Lovely little village with some local character, where there are some local people, not just tourists. Perfect location for everything: snorkelling, the airport, cenotes, local attractions, and yet much more relaxed and low key than most other places on the coast.

This ""Deluxe Double Ocean View" room was awful.
This ""Deluxe Double Ocean View" room was awful. NO furniture except for the bed and ONE wooden chair. We had to put our luggage on the floor. NO closet or hangers. NO bottled water - which should be a given for any Mexican hotel. So glad we were only there for two nights and then could escape to our place in Akumal. We do love Puertos Morelos and the restaurant on-site at the hotel helped make up for our miserable stay.
LAST time we book with Booking.com.

Puerto Morelos is a quiet, laid back town that tries to provide both modern conveniences, while maintaining its ethnic culture. The restaurants were plentiful and the food was well prepared. If you are staying on the beach side, everything was within walking distance. (The bookstore was a pleasant surprise.) This is not a party town. Most of the visitors are middle aged and hail from the USA and Canada. For us, this was the perfect place to relax.

I know people who travel far distances to go to Cabo, Costa Rica, the Caribbean islands, etc that haven't been to Puerto Morelos. Puerto Morelos is a short flight from the US and has excellent resorts, beautiful ocean views, and plenty of water and land activities to choose from. Puerto Morelos also offers several options on the types of resorts that suit your lifestyle, Resorts for families, for adults only, adults only that are top optional, and even couples only resorts that are clothes optional. We've traveled far distances to other resort destinations and sure, each location has it's unique qualities. But Puerto Morelos unique qualities and is only 30 minutes from Cancun International Airport, which offers many direct flights from US and other international cities.

Puerto Morelos used to be a quiet little fishing village.
Puerto Morelos used to be a quiet little fishing village. We used to love to spend our winters there. It is a mess right now. They are building some huge condominium buildings and the construction noise and traffic are horrible! The buildings are just getting bigger and bigger....and huge, tall eye sores!!! Taxi's drive like crazy people....and the town has definitely lost it's quaint, quiet beauty. It's to bad that the people who are making the development decisions in Puerto Morelos have such poor judgement, because this once beautiful little fishing village is being destroyed!!! It's very sad to see Puerto Morelos being destroyed! We couldn't be more disappointed by the destruction of this amazing place!

We enjoyed puerto Morelos, laid back vibe, lots of building happening of condos etc, we heard it will be a stop for the maya train. For us a week is enough, although we met many people who spend winters there.
Wonderful staff. Great vibe. Very peaceful spot,. great kitchen. Puerto Morelos is another "riviera maya" tourist shitpit but this place is not part of that culture. Loved the nesting turtles and the balcony overlooking the sea. The mattresses were old and not very clean. No soap was provided. Otherwise, room, sheets and towels were very clean. No AC BTW, which was fine with us sea breeze was great. The staff and turtles made the stay more than worth it.
The location was a short walk to a lovely beach. The Paradise Beach club is directly behind on the beach and your can use free chairs and tables there is you order something to eat or drink. There was no breakfast at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is onsite free parking and free beach towels that you can use with a deposit down. The two bedrooms were comfortable although the second room had two much smaller beds.
The location is excellent because it's close to the beach and to town. Lucy and Edwin were great. Very accommodating. Clean. Decently provisioned kitchenette. Great staff. We felt very welcomed. Easy to find. Small enough hotel so it felt kinda like staying with family. Lovely little common area to hang out in. WIFI was consistently decent. Owners/managers were easy to reach and quick to respond. Would stay there again.
Amazing little gem right in the middle of the beach side of Puerto Morelos. Loads of food in easy walking distance, only a couple blocks from the beach, grocery store, massage places, dive shops and basically everything else. Block from main square/taxi stand/collectivo pickup. Small complete apartment with full kitchen, hot shower with good pressure, A/C, and furniture. Cute little gated outdoor area as well.
Nice , clean, friendly hotel , 3 minute walk from Puerto Morelos centre and 5 minutes to the beach. Fabtastic roof top pool which my 10 yr old son loved! great views . Helpful staff , reception helped me charge my phone and the great housekeepers tidied up all our mess in the room, including folding our clothes, Thanks, nice small hotel and lovely town. Tasty pizzas below too!
The location of Arricefes, which was right on the beach and close to town, was fantastic. We had a suite on the second floor with a view of the sea, which I would highly recommend. The suite was well furnished and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom had air conditioning. The staff was friendly and responsive.
We really enjoyed the stay, positively surprised both by the hotel and Puerto Morelos overall. The hotel is above a restaurant but it closes at 22h and nights are super quiet. We had a balcony with sea view, it felt very luxurious for the price. The room had a surprisingly well equipped kitchen! Staff was very friendly!
We always stay here when we go to Puerto Morelos, and for good reason. For the price, it is the best hotel in town: right on the beach, great pool, nice restaurant (service can be a bit iffy at times) comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. Plus, the location can't be beat, just steps from "downtown"
This is our go-to hotel when coming in and out of Cancun airport. Excellent location in the heart of the beach side of Puerto Morelos on a street that is pedestrian only after 3pm. PM is a nice town, not overly touristed, with all amenities and a laid back atmosphere. Really wonderful huge beach.
The property is perfectly located on the beautiful beach and only a short walk into the centre of town. Puerto Morelos is charming and has great restaurants and bars all within easy reach. The beach club was great and the hotel had a nice swimming pool. Staff were friendly and helpful.
This hotel is right on the beach, has a nice swimming pool and a great garden area. The rooms are big, with a nice bathroom. it’s just 5 min away from the square and all restaurants. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Great place to stay!
Swimming pool on the top flor was very nice and clean, water was cold, but very refreshing. The staff was very helpfull. The room and bathroom was clean and nice and quiet. There is a nice small parking space by the hotel.
service was very personal, staff very friendly. restaurants with good variety, gourmet like food . it is not a big chain like hotel, more boutique style. quiet place, more mature guests. excellent Spa, pricy but excellent.
It was nice to stay right on the beach. All rooms have a view of the ocean. The rooms are very spacious. The reef in Puerto Morelos is amazing and hosts a broad diversity of coral and marine life.
- Very big and yummy breakfast
- Swimming pool looks well
- free parking before the gate to the hotel
- very good view from the balcony on the beach and from the upper terrace on the jungle
Staff was great they helped showed you around very friendly people also it was very clean you always seen cleaning even on the beach they made sure it was very clean that made it even better
We only stayed here for two nights and the hotel has beautiful design and the rooms are super comfortable. Puerto Morelos is a really cool town and was a highlight of our Riviera Maya trip.
Close to the beach and has a beach access. Close to the 'main street' in Puerto Morelos. Receptionists Ernesto and 'head waiter' on the beach. But that is about it.
On the beach in Puerto Morelos. Beautiful lobby and beachfront restaurant. Convenient location near grocery store and main plaza, shops and restaurants.
