Suppose is a nice city, but poor management by city council. Need more upgrade on the place, dusty and dirty roads. Too many traffic lights, not properly planned. People are throwing rubbish everywhere, even from cars. No enforcement, no proper management by the council is the main cause.

We didn't find much to do in Kota Bahru.
We didn't find much to do in Kota Bahru. We were there on a public holiday so not sure if that affected how many places were open. The area we stayed was pretty dead. We visited the street art which was very beautiful. We had a look at the river which was close to where we stayed. It was brown and murky and quite disgusting. We used this as a stop over before heading to the Perhentian Islands but wished we had kept going. We ate at the Barat Bistro. We were the only customer at the time but the food was excellent.

I really enjoy my staycation in Kota Bharu. Their people are nice and polite. Their society are simple, and I enjoyed their local food especially Laksam, Nasi Dagang, Nasi Ulam Cikgu, Coal grilled sea food which really fresh, sup belut and many more. I travelled near end of august. Turn out it rained almost every night. Hence night outdoor activity is less convenient. Pantai cahaya bulan has several good food stall there. U can enjoy your meal beside the beach with sea view. Those who like Batik can find alot of batik stores at trade centre which is located just opposite of Pasar khatijah. With regards to the room, you get what you pay for, so don't expect any 5star hotel room. It is very near the airport and the transfer by Fauzi is fast and the costs are very reasonable. On top, we were shown their Durian trees and could even taste the fruits. The fishing was not so successful but funny.
