Sliema is like most of Malta's area's, a busy lively place during the day. At night the traffic does quieten down a bit, but you have more people walking around the harbour, bars and restaurant's. Our choice was the Cafe Sicilia, but the choice you have you could choose a different one every night. The ferry to Valletta is convenient and on our visit 3 euros per person so not expensive. Walking round the harbour in the evening is a nice relaxing walk. Like many places in Malta, there is a lot of building work going on, so there is some delays and disruption at the moment. But that is soon forgotten once past it. We think it's a great place to stay for couples or a family, easy for Valetta or anywhere in Malta.

Best place to stay in Malta IMHO
go visit Rabat
They filmed the 1st series of Game of Thrones
get the bus its like €2 and you have up to 2 hours to reuse it for free
so if you were to get the 13 to valletta and then you hop back on any bus within that time frame its free
and visit Mosta and go to the Mosta dome .the walls are like 28 feet thick
to support the weight of it its a cool place
go down the bomb shelter while your there

Sliema is like the poor relation to St Julians and Valetta.
Sliema is like the poor relation to St Julians and Valetta. It is dirty, lacks atmosphere and is rather boring. There is so much construction work going on , cranes and diggers are everywhere. There is also too much litter.
The restaurants were more expensive than Valetta and the shops close early so there isn't the buzz at night that St Julians has. Great for getting to other places but wouldn't stay there again.

Sliema was the best place for everything.
Sliema was the best place for everything. A promenade by the harbour and a promenade on the Mediterranean Sea side with easy walks to St Julian. Buses are available to venture into Valletta or the 5 minute ferry ride. We took the North Tour hop on hop off bus journey. Great and a harbour cruise around the peninsulas. Recommended. English language. Marks and Spencers and Next with a lovely shopping centre, The Point. The Red Dragon Chinese and the Londener Pub are exceptionally great restaurants.
Highly recommend the Lands End Boutique hotel. Near to the many restaurants yet away from the evening bustle.
We liked the facilities, the very spacious family room in a quiet location. It's 5 minute walk away from the ferry to Valetta and near shops, restaurants, cafes etc. The restaurants of the hotel are very good and a nice option if the weather does not allow you to go anywhere else. The staff is very friendly but not at the level of professionalism of a 5 star hotel...it's more like a 4 star hotel.
The breakfast is fresh and has got many options but not something very special.
The rooftop swimming pool is really nice.
The room was just what we expected and it helped to also have a kitchen. Was clean and comfortable and breakfast was fantastic, everything we needed.
I was especially surprised by the professionalism of Yasser (I believe the name was ) in the reception area. He was simply amazing and treated us like if we were in a 5 star Hotel. In addition Joanna upstairs in the breakfast area was super friendly and helpful every day, we were treated really well and would not doubt to come back again. Thank you all!
Nice boutique hotel in a tipical Maltese house, very conveniently located in Sliema (in a quiet street, but close to cafes, restaurants and the Sliema ferry terminal).
Our room was not huge, but tidy and confortable, with a very confortable bed and many useful items (tea kettle, hairdryer, extra blankets, safe). The cleaning service was outstanding, and all the personell has been very kind and helpful. We asked for a plug adapter before arriving, and it was ready for us when we checked in :-)
We went there for 10 days and it was amazing!
The hostel is well placed in Sliema (less than 10 minutes walk to all boat excursion, less than 5 for restaurant).
The Spa is peacefull and relaxing!
For the beach club: very near of the hostel, perfectly located in front of the sea and the staff is attentive to every request or questions!
The room is large, quiet and comfortable with a small balcony!
I think it's one of the best hotel in Sliema and maybe in Malta!
After many visits in Malta, we decided that Sliema is the best location and this hotel had a great position right in the center of Sliema, on a quiet and safe street, close to everything.
The room was cleaned every day, the towels were changed every day, everything was just perfect!
And, at the end, the host agreed to keep, for free, our luggages until the evening, when we had the flight, which was a great help for us.
Very good location - plenty of bus stops around and few minutes from Sliema-Valletta ferry. Our room was small but had everything necessary (only one small suggestion - would be good to have some cup for toothbrushes in the bathroom). The continental breakfast was delicious. The staff of the hotel was very friendly. Recently, a rooftop terrace with pool was opened which was superb.
The apartment is nice!
Brand new,modern, and very clean.
Amazing welcome by the host (Sasa),we check-in very late by night. They left us bottle of water, coffee, sugar, and milk on the house.
Located in the best location in Sliema, with one leg out of the building and you are in front of the sea!!! Very close to the Sliema ferry.
Our room on the 5th floor had nice see view.
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Location of the hotel is practical with bus stop at close proximity to the hotel entrance.
After checking out, we could leave our luggage in the cloak room while spending the rest of the day in sightseeing.
Self Service breakfast was excellent. Both continental and english breakfast available to a very high standard. The hotel also is centrally situated in Sliema and within walking distance to the ferry to Valetta. Buses available to places on interest on the island. Good selection of bars and restaurants within the town
Nice hotel with a great view over Valletta and Sliema Bay (if you choose sea view room). Room was big enough to accomodate 3-4 people. we had a great view at Valletta, Floriana and Manuel island from the balcony. Really good breakfast, pretty good selection of food. Very helpful and smiled staff.
I traveled for studies and stayed in this hotel in my first days. The hotel has the best cost-benefit ratio, it is very clean and its staff is very friendly.
It is located in one of the best places in Malta. Likewise, it is very easy to take transportation to any place of interest.
Lovely breakfast (which was served next door at The Palace Hotel), super friendly & helpful staff, and very good location! They were able to upgrade us to a better room which was great! The beds were also very comfortable!
A very spacious and modern apartment in the heart of Sliema, very short walk to lots of restaurants, night life, and more. Lots of great outdoor and indoor space, lighting that sets the ambiance. It’s a great spot.
It’s a family run hotel and all staff were friendly. The breakfast is excellent and the location is good, only a 2 min walk to the Sliema ferry and bus. Great value for money!
Great Hotel with excellent location in Sliema. Public transportation is located nearby the hotel. Breakfast is also good and the staff is very welcoming and helpful.
