Skopje has a small city center, the buildings are in a strange style, not fitting in the towns history. There are a lot of statues, there literary everywhere! most shops are in shopping malls, the one in the center looks very old and is in bad shape. the others are far from the center, but modern and really nice. its good for a city trip, the food is amazing and the prices acceptable. one of the best places is the old bazaar, close to the center.

The local’s friendly and most places take euros.Use only the official taxis with telephone numbers on the cabs. Mostly yellow and white. Be careful of potholes on streets and roads. Best value Deaf Dog food and Drink 🍺 Not far from soccer stadium. Go on the galleon SEVENGALLIA a drink 🥃 moored perm near stone bridge. Visit Turkish part for proper kebabs not like uk tasting far better than uk.

Skopje is a lovely city with beautiful center. Around the Macedonian Square you'll find plenty of statues and fontanas. On the old city side there are small shops in a narrow old pedestrian streets. There is also a bazaar-style area, where you can find food, vegetables, home utensils and basically everything in very cheap price. The area is really worth of walking. In Skopje there are plenty of nice restaurants, both modern style and traditional ones with tasty Macedonian food. The must to taste is ajvar, a tasty red side dish made mostly from red paprikas and eggplants. Skopje is affordable city and the people there are friendly. The city center is easy to handle and walk around. Taxis are also very cheap. Don't forget to visit the house of Mother Teresa and familiarize yourself her amazing life and how she became one of the most influential people in the world.Tara KooFinland - 10Scored 10

I was suprised didnt expect it this great. Sure has a lot of statues but kinda it gives the whole city a nice vibe. I felt very safe while exploring Skopje and the places it has to offer : stone brige ,mother Theresas memorial museum , Lake Matka and so on. People are friendly and helpful! the veggie burger at mcdonalds wasnt the best i had . But other than that I am definitivly visiting it again.DonikaMontenegro - 8.0Scored 8.0

I like this city. Is a relaxed one. If the monuments will be witen down and in other languages,or alfabets will be better enverything is in cirilic alfabet. Very difficult to understand. The museum and zoo i recomend to visit. Are great plase and not faar from center. Is a nice city, with hiden stories inside and wonderful places to visit. The location is close to several markets, restaurants, everything you could want within walking distance…quiet at night and on the major bus lines to go anywhere in Skopje. Being our first time and coming from Canada this was a a perfect introduction to Macedonia to get settled in. I can’t recommend this place enough and very thankful we found it. Great value for money!

People need to realize you are paying 5 euros a night for accommodation 20 minutes from the center on foot. Boris and his wife are lovely and very accommodating when it came to out requests. If you ask for it - they’ll try to provide it. Absolutely recommend this place, it is probably the cheapest in Skopje and you get what you pay for.
