Nice climate but we found it chilly some nights (Mid March) Quite expensive especially for wine unless you buy it at the supermarkets i.e. Chedraui, La Comer etc. then only 90 to 100 pesos for a decent Chilean Cab Sav or Merlot.
Not a lot of night life unless you are into ear drum destroying night clubs.
The ocean is not for swimming due to the rip tides.

Businesses on the front road Calle MANUAL DOBLADO are excellent, from breakfasts at the French Riviera to .. there's an excellent massage (facials too) place just up the road CAPRICHO,, t's perfect! To stay tacos El FOGON And I have to give props to the most delicious Italian restaurant we went to twice there's something about Their Caesar salad and I'm pretty sure the pizza's and pasta all homemade sauces, incredible wine recommendation.. is Petros down in the tourist art district. We loved the festivities, the fireworks were the best we've ever send in our lives, the love music in the plaza, the exceptional friendly kindness of the people.. the marina! The beaches! Old Town charm! Except it's sad to see that the Tropicana is under perpetual remodel and takes away from the original character that it always had been so don't do that no upgrades keep it original... Keep the Old Town charm keep the franchises out of it no Little Caesars no Subway.. Don't let the foreigners buy anything. Don't let the foreigners tell you what to do keep your festivities up until 3 AM if you want to... Keep doing what you always have done and just don't change it's perfect the way it is

We wanted to visit San Jose for a day before heading down to our time share ( of 20 years) in Cabo San Lucas. We liked the center of the town, the main street is full of local charm and small businesses, There is a stage on the main plaza with the old church and in the evening we saw dancers in colourful costumes. There are plenty of small stores and family restaurants, souvenir and food distractions.
We recommend tourists stop at San Jose on their way down to the big sophisticated resorts and immerse in the real atmosphere of the local culture.

In my Mexico experience, San Jose is a "high end"
tourist village,,,,, just what I expected,, considering all the
resorts. It is not "my" desired Mexico experience, but, I had to
visit once..If you wander away from the resorts, you can find
some real food, and local events.

Very nice place, but the vendors will try and scam you so watch out. We attempted to purchase a tour from a vendor, and he tried to book us with a timeshare presentations even though we told them no. The stores are overpriced, and more expensive than in the US so we didn't purchase anything as we felt the vendors were trying to rip us off by jacking the price up.

Charming familiy run hotel in the historic district. Very nice interior, the patio with lots of plants and a fountain. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. Good bed.
The hotel management was extremely helpful and friendly; thank you Paulina. I would have liked to stay longer.
The hotel does not offer breakfast. One has to go next door to the French Bakery which offers a good variety of breakfast.
It's an airport hotel - it was very convenient to the airport. Generally airport hotels aren't anything to get excited about, but this one was very nice. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, from checking in, to the bar tender. It feels pretty new, but even still they were repainting some of the common areas while we were there. They are definitely keeping it fresh feeling.
this property is a perfect location on the beach has a nice little restaurant the food was good the pools were nice and the drinks were excellent. The staff was very helpful and it was relatively quiet because it’s a small resort. Not like the big resorts with constant thumping music all day long by the pool. There were some nice beach Palapas. You can’t beat this deal for the price
Excellent location, right on the beach. Close to a major grocery store that has everything you might need. Urbano buses are available right on the street above the hotel for inexpensive trips back and forth to the historic district. Safe environment. The hotel staff was always very helpful and kind.
The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. They were excellent. The location is right in the middle of the action for the colorful 'Art Night' in San Jose del Cabo...but after 9PM that night, this colorful and aesthetically pleasing hotel is perfectly quiet.
Very quiet and unique. If you don’t like the big resort vibes, and you are looking for a small boutique hotel, this is the perfect solution for you. Close to the beach and restaurants. Few minutes driving to the old town.
The hotel is well located, there are plenty of supermarkets, and some restaurants around. In just 5 minutes drive you are in downtown, 15 mins drive you are in Playa Palmilla, an idyllic beach where you can swim.
Amazing location! Especially for a surfer! The room was spacious and very clean with large comfortable beds and lounges. Impressive infinity pool with a nice bar right on the beach.
It’s a hipsterish hotel in San Jose, good beach accessible by an electric boat, nice pool area. generally nice choice, lot better than large American resorts
