Casa Esperanza SJDS is in the La Talanguera area, and is a 5 minute walk to the beach, and a 15 minute walk to the action in town. The lower level has a large patio with lots of seating and a BBQ. Down the stairs from the patio is the plunge pool. The upstairs balcony has a great view of the surrounding landscape, including the main beach in front of town. This balcony is accessible from both bedrooms and has a small seating area as well. Our air-conditioned, two-story condo has two bedrooms upstairs, both with their own bathrooms with showers, and with access to the upstairs balcony views. Downstairs is a fully stocked kitchen, dining area, and living room with internet and Netflix, as well as a 2 piece bathroom. The entire condo unit is yours to enjoy. There are 4 other condos in our complex, and the plunge pool as well as the laundry facilities are shared. The parking lot gates are kept closed at night, and there is a security guard on duty 24/7. Please note that while children are welcome to be part of your group, there is no way to block off access to the stairs, and the pool area is NOT fenced in. You are responsible for their safety at all times!
My wife and I are confident that you will enjoy your stay at Casa Esperanza SJDS as much as we do (when we get there!) The unit was recently renovated (completed July 2018) and is a comfortable place to stay. We have a local property manager, located in San Juan del Sur, that will oversee your check in/out, and also be available to contact during your stay, should you need any advice or assistance with anything at the property. Our property manager not only manages our unit, but also manages the entire complex of 5 units. Please note that due to the high cost of electricity in Nicaragua, we allow 25 kw/H of electricity usage per day. Any excess usage is charged to you at check-out. You can easily control your electricity usage by only using the air conditioning units when you are in the rooms. There are three separately controllable air conditioning units....one in each bedroom and one larger unit on the main floor. Simply turn off the bedroom units when you are not in the bedrooms and turn off the main floor unit if everyone is upstairs sleeping. When you leave the unit, turn off ALL air conditioning units.
The La Talanguera neighborhood is located on the northern section of San Juan del Sur Beach (Playa San Juan del Sur.) Our unit is a short, 3 block walk to get to the beach. A further 10 minute walk along the beach gets you into the town, where most of the restaurants and bars are located. Close enough to get there, but away from all of the hustle and bustle of town! We generally enjoy walking into town along the beach, but if our return trip is at night, which we find it usually is, there are plenty of taxis to take you right to the gate into our property. The Christ of the Mercy Statue is located in our neighborhood, and you can walk up the hill to see the sweeping views of San Juan del Sur Bay and surrounding areas!
