Fantastic place with many tourist attraction sites including the highest peak point of the sand dunes, Atlantic Ocean on one end with bringing cold stream from Benguela currents and on the other a taste of the semi-desert hot air.

I am from Hermanus, South Africa.
I am from Hermanus, South Africa. This was my first time in Walvis Bay. I was immensely impressed and content with Walvis Bay, its people, environs, environment, and so much more.
There are nice second-hand stores and thrift stores to purchase local clothing and tourist items at a lower price.
Shopping is great.
The walks are wonderful.
It is not hot as one would expect from Namibia.
The flora and fauna are beautiful.
Do not forget to eat at Godenfang - the most wonderful and fresh food ever.
We did not have an automobile. It was easy to hale a taxi on any street to take us anywhere - even to Swakopmund, which is 30 minutes to the North.
Go and have an adventure.

I do not know about restaurants to visit in Walvis Bay, as well as the activities to do besides the boat rides. So I basically dinned at the hotel I was booked in. I also do not find it easy to get around Walvis Bay so I avoided the hassle of getting lost and enjoyed the facilities at the hotel.

The hotel was perfectly situated, between the town and lagoon. And this made long or short walks perfect. The area is peaceful and gives you a sense of security, as well as the friendly and helpful residents and staff. The harbour is close with beautiful scenery and excellent restaurants.

Its always great to be at the coast, perfect weather with lots of activities- climbing dune 7, boat rides, camel rides and lots of fun too at the beach with shopping of course at the new mall. I always go for seafood when I'm that side. It is indeed very easy to navigate Walvis Bay because everything is sign posted clearly.

We did the Catamaran tour, Fantastic... Dune 7 sandboarding a must for all visitors. Did a few runs at the Dunes Mall, very friendly service from all the stores. could find everything we needed. Sunday lunch buffet at Goanikontes Oasis, five stars.
I stayed here more then 10yrs ago and revisit this cosy gem and found it has changed ownership to the Taiwanese. Place still very well kept but slight renovation to expand the dining areas and outdoor garden was removed sadly which I loved the lawn. The cosy living sofa that used to be was also gone to my dismay but I can understand changes maybe required by new owner. I’m glad they kept 80% of the original looks and furnitures which adds to the nostalgic part of this wonderful boutique hotel which I adores.
Perfect location, with a superb view over the bay. The two-story apartment is beautiful, very well equipped with everything one might need for a short or long stay. The main room, the secondary room, the living room and the bath all look directly toward the lagoon. So, have a relaxing bath in the bathtub! There are also facilities for a BBQ.
Location is very convenient if you are planning to take a tour out to Sandwich Harbor with one of the agencies out there, since they can pick you up there.
My room had an attached garage (great for those who are self driving Namibia!), I’m not sure if every room has it but it helped me ensure my stuff was safe! The owner and his girlfriend were extremely friendly and helpful and lived on the property to provide recommendations or in case anything went wrong. The bed was really comfy, the shower was hot, and there was Netflix in my room which helps provide some extra relaxation in the middle of a trip. I really enjoyed my stay :)
Wow, we were welcomed by the owner, Johann, who is such a friendly and welcoming person. He goes beyond measures to make you feel at home and to explore the beautiful Walvis Bay. He took us on the most amazing private tour - for his guests only- into the dunes and around the peninsula. It is a must see!
Our rooms, breakfast and stay in general was fantastic. Bella Luna is definitely highly recommended, I know I will be back!
Dankie Johann!
Exceptional staff, made the travel and experience so much more incredible. Miriam specifically went above and beyond to help me arrange day trips. The hotel location overlooks the ocean with incredible sunset views and flamingos galore. The decide was beautiful, cozy and tasteful. Beautiful setting and incredible kind and helpful staff - can’t beat this experience.
The hotel is very clean, perfect location, I love morning and afternoon runs, by the beach, this was the best location. Worth every penny I've spent. I went for privacy, quite and comfort and I got just that. food was awesome. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. Thank you so much. Totally recommend this place.
The service was excellent, the rooms were spacious and the breakfast was out of this world. This is Honestly the best hotel I have ever been to. I will definitely come back in the near future. If you ever want to come to Walvis bay, The Penthouse is the perfect place for you.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very good option in Walvis Bay for a short stopover. Private garage available. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was really delicious and prepared with love. Felt really welcome.
A good address in Walvis bay, just on the esplanade, a walk away from the flamingos and the restaurants down the jetty.
Nice and clean room with good breakfast included.
I liked that I had my own privacy, no noise pollution and it is close to the lagoon. The bedroom was phenomenal. Everyone is super friendly, made me feel at home.
Modern, stylish, and comfortable apartment in an upmarket area of Walvis Bay.
Some basic kitchen utensils eg egg lifter, tongs are needed for self catering.
Clean, excellent WiFi, advice and tips from owner outstanding. Customer service and friendliness- outstanding. I will stay here when next in Walvis Bay.
