We hired a taxi to take us up to the Citadel and around the city. It has some interesting colonial buildings.
We arrived at Port Louis at the end of our cruise - the apartment was not far from the port.
We used the same taxi driver to take us up the Northern Beaches (well worth visiting) and he also drove us to the airport for our flight to Dubai.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Champs De Mars Apartment during my recent short visit to Mauritius, and I can't say enough good things about it! From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the charming and cozy atmosphere that this apartment offers.
First and foremost, the location is fantastic. Situated right next to the iconic Champs De Mars Racecourse, the apartment offers stunning views and a unique atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else on the island. It's also conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and public transportation, making it easy to explore all that Mauritius has to offer. Moreover, the apartment's security was excellent.
The apartment itself is impeccably clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. The interior design is tasteful and modern, providing a welcoming and homely ambiance. The spacious living area is perfect for relaxation and entertaining, and the kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities you need to prepare your own meals if you wish.
One of the highlights of the Champs De Mars Apartment is the balcony, which overlooks the racecourse. The breathtaking views of the races and the lush greenery are truly a unique experience that adds a special touch to your stay.

Traffic in Port Louis is very busy so allow extra time if you need to travel anywhere. You will need consider this when ordering a taxi. There was nothing open near the villa to walk to besides the beach/boat dock area. This was cleaned everyday by the local authority and included toilets.

We stayed in Port Louis for 2 last days in Mauritius.
We stayed in Port Louis for 2 last days in Mauritius. It was wrong. In fact it was enough to visit it for 1 day somewhen in the middle of the trip. Not so much to see there. Water front is beautiful but it is for couple of hours. Peoplel say about Central market but as for me market in Mahebourg is better. So definetely it is worth to visit but without great expectations.

I love the old part of Port Louis at the foot of Signal mountain. Just get a car and go around the little streets looking at the few remaining old colonial houses. Of course do the tourist sites too...
The breakfast was lovely and the option to have omelets was great. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable with a good storage setup to unpack. Mary was an amazing host, accommodating my erratic schedule and sometimes unusual requests. The neighborhood is quiet, but still an easy drive to downtown. Having dinner available at the hotel (extra charge) was very convenient and always delicious. Filtered water is always available in the kitchen. Thanks, Mary and company, for an amazing stay!
An excellent option when staying in Port Louis, especially for longer stays. The apartment is a very good value for the money. The location is ideal, on a quiet street within walking distance to shops and services. Very comfortable, and extremely well stocked with everything one might need, all in new condition. Wi-Fi works well. This is a family-run unit and the owners do everything to make their guests feel welcome.
he place is in china town. Safe, clean enough, silent at nights. We stayed 5 days and it was incredibly comfortable. And the guy in the reception, Mihary, is so kind, generous and good person. He always helped us. The hotel is so close to the bus station, you can use busses to go most places in Mauritius with affordable budget, 1 euro each more or less. Strongly recommend the hotel..
We couldn’t have wished to be anywhere else during a cyclone…! The staff were just brilliant, delivering special plates of snacks & keeping us fed & watered during the hours of lockdown & intermittent electricity & water. A special mention to Jessica who worked tirelessly throughout. Apart from the cyclone, this hotel is a lovely oasis - v comfortable.
Cocotiers Hotel provided everything the best from breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet, the bar and the service was good. Stay is close to Mauritius waterfront, theatres, mall and nature parks. Best beaches to visit near by is flic n flac, trombeau and tamarind for kayaking and snorkelling and other water sports. Complete value for money.
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, breakfast was an additional cost but reasonably priced and a good way to start the day with plenty of fresh fruit in addition to bread and an optional omelette. Location ideal for Port Louis - close enough but out of the centre of the city.
For a quiet, clean, secure and centrally located base in Port Louis, this apartment ticked all the boxes. The AC and wifi were excellent, the kitchen was well equipped and the fixtures were fine if functional. The staff made us feel welcome and helped out with a late checkout time.
The room was clean and the staff were friendly
The location is on the roadside and just opposite its a taxi parking and busses also pass by the premises.
The place was cool and calm with no noise and the window view of Port Louis city was perfect
The facility was great and central to most places around the island, the host was exceptional! He took time to show us around, brief us on the various sites around and he gave us relevant contacts to get us by. Thank you so much Jude!
It was a nice villa located in the same complex as the Address boutique Hotel.
The host was very helpful and responded to all our questions.
Yes will definitely come back especially if I am around with a group of friends.
