The view for the pictures and all the castle is beautiful, but only for pictures and not from near view, you take a closer look and find many dust and not clean areas, absolutely not good maintenance on all the facilities!
This 18th-century building is located in central Guanajuato, next to the Unión Gardens and the Juárez Theatre. The charming rooms come with cable TV and a private bathroom.

although the location was fantastic and the facilities were clean, I had no hot water for 2 days. when I checked in, I spoke with the front desk (very apologetic), same thing on the 2nd day. If you are going to Guanajuato to see the Historical Center...
If you are going to Guanajuato to see the Historical Center and be near restaurants and shops, find a place close to the center. Especially if you are older or have mobility issues. There are many steps and hills to get almost anywhere.

We loved Guanajuato and would go back sometime.
We loved Guanajuato and would go back sometime. We were only there two nights as a quick stop on our drive home to the US. It's an amazing city with the mining history and tunnels carved in the mountain. The architecture in the historic center is gorgeous, many buildings are from the 1700 and 1800s. We loved climbing the hill to the statue for the view as well as just wandering and exploring. There are all kinds of restaurants and street food, music in the streets every night and lots of shops of souvenirs. We recommend spending several days here.

Small, wonderful, kaleidoscopic, walkable, and friendly city to visit and explore. Great range of activities available: art and architecture, museums and music venues and food options (from street food on up) and hiking in the surrounding hills. Speaking Spanish helps, even if at a rudimentary level like mine. Guanajuato is an easy to just be. And if you forget the sunscreen ... farmacias to the rescue! Enjoy your visit.

It is a beautiful city with lots to explore.
It is a beautiful city with lots to explore. It is more historic and lots of walking but we enjoyed. My kids enjoyed it even with it not being a lot of attractions geared towards children. Lots of street vendors and delicious foods.

The people were very friendly.
The people were very friendly. A lot of walking goes on with very little other transportation. There are definitely a huge number of people walking the street that usually come up from the tunnels. The tunnels being the major source of entrance into the city. The parks are usually full of people walking around and in the evenings they have lots of songs and and other activities.
The location of the hotel is outstanding. It is in the middle of the Centro Histórico. We were able to walk everyone. There are lots of restaurants and cool sightseeing spots. The shower had a lot of pressure which made showers super relaxing. The room was also very clean and got cleaned towels and water each day. We will definitely stay there again. Transportation was very accessible from the hotel as well. We used taxis, Uber, and tours right outside from the hotel.
I am currently traveling all over the beautiful country of Mexico, and Martin (owner) has by far been the best host. He pays attention to every single detail. He goes above and beyond to maintain his property as impecable and presentable as possible. Martin ensures your stay at his hotel AND Guanajuato is a most enjoyable one. I am highly satisfied with my experience and I highly recommend this beautiful hotel to the savvy traveler. 😎
Everything! Our stay at Sanbernabe Tres with Veronica and Rafael was certainly one of the highlights of our 5 months in Mexico. The house is so thoughtfully and beautifully restored, a real treasure, every inch is to be enjoyed. Veronica and Rafael have thought of everything a guest could possibly need and are there to help and we did need their help with several things! Staying at Sanbernabe Tres is a real treat.
The service and staff at Hotel La Casona de Don Lucas made our stay very enjoyable with their help arranging our tours and information on fun things to do and visit. Great bunch of friendly people. - Guanajuato is a friendly beautiful city with lots of great places to visit, and "The Callejeneadas" is something not to miss, as is tour with lots of fun the music. We would love to return someday.
Incredible central location. Literally in Centro. But not noisy. Had a balcony where we could enjoy a coffee and watch the city go by.
Huge room, big beds, lots of space and storage. Rooms cleaned daily, really well.
Breakfast included was a buffet. All fresh and delicious.
Water fountains on site for fresh filtered drinking water and the wifi is fast.
I love that this hotel is in a neighborhood just uphill from Plaza Baratillo. Paulina is a lovely person and a fabulous hostess. Casa Azul is a rambling old house with loads of character, and lots of stairs. I'd begin each day on the roof terrace with coffee, listening to the roosters and church bells, and enjoying the incredible views over the city!
The location could not be better. The hotel is located on the main plaza where almost everything happens. The real highlight, however, is the staff. They were all friendly and extremely helpful, especially the young woman who supervises the reservations in 1850 and their sister hotel Sterling. My wife and I highly recommend Boutique Hotel 1850.
A smart but stylish space which the owner has carefully thought about all the details for .
e.g. a garrafon of drinking water supplied - a surprisingly rare thing in Mexico!
Wi-fi nice and fast.
All clean and tidy, with useful cooking facilities and basics (salt, oil etc).
Great location right near town, situated in a locked compound.
This was my best experience in Mexico! the staff are so so freaking abd helpful! they helped me with everything which made my train very special! the location is perfect, in the city center and close from everything! I was able to use the washing machine for free and there is a nice restaurant downstairs:)
Only the city view on the top roof is excellent. The owner service is friendly and good. However, I'm NOT satisfy the price that I paid but NO "HOT water", NO air condition.... If you only want to take a beautiful city view photo, it OK. Otherwise, I suggest you go to the "Real 3 stars" hotel in the city.
Casa de Colores was fantastic! A beautiful and unique property reminiscent of traditional Mexico.
The owner is so nice and very helpful.
The included breakfast was wonderful, as well.
I'd recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the beautiful city of Guanajuato.
I particularly liked that this hotel is unlike any other: distinctive decoration, distribution & shape of rooms, access to two rooftops with gorgeous views over Guanajuato… The hotel was relatively quiet, despite being a 3min-walk away from Jardin del Union.
The 1850 is located on the main square where all of the life of the city is happening! It is central to everything that a visitor might want to see. The hotel itself is modern, well furnished and comfortable. The staff is cheerful and very accommodating.
Secure parking at another nearby location.
Bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure.
Hotel is close to everything wonderful about Guanajuato!
Buffet breakfast was available in hotel.
Accommodation is close to city center. Small but super comfortable room, they even set up a little tea place with kettle, glasses, mugs, few packets of tea and coffee (which is rare in Mexico).
it was an amazing 19th century property that has been refurbished and fitted out with beautiful artefacts from across Mexico. the hosts are very nice and friendly and helpful
