I love Ipoh because the food is great, the old town is easy and fun. I have friends there so it is different. I don't care for much of the rest but they are there if you want to do it. This was only a short stop over for me.
This was only a short stop over for me. And it was mainly for food. Had the Beggar's Chicken which was brilliant and the tau foo fah at Funny Mountain was brilliant. The one we usually went to (near Concubine Lane) was closed and we found this one at Funny Mountain. It was so good we went back the next day to have another go before leaving Ipoh. Our morning breakfast was Dim Sum at Zhen Hi Hao which is brilliant. The atmosphere was great. It was not noisy like some of the other "so-called" popular ones. And the food is truly good. Hotel Pi is located directly opposite the famous Pusing Restaurant which I highly recommend if you want Chinese food (non halal) and the Pasar Karat is just along the road in front of the hotel every Sunday morning.
