Businesses on the front road Calle MANUAL DOBLADO are excellent, from breakfasts at the French Riviera to .. there's an excellent massage (facials too) place just up the road CAPRICHO,, t's perfect! To stay tacos El FOGON And I have to give props to the most delicious Italian restaurant we went to twice there's something about Their Caesar salad and I'm pretty sure the pizza's and pasta all homemade sauces, incredible wine recommendation.. is Petros down in the tourist art district. We loved the festivities, the fireworks were the best we've ever send in our lives, the love music in the plaza, the exceptional friendly kindness of the people.. the marina! The beaches! Old Town charm! Except it's sad to see that the Tropicana is under perpetual remodel and takes away from the original character that it always had been so don't do that no upgrades keep it original... Keep the Old Town charm keep the franchises out of it no Little Caesars no Subway.. Don't let the foreigners buy anything. Don't let the foreigners tell you what to do keep your festivities up until 3 AM if you want to... Keep doing what you always have done and just don't change it's perfect the way it is

We wanted to visit San Jose for a day before heading down to our time share ( of 20 years) in Cabo San Lucas. We liked the center of the town, the main street is full of local charm and small businesses, There is a stage on the main plaza with the old church and in the evening we saw dancers in colourful costumes. There are plenty of small stores and family restaurants, souvenir and food distractions.
We recommend tourists stop at San Jose on their way down to the big sophisticated resorts and immerse in the real atmosphere of the local culture.

In my Mexico experience, San Jose is a "high end"
tourist village,,,,, just what I expected,, considering all the
resorts. It is not "my" desired Mexico experience, but, I had to
visit once..If you wander away from the resorts, you can find
some real food, and local events.

Very nice place, but the vendors will try and scam you so watch out. We attempted to purchase a tour from a vendor, and he tried to book us with a timeshare presentations even though we told them no. The stores are overpriced, and more expensive than in the US so we didn't purchase anything as we felt the vendors were trying to rip us off by jacking the price up.

San Jose del Cabo was great, so much better than Cabo San Lucas, which is a busy party town. The only reason I went there was to take a boat to El Arco(the Arch) which was totally worth it. SJDC is laid back and Marisol Boutique Hotel is steps from the beach. Baja is so different than the rest of Mx, different food, and more expensive for sure.

San Jose del Cabo is a great place to visit.
San Jose del Cabo is a great place to visit. They have an art walk every Thursday night. They have an Organic Farmer's market every Saturday. The Sea of Cortez is beautiful. And of course lots of sun and nice temperatures in January/February.

Extremely friendly & attentive staff- we travel to Cabo or Cancun multiple times a year & have stayed at a variety of resorts, but this was hands down some of the best service we have ever had. The hotel was also very clean- good size room for a junior suite & the decor of the rooms were more Spanish style (vs. modern) but still quite nice. Also had friends stay in a Casita and those were perfect for a group trip for everyone to hang out. Overall amazing stay!
Excellent location. Extremely clean with great staff and management. Hotel provided beach chairs, beach umbrella and ice cooler for beverages. Very quiet location with access to bus, Uber, or taxi. Very easy to get around San Jose del Cabo. Management and staff were helpful with restaurant and site seeing information. Hotel is a couple hundred meters from a very nice beach. We has an outstanding stay at this boutique hotel.
We like to come into San Jose del Cabo for a night or two and stay in/near city town center. We use to stay at Tropicana and now that it’s closed we found this place and absolutely love the location. Love the French bakery next door. The hotel was quiet and clean and for the price we have no complaints. We had a truck and they have underground parking.
Hotel Santa Maria was an excellent value for money stay, with clean, well kept facilities, and attentive, friendly staff. Our room on the 3rd floor was spacious and clean. It featured a balcony, with peek a boo views of the ocean.
We thoroughly enjoyed our complimentary breakfast every morning, before setting out exploring San Jose del Cabo.
The proximity to the airport was why I booked this hotel. I had late/early flights, so this was the best choice for me. I was also able to easily access the public bus into Cabo San Lucas, which I highly suggest (if you want to save money and have about an hour available for travel time).
Although the hotel is not located on the beach, compared to the other hotels of the same category in San Jose, this one is the best. The view does it all, because without that view the hotel could be just one more in that category. It is a good option for resting, as it is very quiet.
Staff is dynamic and caring. I needed a place to sleep I let my bike for a week and they agreed immediately without any for more money or anything. The owner just wants people to have great time in San Jose del Cabo.
And I did!
loved the boutique feel, the smallness of the property in comparison to the huge resorts around it, the decor, my comfy room, the sweet and ever helpful staff, the beach, the cool water of the pool to dip into.
Amazing location! Especially for a surfer! The room was spacious and very clean with large comfortable beds and lounges. Impressive infinity pool with a nice bar right on the beach.
Super close to downtown and close to the airport. Small resort which makes it convenient with kids. The kids water slide area was perfect for my youngest daughter who’s 6.
Location is great can walk from terminal 1 or 2, just look for tall building when coming out of airport and that's the hotel. Good breakfast, they have a restaurant.
Very nice boutique hotel. A small beach...almost private. Food in general is very good. Breakfast from booking is continental and only include fruit and bread.
It’s a hipsterish hotel in San Jose, good beach accessible by an electric boat, nice pool area. generally nice choice, lot better than large American resorts
