Set in tropical landscaped grounds, Central Cottages is a unique collection of private holiday homes of all sizes, each featuring a stylish interior style and secluded entertainer's garden.
Melanie and I first met when she came to work for my parents at the Parkham Hotel, Brixham Devon, England. We married in 1984 after study and a two-year spell running a motel. There is no doubt we are 'Chalk and Cheese” with Melanie following a career working with people being a natural extrovert, whilst as a natural introvert myself, I pursued a career in Radio Frequency design. ​ In 2002 we emigrated to Christchurch, New Zealand, where we witnessed the earthquakes. During our time in Christchurch we had Sherry our King Charles Cavalier dog, who we sadly lost but not before we rescued Sooty our cat, a very large and affectionate cat that loves meeting guests. In 2015 our son James and Larissa gave us our beautiful granddaughter Kahla. They live just outside Christchurch and are just loving the farm life with Larissa’s parents; Wayne and Michelle, learning how to keep Bees and farm life in general. When I was offered a job in Albany we moved to Warkworth and we bought Millwood House – a purpose built three-bedroom Bed and Breakfast, where Melanie’s culinary skills baking homemade Muesli, Jams and Biscuits became legendary on the internet and deservedly so – she is a great cook.

Just a short walk away is the artisan village of Kerikeri, fast becoming known for it's award winning vineyards, gourmet offerings, boutique shopping and weekend markets. Those with a vehicle will find stunning scenery through the Far North, up 90 Mile Beach to Cape Reinga. Join a tour for daredevil sandboarding at the Opononi dunes, swimming with dolphins in Paihia or paddleboarding down the Kerikeri inlet.
