Fantastic location around the peninsula, next to the ferry to Gozo and boats to Campino. Large pools and swimming on both sides of the hotel. Very comprehensive buffet menu. For dinner, wine and beer on tap. For specialized high quality meals go to nice restaurant across the street. One side of the hotel had views of the ferry and the islands with some noise from the traffic and construction. The other sides has less impressive but still sea views but is quieter. Large balcony.

It’s a quiet town with a reasonable amount of pubs and restaurants. It’s a good base to stay but we went to different places each day. There isn’t enough to keep you busy for a full week if you like to do things on holidays.

We went in the off season (mid April) so the area was quiet and it was easy to get a restaurant, although on the other hand many restaurants were very dead with only 1 or 2 groups inside. The weather was good although very windy, good enough to sit on the beach but not sunbathe or swim. The town was very pretty, it's nice to take a walk up the hill and see the views and older buildings.
We would recommend Blu Club, Amami, and the mellieha heights area at the top of the hill.

Mellieha is a beautiful calm and small town which makes it perfect if you want to avoid crowded cities with a lot of traffic and mass tourism. Climb up the hill and you'll have a fantastic sight onto the bay nearby. the upper town has also beautiful narrow streets and typical houses to see. Not that easy to travel in Malta in general, due to some public transport issues. If I went again, I would avoid long displacements across the island, I would just visit the places nearby. If you are in the northern part and want to have a dayout to the southern Malta, it make take you 4-5 hours go/back with public transport. To avoid the stress and the frustration, stay and visit the places nearby. It's a good excuse to go again and visit the places you missed before!!

Labrsnda Hotel is outside of Mellieha Bay, very vl9se to the ferry port to Gozo; and there are no restaurants or bars nearby. So full board is recommended unless you get a bus, vtaxi or walk to Mellieha Bay which is bustling and it has a lovely sandy beach.
Please note that now on HB, no drinks are included. They were in 2023: local beer, wine and water. We stayed in March 2023 on HB and booked again for March 24; but were not informed of these changes until the first night at dinner when we received a drinks bill.
The green room compensation scheme has also changed: no 'free' ocktails per day per room. Seems to have been a change over "free" alcohol options (although you could've opted for a mocktail previously.)
Drinks are now only available on fully inclusive. However, at the time if booking for us via booking. Com , no all incl was available; neither were we offered an upgrade at reception upon checking in; nor a change in their HB services. So, a cautionary note when booking.

Mellieha is a small town with not a lot to do or see except the supurb WW2 tunnels used as air raid shelters. Also a couple of churches. The Christmas market was on in the square when we were there, which was interesting.
The bus network is fabulous and it is easy to get to anywhere on the island or to the ferry port for Gozo. I recomment the Talinja card for discounted travel.

nice to stay, if you have a rental car.
nice to stay, if you have a rental car.
short distance to gozo ferry.
worth visiting in the area:
golden bay, riviera beach (singita miracle beach), the red tower, Il-Blata tal-Melh (rock formations, cliffs, scenic landscape)
Very nice house with an exceptional living room and a very comfy bed, located in central Mellieha and not far from the best beach in Malta!!!(Ghadira Bay) And of course, a very helpful host and obsessed with the cleaning - so yes, each corner of the house is spotlessly clean! I cannot recommend it more if you want to stay on the beach and be able to visit the whole island(s) at the same time - Malta has one of the best BUS systems(I've seen so far) and there are hundreds of BUSes a day from and to Mellieha(not exaggerating)
Such an amazing long weekend break at LURE Hotel and Spa ⛲✨🇲🇹 The owner and staff went above and beyond the entire weekend - never had better hospitality in Malta 💜 Absolutely top notch. Boutique, stylish, personable, ultra modern rooms, beautiful spa/treatments and overall experience. Highly recommend a visit (and check out their restaurant The Core Restaurant and Lounge and nearby Commando Restaurant 👌) Massive thanks to Alexandra, Mayssa, Jelena, and ofc Malcolm 💜 See you again soon 🤗🥂
We had a wonderful stay! Nice location near a bus stop plenty of choices for food within the area. Our hosts were delightful! Edwin was very helpful with any questions we had and his wife Tessa kept the property very clean and orderly. Tal-Kampjin is a lovely atmosphere! We enjoyed our time in Mellieha! A relaxed place to have as a base to explore both Malta Island and nearby a short ferry ride to Gozo!
Excellent hotel, location, beach. Balcony sea view was amazing. Everything was so good we just stayed there the whole time and did not go anywhere else in Malta, which is very unusual for us. Great indoor pool and sauna with a view, which you can totally miss as there is a lot going out outdoors, with pools etc. Has a deli in a hotel if you wanna save a few quid on drinks too. Breakfast was awesome.
The location close to Mellieha Bay is amazing. We really enjoyed being able to go on quick walks to the beach. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The amenities like the pool and the restaurant/bar are also very convenient. The mini market is also convenient as there is no big grocery store nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again when we return to Malta!
We went to Malta to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Niroj, a corteous front desk associate who answered all our queries, gave us suggestions what to visist and good places to eat around the area. The hotel staff did their best to make our stay memorable. We highly recommend this hotel! Thank you, Solana Hotel!
The location is ideal for seeing Malta,Comino and Gozo. This hotel caters for people who come by car or rent a car. Parking is free of charge and ample space is available. The choice of food is very good. There are 3 restaurants on the premises and those who like to stay on the resort can book all inclusive and enjoy the animation program.
The building is really good, the room and the view from there amazing. The customer service 100/10, Cristina helped me a lot giving me pieces of advice of how to get to popular places in Malta, gave me a map saying where to eat, walk, bus stop etc, she makes you feel at home, she’s a really really a good host.
Nice and friendly staff, shout out to Luisa!
The location was ideal, close to (in my opinion) the best beach in Malta.
They allowed us to store our luggage after the check-out for free, which was really nice fo them.
Overall I whole heartedly recommend this place.
The room was spacious and quite warm (in comparison with other hotel rooms we stayed in Malta). Kids enjoyed the indoor pool, playroom and playground.
We appreciated the proximity of the hotel to the ferry to Gozo.
Hotel was amazing, my only criticism was it wasn’t advertised that kids can not use the indoor pool between 1 and 4pm, other than that, everything was perfect, lots of kids activity’s and we had an amazing stay
Garrett and staff was very friendly and nice. This is one of the cleanest hotels I've been to in my life. Emaculate ! Location was superb ! Spa services was great ! Pool and steam room was super cute too .
Luna is one of our favorite hotels in Malta. Reasons being the cleanliness, the location, the friendliness of the staff. We always feel welcome there and we are guaranteed a very pleasant stay.
It was the second time we visited Malta and we chose this hotel again. We got a better room, bigger and cleaner than before. The staff is always helpful. The breakfast is varied.
Hotel is nice very modern. Located away from all the traffic and craziness but 13 min drive to Golden bay. Lots of eating places near by with quality food. Good bars close by
The Hotel is in the city of Mellieha which is the only city in Malta that have sandy beaches. The hotel is excellent with very good pool areas and kind staff.
