New Plymouth was just fantastic. It is a stunning place to visit - beautiful coastal walks - fantastic art works right throughout the city and the most exquisite gardens. I totally loved New Plymouth and will certainly return.

We loved the location of the Millimium being waterfront and so handy to great cafes shops boutique breweries amd galleries which all we tried were found to be exceptional. Plus we loved the direct access to the board walk to the port past an impressive swimming pool complex then later walked along the pathway in the other direction the Fitzroy beach which had a cafe and outdoor setting on the beach. The whole city seemed safe and attractive and a great place to visit and probably a great place to live.

Good sized room and ensuite.
Good sized room and ensuite. All absolutely spotless and very comfortable. Useful facilities.
Nicely positioned off the main road so nice and quiet but close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Not too far to coast with beaches and coastal path. Friendly and helpful owner with a good knowledge of area and enthusiasm when recommending things to see and do.

At first wasn’t too sure about New Plymouth but the more we walked around the city the more we liked it. It’s a very tidy city with lots of amazing murals painted on buildings, tidy and clean with every shop you could think off. It is handy to the foreshore and a beautiful walkway and within a few hundred metres from beautiful Pukekura Park on other side of township, a must visit.

Awesome place to stay with a good location. Very calm in a nice neighbourhood and yet close to New Plymouth. Christine and her hubby are very welcoming, from day one they really made us feel like home. She is so friendly, such an excellent host and attentive to all details that make a great BnB. We had everything we needed and more. Thank you so much for having us at your home. We had a wonderful holiday and we’ll definitely look to stay here again in the future.
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heta Road BB.We were greeted warmly by our host Carol. We had everything we needed. Our room was cosy and clean. With breakfast provided the next morning.Shared kitchenette which was great and access to lovely outdoor area.Thank you so much Heta Road B&B, I would highly recommend this B&B.I know next time I'll probably stay longer than 1 night to get the full benefits, including having a nice soak in spa pool😊
We travel a lot and stay in a variety of accomodations from airbnb/batches/hotels and motels. I can honestly say Ratanui exceeded all of the above. The setting is peaceful, host exceptionally friendly, the grounds are beautiful and our villa was modern, impeccably clean, well appointed and the bed was so comfortable and cosy we didnt want to leave. Thank you so much, these weary grandparents are rejuvinated.
This is difficult to review as we didn't end up staying there because the unit had a broken shower that morning & no other units available! However the manager was most apologetic and had booked a room at the Plymouth International Hotel up the road. She hopped in the car with us as a guide and facilitated the check in & prepaid the room. The hotel has a 4 star rating (8) and was roomy & comfortable
Good location, walking distance to the centre of New Plymouth. Nice to find a relatively inexpensive room/suite/converted flat that could accommodate 5 adults in reasonable comfort. Dilmah tea, sugar, biscuits, and one decent coffee bag topped up daily. Decent beds and towels for this price range. A good amount of space and a good-sized dining table for a family room.
I have stayed a few times at the Devon Hotel and never had a bad experience. Rooms are always tidy and clean. Staff are always friendly. Hence why I stay at the Devon when i come to New Plymouth. Might not be right in the city center but close enough. There is always some level of noise but generally at night it is quiet and peaceful.
Superb breakfast!! Like it is very very nice! Definitely book a room with breakfast. Ideal before of after the hike in Egmont Park. We booked this hotel last minute after the hike and were excited to have a spa bath in the room. The room is spacious. (No kitchen in the room as most accommodations have). Free parking.
The property was very well maintained and had a stunning pool area and our room was amazing with a large spa bath. The staff were so lovely and upgraded us to a suite when we arrived. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel in their restaurant and both meals were delicious
This must be the cleanest motel we have stayed in. It was spotless, the shower sparkled.
We really appreciated the air con as New Plymouth was very hot overnight. Comfy beds and I liked the wood panelling. We watched Netflix on the TV using the Motels account
(not ours).
Friendly, knowledgeable staff on arrival, great communication regarding limited reception hours. Room was clean and tidy, spa bath was nice, location was central, so everything was within walking distance. No problem finding a carpark in the hotel carpark. Great price.
Due to the fact that we only needed the room to sleep and then sort ourselves in the morning, the accommodation was perfect. The price was affordable(cheaper comparatively) and although the standard room is a basic hotel room it met our needs.
Could not fault the location, ideal to get to and from New Plymouth, breakfast options were good. Mary was exceptionally helpful and always willing to share information on the area and New Zealand. Super friendly. Would come back 100%
These rooms are cheaper than rooms in the main hotel and for that you get a compact but perfectly planned comfortable room , the plaza that the rooms overlook has some amazing food and drink outlets - very convenient
I enjoyed the facilities and the helpfulness of the young staff member on the bar to assistance and advice for dinner options when I got back to the hotel late after a long business meeting in the town.
Fabulous apartment with fantastic views of the river (especially from the bedroom) Quiet and secluded location. Stringly recommend a night or two here, Very convenient for New Plymouth
