Grand Baie is a fabulous area of Mauritius on the North coast of the island. Beach is beautiful, lots of street food, bars, restaurants to choose from.
Supermarkets, shops and malls all a short walking distance.
Plenty of day trips such as catamaran trips, glass bottom boats that leave from Grand Baie and if you fancy a little bit of extreme adventure then 20 mins away you can go sky diving and experience something out of this world with beautiful views of the island

Grand Baie is beautiful, so easy to get to shops, restuarants and beaches. Very busy though, and drivers tend to speed on the roads, and there is almost no pavement for walking in many places so please be carefil when walking along the road. Beaches are truly beautiful. We were able to easily get to restaurants and the food was really great -Toparadis served great food and we got our food very quickly, the cocktails here were very good; the most amazing food was at Ocean V, Rooftop restaurant, the staff were amazing, friendly and so welcoming and the view was unlike any other I had seen in Mauritius. You can also try the street food, it really is so safe and good. We took a boat cruise from Grand Baie to Gabrielle island and it was amazing, though not for the sensitive, as boat tends to rock quite a bit when the wind picks up- saw lots of flying fish and dolphins! Overall we had an amazing boat cruise on the Coral Princess with superb hosts, Kevin, Pascal, Carelle etc. Lunch was served on the boat when we got back. Lots of taxis and buses, though not so much on weekday nights, and lots during Thursday to Sunday day and nights.
I suggest using cash at the little stores if possible as there seemed to be a connectivity problem at at least 2 stores where I was charged for the purchase but they said the txn did not go through, and at one shop the lady was quite rude -keep your purchase slips as proof, or take a pic of the "card not supported message". Be prepared for the price of items to be increased the moment you speak another language (other than creole). Always negotiate at the markets!

Beautiful area with a lot to do.
Beautiful area with a lot to do. Many local shops around, with the Super U Mall within walking distance.
The roads are very narrow with hardly any space for pedestrians to walk. Renting of cars is impossible if planning a spontaneous trip, but there are local shops renting out bicycles and scooters.

Grand Baie has plenty of good restaurants, La Kaza was our favorite, especially for sea food. There are numerous shops in the area including a large mall and supermarket.
The beach was lovely flat white sands and the water was calm. There were no stones or pebbles getting into the water, so no need for water shoes.
The pavements were narrow or non-existent and difficult to walk on in numerous places and the road traffic was busy at times. This was the main roads, not the side streets. The harbour area was lovely with a few small bar, restaurants and nice shops.
Grand Baie was a lovely place but looked a little run down and could do with a little investment and painting.

Great to have fabulous hotel and gorgeous beach right near a buzzing town, shops, other restaurants and beach bars. Hotel is very peaceful despite great facilities on doorstep.
Easy to rent a car to explore the rest of the island
Instead of being a three star, this villa ought to be a five star. I've been in a lot of villas in Mauritius, but by far the finest is Sunny Side Up. We have young children, therefore we are picky about accommodations. Our hopes were surpassed by Sunny Side Up, which is exactly what you can see in the pictures. The ideal location. Clean. Lovely host. Excellent communication...The supermarket, which has a wide range of food, is about five minutes away. Most of all we felt safe..... I would highly recommend sunny side up.
The staff is amazing and makes you feel like at home. They are very helpful and go above and beyond of what is expected. We got an upgrade to the suite that was an amazing surprise to us especially that we stayed there for 10 nights.
Breakfasts were super tasty and the choice was always there (great omlettes and pancakes).
The travel agency next to the hotel is great and offers fair prices. We booked some boat trips there during our stay. The beach right next to the hotel is perfect for swimming.
It was a charming discovery for us. The place is ideally situated not far from Grand Bay beach, supermarket and other main facilities are at walking distance.
We were amazed by the welcome by Vanessa and David. Exceptional welcome making you feel at ease immediately. We like this feeling of being welcomed and the warmth throughout the stay. The place, the people, the calmness of the place was just amazing. There is nothing we did not like about LE BINOME and we will certainly book again.
I'd recommend to anyone visiting Mauritius to stay at Auberge Miko, the location is great having a big supermarket so close to you, nice and quiet area to relax and work if you need to. Both Lena and Vivek are very welcoming when you arrive and very helpful for any information you need whilst travelling through Mauritius. Rooms are extremely spacious and very clean with housekeeping every day. Only 10 minutes away from Grand Baie beach and nice restaurants close by.
We loved the location, it was so easy to enjoy a half an hour walk right into the center of town OR hop right on the bus. It was so convenient to have the bus stop right outside the villas. We also enjoyed having a market/store right outside as well, it was so easy to walk over and grab water bottles or snacks. We also loved the view of the ocean/beach/palm trees and it was the best view to wake up too. The wifi was also fantastic! Worked very fast.
Great hotel within walking distance of Grand Baie. The hotel's private beach was lovely and there were always a lot of loungers available. It's easy to get to Port Louis for a day trip too if you want to check it out.
The rooms were spacious and airy with a spectacular view of the pools and beach behind. The staff were extremely friendly especially Asraf who cleaned our room.
Good variety of food at breakfast and dinner for our half board stay
Beautiful hotel with great pools and beach front. But the best part of this hotel is the amazing, courteous and professional staff. From the front desk manager, the luggage porter to the waiter at the restaurants - everyone is really amazing. This hotel should be praised for its hospitality.
The rooms are big, bright and very clean; well equipped and comfortable with plenty of storage room; balcony with table and chairs.
Location is fantastic. Rooms and restaurant facing the harbor of Grand Baie. Rooms have everything you need. For Grand Baie in this season this is the best place in terms of value for money. Working distance from the beach and center of the town.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
To be honest I was quite impressed and if you don t want to spend too much this is the best place to go in Grand Baie.
New villa with all amenities. Each of the 3 rooms has its own bathroom with shower - in fact, all 3 rooms are master bedrooms. Excellent veranda with a large dining table and a fan - all our meals were only there. And of course having a pool is a big plus. The location is perfect - close enough to the beach but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. If possible, we will definitely come back again.
The breakfast was adequate for us as it had the necessary requirements a breakfast offers. The staff do take pride in their work and offer any assistance they can to make the breakfast a pleasant experience. The place is 3km away from Grand Baie and easy to get there by bus at a cost of 17 rupees. The place has a great bar and a greater bartender right beside a clean and beautiful pool.
The rooms were nice and big including the bathroom and shower were great. The hotel is pretty and modern including the great pool and spa area. People at the paid bar and coffee shop are very professional and nice. Also people at the reception were very responsive and professional. It's located close to 2 shopping centers one you can walk to, but a car is preferable to get to the beach.
Everything was superb. The apartment is spacious, well equipped, the decor is modern and attractive. The balcony offers a view to Eden beach and across to the golf course at Mt Choisy. It is very quiet and is set within other local houses and small hotels. 5 minute wasl to the bus stop to Grand Baie or Mt Choisy beach. The kitchen and bathroom are stylish and comfortable.
The staff were really welcoming, I came from a 2 days flight I waited only 30mins to get my room even tho it was an early check in ,they made me feel at home away from home .Am myself a guest services manager in a hotel abroad and I must say that they exceeded my expectations as I came to Mauritius after 4 years short stay but awesome and value for money
Pradeep and reception were very good, could have been cleaner near the pool, needed a few more staff , the road to the place needs major attention as it rained and was flooded...but the place very close to all the major attractions, we loved our stay in Grand Baie.
I really recommand this hotel
the room was clean and cosy
the breakfast so yummy with a nice view
and of course the staff who work there are all amazing ! Siman is a very nice person who do everything in her hand to help you and make your trip enjoyable
Location is perfect - 2 minute walk from Grand Baie public beach, with lots of restaurants and shops around. Amazingly safe location for a solo traveller.
Staff super helpful and gorgeous restaurant on ground floor of hotel.
The staff are exceptionally good and the location of the hotel is safe and in the heart of the city. The rooms are good for the price. The breakfast is moderate.
Beach was amazing. Hotel and rooms are very chic and modern. Food and specially cocktails are really good. Hotel provided a comprehensive honeymoon package
Location of the apartment is Very good, Very close to city center of Grand Baie. Also the hosts very friendly , they solved a few problems very quickly
