Les Trois-Islets is a great location in Martinique, with many restaurants and boutiques around and a large shopping center 20mn away. The beach Anse Mitan is small and I don't recommend to go therefor more than half a day. You need a car to travel all around to different beaches such as Pointe Marin, Les salines, Anse d'Arlet.

while we spent most of our time at our hotel next door, we walked through the area and had drinks; plenty of bars and restaurants as well as shops; there is even a golf course not even 5 minutes away; would be a great place for a week or two

A lovely area, but to visit other parts of the island you have to drive back to the main road which takes about 20 minutes.
You need a car.
Plenty of places to eat.
If self-catering it is advisable to shop at the large Carrefour at Ducos.
The beaches are clean, take your snorkelling equipment with you as there are loads of fish.
If you need GLUTEN FREE products take your own. Did not find any gluten free bread on the Island!!!

You need to be careful where exactly you book the accommodation and check if there is a beach at a walking distance from your house. To stay in Martinique car is a must to go anywhere however it is more comfortable to be nearby at least one of the beaches.
I definitely recommend visiting one of the beach restaurants and try delicious creole cuisine. Prices are mostly the same everywhere. Beaches are mostly empty, only on Sundays, local people take families and friends and spend a day on the beach.

I found that trois-ilets is the ideal vacation spot, My accommodation was close to everything within walking distance. Many eating places, our favorite was havana cafe, the food and service was good. Nice beaches within walking distance and safe for the children. Many stores in the area with prices comparable if not better in the capital, The marina again within walking distance where one can get sea tours from several operators there. At the marina you can get the ferry to fort de france it operates on sked. At the entrance to the marina there is a shop you must visit. It is MOMO Scream.....heavenly sobert/ice cream truly delicious. Also not too far away there is the sugar cane museum and Josephine Bonaparte museum.

Loved the location close to the beach with an amazing sunset, shops and restaurants close by too. Spent a week there and was very comfortable with everything you'd need. Air con and fan in the room. Lovely host gave us great recommendations and gave us a lift to the supermarket. Nearest large supermarket is 10 min drive but smaller ones close by.
Lovely beach, pool and setting overall. Comfortable bed, I had a room right in front of beach ⛱️ Staff were super friendly and let my friends hang out at the hotel bar and pool even before check-in. Also my luggage was kept in storage after check-out for half a day and they even let me shower in an unoccupied room before I headed to airport.
Huge inside balcony with ocean view. Washing machine and large fridge. Efficient AC units in both bedrooms. Short walk to the beach, where coral reef can be experienced while snorkeling. Next to the beach is a ferry stop (frequent connection to Fort de France) and a restaurant which is open all day long. Parking next to the property.
The hotel is run by a very nice couple. They do care about guests and do a lot to fulfill not standard wishes.
The hotel is positioned very centrally but it is very quite since it is fare enough from all the husle.
The breakfest is really very good with a lot of variants.
The view from the balcony is gorgeous.
The property was beautiful, the food was good considering it was a buffet. Room we had in the culture Creole was amazing. Staff went above and beyond for us. Strongly recommend this Hotel!!! We will be back. Make sure to stay in the Junior suits if you don’t have kids!
beach is fab, hotel restaurants are amazing, location is great other restaurants and bars close by, ferry to Fort de France only a couple of mins walk and car hire companies 1 min from the hotel. Breakfast was excellent.
I appreciate the servis and the cooperation when I had request about tranfers and payment, it worked very smoothly. I have experiences with other hotels in Carribean and this is not very common. Good job.
The Hotel and it‘s garden is really beautiful! The Staff was really helpfull during check-In. They have also a towel service for the beach und they serve some fresh fruits and detox water
Location was fabulous, 1 minute walk to lovely beach, pier with ferry service and delicious La Petit Creperie!.
