, that's the one to go for, with plenty of small restaurants.

Asiilah is a small town/city off the main tourist track.

Asiilah is a small town/city off the main tourist track. I was looking for an "authentic" Moroccan urban experience and Asilah was perfect for that. The hustlers were to a minimum, the markets, shops and street vendors had a wide supply of offerings. The produce sold on the street was of the most beautiful colors and freshness. The shopping I did was without pressure and fun. Asilah should be seen if you are nearby and stay at the Riad Oasis D'Asilah when there

Nice and spacious apartment in Asilah. Seems like the staff made improvements, I did not see the clutter in the washing machine and terrace area, that other reviewers mentioned. Kitchen was fine, I cooked a couple of meals. Shower drained without issues. Hot water was good. Clean and modern apartment. Neighborhood seemd safe, next to a school. Just a couple of blocks is a street market and lots of stores. A perfectly fine stay in this town.

Amazingly new and comfortable Moroccon style room with quite a few windows and lighting sufficient, which is usually not the case in the accomodation at other cities. Friendly and cheerful staff. Common area is cozy and comfortable too. Air con is available so good choice for summer vacation too. Best accomodation I had in my 9-day Morocco trip

    (1) The owner speaks fluent English and was very welcoming. (2) There was safe and convenient parking for our car in the street next to the hotel and it was monitored by video. (3) Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It wasn't a large room but was fine for a short stay. (4) We enjoyed the breakfast.

We had a really big apartment (with a kitchen and bathroom). Everything was very clean. The staff was very helpful. They ordered for us a taxi to the airport (in better price than taxi drivers offered us on the streets). This hotel is close to mosque which was advantage for us.

The view of the terrace is beautiful. Has 3 bedrooms with 3 separate bathrooms, all big enough for 2 people and all well maintained. The neighborhood is so calm and house is in a good location near to Asilah beach and right in the Medina. I definitely recommend the place.

The house was so delightful; absolutely every best thing about home. Then add the most awesome and sweet maid and cook. I wished I'd gotten the name of the woman that was there to clean and make breakfast. She was a most definite treasure.

Morocco is well known for its hospitality. But Malika, Mehdi, and the staff at Riad Oasis d'Asilah went a lot further than expected in their care and attention to detail, to make our stay in their beautiful house truly memorable.
