The location was great, accessible to everything, restaurants, beach, market, and on the bus route.
It's an older hotel but the rooms and the facilities were clean. Housekeeping was quick to reply to your needs. We had a suite with a kitchenette, and it was well equipped.
The staff were pleasant, helpful, and professional. Special mention to William at the front desk when dealing with an accommodation issue. He worked to resolve the issue promptly and professionally, and we were quire pleased with the resolution. They work hard to make your stay pleasant.

Parking is secure with plenty of space - hard to find in tourist destinations.
Breakfast was good with staff who appreciated our poor attempt at Spanish. Many other guests expected the staff to speak to English (which they do) but we did like to at least try.

(We were standing at the door at 3pm of the day of our booking

Mazatlan was the first place we visited in Mexico 25 years ago. As with all of tourist Mexico it has changed considerably. Now I live full time in another, quieter coastal area. We came to Maz this time for the eclipse. Normally, it's too crazy for us alumni of the party-hardy school and we were not disappointed.

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE CITY.
I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE CITY. I DID HAVE MTY SPANISH GUIDE WITH ME FOR MOST OF MY TRIP. WITHOUT MY SPANISH GUIDE THUIS TRIP WOULD HAVE TURNED OUT VERY DIFFERENTLY FOR ME, MUCH ON THE NEAGTIVE SIDE. ALSO WHAT IS WITH THE MMEXICAN POLICEMAN IN THE BACK OF THE TRUCK HOLDING TO A LOADED MACHINE ALL ABOUT? THIS GUY ALMOST LOOKED TRIGGER HAPPY. THIS GUY WAS READY TO PULL THE TIRGGER.

The Plaza Machado and Centro Histórico were out favorites. We love watching students at the music school and strolling the streets. The monthly art walk is great. It’s a genuine Mexican city with beaches. What could be better?

There were a few nice beaches and the market in old mazatlan was great. Buses were easy to get on and off and a good price.
Golden zone smells like sewage. It is busy and hardly anyone that can speak English. So loud!! It is over populated and filthy. Definitely would not recommend golden zone or the malecon. The beaches along the malecon and golden zone are gross!!! One little section in front of the marriot that is ok, otherwise run!! Best beaches are at emerald bay, deer island (grab a boat in front of holiday inn for 150 pesos return) and stone island (get a boat at the old marina for 35 pesos return)
If you want to shop, avoid the malls, Malecon and golden zone. Everything you could want is in old mazatlan and at way better prices. Research cab fares before you go. One will charge 300 and the next 800. Download uber so you have a back up way to get around.
Have fun, explore the small towns around. Glad we went, but won't go back!
The location of this hotel, on the Plaza Machado, is the centre of culture, entertainment and exceptional dining options in Mazatlan. Everything we wanted to do and see was within walking distance. At night, the Plaza Machado became an entertainment mecca with exceptional variety of live music all around the plaza. If you like live entertainment, dancing, dining, partying, this hotel is for you. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. A special thank you to Javier who looked after us very well at breakfast.
the Luxury Suites (Condos) are amazing! I prefer them to the “villas” hotel rooms in the resort. they are super spacious, 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a great terrace with beach view plus all amenities in the kitchen. the condo are is also super quiet and nature very beautiful! really loved this place and stay. it’s a nice walk 15-20 min to the Palomas restaurant or to the main hotel area.
I really enjoyed the suite that has 4 beds, (2 full beds and 2 individuals) this kept my family together which was really nice and having 2 bathrooms was a plus. My kiddos enjoyed the kids pool and they liked the slide. It was nice to have the beach so close and that they have an area to wash off the sand before coming back inside the hotel area. Overall a great stay for the price.
The property was an amazing value - clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. The host was very friendly and attentive, and she shared a wealth of helpful information throughout our stay. The security staff were incredibly kind and the location was ideal. We stayed in several accommodations throughout our vacation and Ferrara Mazatlan Cerca Del Mar was our absolute favorite!
Loved it! Beautiful penthouse, clean with gorgeous and spectacular views of the ocean. Had everything we needed for our family of 6. The host was super nice & always available when we needed her. The staff working for Las Gavias Grand was also super friendly and helpful. 10/10 would book this rental again if we visit Mazatlán, Mexico from California again!
Nothing, is the first time that we have such a bad service and inconveniences during our stay in any part of Mexico, this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in a touristic location in this country. Perhaps this would be acceptable in other countries but not in Mexico wherr the standards are world class everywhere when it comes to tourism.
Beachfront hotel with a very quiet and walkable beach. Room had a small patio with two chairs and glass sliding doors to let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Large shower with good pressure and plenty of hot water.
Pools were nice. Grounds well maintained. Restaurant was good. Staff helpful, especially the valay guys for getting transportation to town. Seemed to be more geared for the all inclusive crowd, instead of those who want to experience Mazatlan.
It is well located, next to the beach, it has a lot of facilities if it is what are you looking for. The staff was helpful and nice. For Mazatlan I believe it’s one of the best places to stay when it comes to value for the price.
All inclusive is not what I expect, only two places to get your meals, there not beach at all, too many rocks, so i f you like beach, this Hotel is the worst decision
very central location. can walk to all the shops and golden zone shops and restaurants. taxis right outside. right on a great swimming beach with palapas.
