The location was great, near beaches, a ten minute walk to old Ulcinj, which we did several times, day and night. We drove, but found no need to use our car. The place was lovely, inside and out. They had a beautiful pool, and a great breakfast spread served right by it. All the staff from cleaners to concierge were super friendly and helpful. I think Michael (?) helped with luggage and breakfast. Idina was there for us at the front desk helping with everything, including luggage. The restaurant across the street was very good since our first night we wanted something very close. I highly recommend this place

We stayed in the amazing Stari Grad, a rabbit warren of an ancient citadel. Parking is tricky. You either leave your car below Stari Grad, down by the beach and walk up 300 stone steps or find a parking space at the exit of it. Luggage has to be carried to it.
There are plenty of restaurants in Stari Grad, but no shops, so you have to walk to those and then carry the shopping back. Plenty of shopping facilities and markets in the main town. Lovely beach (300 steps down and then up again). Fabulous place, but you have to be able to walk on steps and hills.

We stayed for 4 nights and we had a rental car as it would have been difficult to be without a car in this area. I would say that most people were using the place as a short stop over on their travels. For eating out I’d recommend La Tavola great food and descent portions at a very good price.

The old town is inferior to other cities in Montenegro.
The old town is inferior to other cities in Montenegro. Velika beach is gorgeous. I advise you to go there immediately. The city itself along the way is quite dirty and dilapidated. This may leave a negative impression.

Ulcinj is our favorite place to spend a few days of vacation.
During summer it is very populated by many tourists.
The beautiful beach and the special cuisine make it an enviable and favorite place.
I can mention "La tavola" restaurant for very delicious dishes.
But you can also find fast and very tasty food in bakery shops, such as: pies, pizzas, croissants, very characteristic yogurt of the country.
People are very kind and friendly.

We lived in the perifery of the town, on the Rruga 14, beside the R-22, whis is full of bakeries and stands with fruits and vegetables. There is a big traffic jam every evening on R-22, as everybody returns from the beaches to the town through only one street.

Well, I suppose that the experience with Ulcinj can vary a lot depending on the time of the year you visit. Summer months visit I would avoid for the future, foremost due to disastrous traffic jams all across the Jadranska magistrala. 120 km we drove 4 hours 30 minutes. Ulcinj itselves is otherwise good located to travel to Podgorica, to the Fortress in Albanian nearest city Skhadar, to the lake Shkadar. Plenty of shops in Ulcinj, hypermarket quality is varying. Idea,Voli, Franca are OK, Solaris sometimes gives a dirty impression. Ulcinj city center overcrowded, main beach dirty mostly by loads of cigarette rests thrown in sand, and on left side big pipe, that probably sometimes brings waste water directly to sea.
Velika Plaža nice regarding sand, but plenty of garbage all around. Even wreck of old Renault Twingo on the beach. However, due to shallow sea, good for children, and compared to many other beaches seen in MNE, this one seems to be the best one.
Due to some acute footfinger problem I had to visit local hospital, that was a nice surprise, as no queues, skilled professional english speaking doctor, and although prescribed antibiotics were old 1st generation, worked all well.
Prices in MNE in shops are not anymore cheap, compared to my homecountry Czech Republic were almost the same, sometimes even higher. On the other way, local bakeries "Pekara" have good tasty assortment and for cheap prices.
Due to very hot weather going to 40 degrees, when you book, book appartment with own pool - absolutely worth invested surplus money.
For everyone I recomanded this place for everything. Starting from host , place in the midle to the beach and old city ,breakfast was so good I dont have a words to explain better than in many star hotels ! Cleanliness more than grade 10 .
I go to Ulcinj two or three times during the seasons for 35 years but the place that has left a good impression on me and my family is the Guest House Pasha . I will definitely always be back there
THANK YOU HOSTS FOR EVRYTHING !!!
My husband and I had a lovely stay in guest house Vera! The place is run by a really nice couple who also lives there, so it had a personal touch with great service. The breakfast was good, and the hotel is located in a nice quarter, slightly away from all the touristy areas of Ulcinj, so it was a more authentic experience. Good grocery shopping options nearby, including a local market with organic homegrown produce, and less than 15 mins to the Old Town on foot!
The hotel has a perfect location, just few minutes from the Velika plaza Ulcinj with enough parking spaces.
The room is spacious, new and modernly equipped. On the ground floor there is a restaurant with delicious food. Breakfast included in the room rate was a la carte.
The hotel host and other staff were very kind and willing to help with everything.
Definitely our choice for every future arrival to Ulcinj.
Very good place! Perfect for rest all around the year. Very hospitable and attentive host, clean and cozy room, perfect hotel spa center with sauna, pool and very wide jakuzzi that works from early morning till late evening, delicious breakfast. Everything was 10 of 10!!! Thanks a lot for this vacation! Top recommendations. We’ll come again for sure ❤️
The view from the room was absolutely incredible!! Almost a full 180 degrees uninterrupted of the ocean. The stay is located in the old town, which in Ulcinj is not the main area to explore, so it is very quiet. As a bonus there is a rock beach that the hotel owns, where guests can get a free sunbed, which we enjoyed.
The facilities were very clean and the host was too kind. He upgraded our room for free.
Unlike other hotels around the small beach, the location was very quiet, so you could enjoy a good nights sleep
The location was somewhat convenient since a supermarket was right next to it
Exceptional hotel/apartment in a quiet part of Ulcinj. Staff were very welcoming, particularly Christian at the beach bar. Its a short walk into Town. Apartment was well equipped but it was really reasonable to eat out. Views & beach were amazing. Would recommend.
Location right next to the sea. Staff were really helpful and friendly.Had dinner inthe hotel restaurant it was okay.It wasn,t far from Ulcinj 10 minute walk. There is a path that take you along the coast to various places where you swim and have a lttle privacy.
The hotel is brand new and elegantly furnished. This boutique hotel is located in the picturesque area of Ulqin Valdanos in the midst of olive groves. The rooms have a stunning view where you can catch the most magical sunsets in Montenegro!
The hotel is not bad at all, there are comfortable beds and pillows, very tasty food, free parking, elevator, kind staff, possibilities for childrens' beds, swimming pool, 5 min driving to the big beach, not so far from the Ulcinj old town.
This is a value stay. The room is functional and very clean. The old town and beaches are walking distance about 10 minutes and there are markets and shops and stores very close by. They held parking for us right in front of the hotel.
For the price of a single room in a four-star hotel, the "Barjaktar" offers a large, well-equipped, beautifully decorated suite with a spacious, luxurious bathroom. The hosts were extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommended.
Classy, small hotel with excellent service and a beautiful setting overlooking the Adriatic. A very relaxing place with very comfortable and clean rooms and an excellent breakfast buffet with a wide variety of food.
Perfect location, near the city center. Loved the room , was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this Hotel.
Absolutely cozy place with friendly owner and personnel. The hotel was busy less than for 50% (as we were out of high season) and the pool, lounge chairs were vacant.
Exceptional service! They really are doing everything that makes their guests feel fantastic. I was in many hotels but the service was never this good.
