The breakfast and food at the restaurant was great but a bit expensive compared to restaurants close by. The pool was incredible and the ocean and beach are literally steps away from the resort. The view from the hotel is beautiful and the location made for an easy walk in Zihua town. The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful anytime we needed support.

Puerto Vallarta last year was too commercial. Zihua snowbirds tell us that Zihua is like PV thirty years ago. Still very much the amazing Mexican vibe, not over run by big box stores, just independent, locally owned stores and restaurants.
The people are awesome, we felt safe with the three levels of policing -- State, Municipal and Tourista police.
Lots of music, amazing places to eat (El Vado, Casa Elvira, El Duke, La Travasia) at reasonable prices. Two months this year, we have booked 3 months for 2025! Come join us for Sailfest in February and Guitarfest in March!

I loved that the other tourists were of older population, pre or current retirees, lots of couples and people who have been vacationing in Zihuatanejo for years. There are fisherman retirees and there is nice surfing up the coast at Playa Linda. We got surf lessons in town from the local surf shop in downtown Zihuatanejo.

Very busy down town area, safe, cheap transport with collectivos, many choices of restaurants and bars. Travellers must investigate location of accommodations to ensure you are in a comfortable quieter area.
Beaches in down town area are not recommended. Must travel to the cleaner and safer beaches or take water transport to Los Gâtas.
Many festivals of interest; Sailfest, Guitar fest, Carnival, etc.

Clean and safe city!
Clean and safe city! Beautiful views everywhere along the coast. Pretty hot and muggy even we were visiting in January. We did lots of swimming to cool off. Locals are super friendly towards us tourists but few speak any English. Learn some basic Spanish before your trip.
Only cash mostly accepted it must be pesos unlike some tourist town that accept dollars. ATMs available in town and are safe. Great place, much quieter than the well known resort towns in Mexico. Tourists were mostly Canadian retirees. Zihua is a fishing village so expect great seafood in every restaurant and if you want meat you have to find it. For tacos I recommend El Carboncito (pic added).

Perfect vacation.
Perfect vacation. Beautiful bay, ideal weather and ocean water temperature, nice people, very good food. We ate at three places: restaurant on the beach called Gaviota, Thompson hotel restaurant Hao, and Coconut's restaurant in town. All three were very good, but Gaviota is the best. Zihuatanejo has lots of taxi cabs so getting around is very easy. Ocean fishing is very good and quite affordable there. We caught lots of black tuna and a few Mexican needlefish.

Zihua is somewhere I would highly recommend.
Zihua is somewhere I would highly recommend. Super friendly, clean etc. However, Villas Miramar was very disappointing, what was advertised was not what we got. It was not ready when we arrived, with kitchen being not usable, dirty, not usable utensils, coffee pot disgusting. Took a few days to get cleaned up but room was too hot to use the kitchen. Fridge broken off and on for first week. Lost food and frozen goods. Could not get circulation in living area, even with a borrowed fan running 24/7. Throughout stay, things went missing from our room including cash. Police report was filed and management basically called us and our translator liars.
An amazing view of the town and the ocean! The suite was very roomy with an big living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a comfy bed with AC. It is not a brand new hotel, but it is very clean and well maintained. I noticed every morning the guy cleaned the pool for a good 40 minutes and the bed was made every single day. The restaurant is simple but very affordable and offers fresh food. We have been going to Zihua for 5 years but this hotel is definitely one of the best values in town. Most importantly, the staff was friendly.
The location is great, walk to downtown, playa las Gatos. The beach is one of the best in the area, hotel has a private area on the beach. Staff is super friendly. Happy hour in the pool bar 3-4.30! The hotel consists of a few buildings so better double check with them if you want to have next to the pool/ beach front/ next to restaurant.. Ocean view one bedroom has full kitchen. Transfer from the airport cost us 640 pesos(ordered though the hotel), taxi to the airport 400. Like everything!
We loved our stay. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. We celebrated our anniversary here and the staff made it special. The room is spacious and has everything you need including your own outdoor mini pool. We had the main pool to ourselves as it’s a boutique hotel. The views are spectacular, and it’s a short walk to the beach. We dined here for every meal. The food is absolutely delicious, and the drinks are wonderful. Highly recommend going here!
This hotel offered the best and most proactive customer service I have ever experienced. Hector, Carlos, Axel and others whose names I didn’t make a note of. We arrived earlier than checkin allowed. We’re given drinks and exemplary assistance with car hire and taxis. Using the hotel as a convenient excuse me night stop before an early flight we wished we could have stayed longer.
I would fully recommend. Better than many 5* hotels I have stayed in.
It was about a 10 min walk to the beach, not bad at all.
The hotel itself was absolutely lovely. The pool area was great and the room we had was spacious and super comfortable. We only stayed one night driving through but it was a great spot and we'd recommend it!
The host was very attentive and looked after us the entire time we were there.
This was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. My wife and I spent four days in Zihuatanejo and the service, facilities and food were all perfect. The attention to detail and courteousness of the staff was exceptional. Beautiful views from our room and interior design straight out of a architecture magazine.
really amazing safe place in the heart of downtown core. this has more of a local Mexican feel which I liked before moving onto the beachfront properties. the staff was amazing. breakfast was so fresh and yummy. they really take care of guests. good for kids. nice pool. and even a cute hotel cat ;)
Highly recommend.
Such a great room and a cool swimming pool
My room had an hamaca, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, ocean view balcony, air-conditioning, Cable TV
Was so comfortable, La Ropa beach is 2min walking. This is a great hotel
A truly beautiful view, comfortable accommodation, excellent staff, food, helpfulness, secure feeling, close to everything you need in Zihau. I highly recommend this hotel/resort. The pool is brilliant too and excellent coffee in the rooms.
Cute, boutique hotel in the heart of Zihuatenejo, centrally located for an authentic Mexican experience but still close to the beach and good restaurants. Secure, off-site but close by parking for our motorcycles. Very friendly staff.
Fresh fish every day. A huge eight mile beach with nobody on it. There is a fresh water lagoon with interesting wildlife. Hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. The population is fifty so it is certainly not touristy.
We stayed in villa #9 and the view overlooking the bay of Zihuatanejo is amazing. Luis made our stay very enjoyable and the response is very quick if you need something in your villa. The pool is very nice and quiet.
