Mellieha is a beautiful calm and small town which makes it perfect if you want to avoid crowded cities with a lot of traffic and mass tourism. Climb up the hill and you'll have a fantastic sight onto the bay nearby. the upper town has also beautiful narrow streets and typical houses to see. Not that easy to travel in Malta in general, due to some public transport issues. If I went again, I would avoid long displacements across the island, I would just visit the places nearby. If you are in the northern part and want to have a dayout to the southern Malta, it make take you 4-5 hours go/back with public transport. To avoid the stress and the frustration, stay and visit the places nearby. It's a good excuse to go again and visit the places you missed before!!

Labrsnda Hotel is outside of Mellieha Bay, very vl9se to the ferry port to Gozo; and there are no restaurants or bars nearby. So full board is recommended unless you get a bus, vtaxi or walk to Mellieha Bay which is bustling and it has a lovely sandy beach.
Please note that now on HB, no drinks are included. They were in 2023: local beer, wine and water. We stayed in March 2023 on HB and booked again for March 24; but were not informed of these changes until the first night at dinner when we received a drinks bill.
The green room compensation scheme has also changed: no 'free' ocktails per day per room. Seems to have been a change over "free" alcohol options (although you could've opted for a mocktail previously.)
Drinks are now only available on fully inclusive. However, at the time if booking for us via booking. Com , no all incl was available; neither were we offered an upgrade at reception upon checking in; nor a change in their HB services. So, a cautionary note when booking.

Mellieha is a small town with not a lot to do or see except the supurb WW2 tunnels used as air raid shelters. Also a couple of churches. The Christmas market was on in the square when we were there, which was interesting.
The bus network is fabulous and it is easy to get to anywhere on the island or to the ferry port for Gozo. I recomment the Talinja card for discounted travel.

Mellieha was good, however we stayed on a hill so not easy to walk around, but if you have Bolt or Uber on your phone, then not a problem to get a taxi in 1 or 2 minutes to anywhere you'd like to visit. We loved the food at Ventuno, One80 and the Blu Beach Club
This is one of my best stays ever. Stuff is very helpful and friendly. I had an issue with bathroom in my room and the manager provided me another room which was even bigger right away! She definitely knows her job very well. If I ever stay in that part of Malta again I would definitely choose this apart hotel. I am delighted and can recommend this place to everyone.
Bed was very comfortable, view from my room was incredible. Nice furniture and everything is new. There is kitchen and washing+drying machine. Best experience ever.
Staff service is amazing, always on hand to help. Bed and pillows are great and when they knew it was my birthday they upgraded my stay and gave me a beautiful view which I highly appreciated! They even put a slice of cake wishing me a happy birthday in my room. I can't ecommend staying here enough. The hotel is beautiful. Will definitely stay here again if I'm in Malta. Thai food at their restaurant was fantastic also.
I had a great time at Labranda Riviera. Staff was very helpful and lovely. Both breakfast and dinner were amazing.
The hotel is quite far from everything, but it's very close to ferries from Cerkiwwa to Gozo, and the bus stop is a 3-minute walk from the hotel, and it runs very often. It will take to a few places in Malta.
Even though the hotel is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, you won't be bored.
The Aparment is very very spacious with a feeling of quality about it. As well as having a main bathroom it has an ensuite too which was a bonus as was the aircon. Its in a quiet part of Mellieha and yet handy for all restaurants, bars, shops and the beach. Catherine is a welcoming and helpful host and promptly answered any questions we had. Would we stay there again if returning to Malta...... Definitely!
This property was absolutely amazing and I recommend to anyone traveling to Malta. The property sit in direct view of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and is within walking distance of the beach. The property was clean, spacious, safe, and my family felt right at home. The owner Joe and the host Chris were great, friendly and it was easy to communicate with them when we had questions or concerns.
The hotel is located at the north of the main Malta Island right next to a beach which is beautiful. We went there for our baby moon, so my wife was pregnant and the hotel says that it has its own convenience store to buy water or snacks but it was always closed, there was not any convenience store or anything close either. The breakfast is very good and the staff of the hotel is very kind.
The pool and all common facilities were great , having a private park a games room, kids play room and indoor pool and outdoor pool - t's a good stay for families.half board included wine, beer and soft drinks which was a good bonus . The rooms are big, super clean and views are nice. Cleanliness everywhere in the hotel was excellent. indoor pool temperature pleasant and clean water.
The staff at this hotel made our stay as comfortable as possible. Very comfortable rooms but what made this even better was the beach was only downstairs. The hotel is exceptionally clean and has great amenities such as a spa and gym. I will definitely come back to this hotel!
The location is quite good and convenient for travel. The bus stop is 1 minute away. Cleanliness is at an excellent level. The staff is kind and courteous.
I chose this hotel mainly because of the view. This is the most beautiful view in Malta. Gozo and Comino are visible.
One of my most favorite hotel in Malta. Always the best experience and place to stay. Celebrated my birthday at the hotel. Lots of food choices for both dinner and breakfast. Always had a great time enjoying and relaxing while staying at Solana Hotel.
Eveything in Ghand-in hotel was great. Clean, Maria was very friendly and caring about the guest.the breakfast was exceptonal. For my next trip to malta I will definitly stay there again. Highly recomended.
An very special hotel!! I highly recommend this to anyone coming to Malta and looking to stay this side of the island. The staff and services were amazing, the staff were extremely hospitable and welcoming.
Everything was nice. Me and my boyfriend enjoyed our stay at the Solana Hotel. It was one of the best hotels we visited in Malta. All staff are nice and polite. I recommend the hotel to everyone 😀
The hotel is very nice and well-appointed. The Swimming pools, indoor outdoor and adults only (rooftop) are nice and the garden is luscious. The hotel is Very clean. Fantastic buffet breakfast.
Lovely hotel, room was big and spacious, great location to visit rest of Malta and the islands of Gozo and Comino. The staff were very friendly,
We loved it and will be returning in October.
The hotel is new, modern, comfortable, tastefully decorated and on a quiet street. The room was quite spacious and had a nice balcony. The breakfast was presented nicely and tasty.
Really beautiful hotel overlooking the bay. 10min walk from the closest town, which was very pretty. Close drive to most things on the north side of Malta!
