A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown.
A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown. I could've stayed here weeks. It was a great location to be based at for Roy's Peak Summit, more hiking and days spent by the lake. Bonus activity was a dinner and movie night at Cinema Paradiso. A really lovely town with a very live-able atmosphere.

Wanaka itself is a lovely spot.
Wanaka itself is a lovely spot. It was lovely without being too much of a tourist trap. The art gallery I visited was very good, and the two local restaurants also good and reasonably priced. The staff at the Thai restaurant were especially friendly and helpful. I wish I had stayed long enough to drive out to a few places from Wanaka.

Great place to spend week.
Great place to spend week. Central to other destinations , good weather, all year round activities, good shopping, lots of resurants, friendly locals and a short drive to Queenstown Airport. (they may have their own soon)
The apartment was amazing. Very homely. very quiet location. Loved the proximity to the Cardrona Hotel (2 min walk), we had more than 1 exceptional meal there. The apartment had everything you could possibly want and then even more. excellent for self catering. The layout was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We went into Wanaka most days for activities which is only a 15 minute drive and the drive is very easy. Plenty to see and do in the area. Thanks.
Everything was perfect! Location couldn’t be better! A really cozy apartment with a fireplace for cold times and an A/C to fight the intense heat of summer. Excellent kitchen with everything one may need. Super good and modern shower. A deck with a wooden table and chairs with the lake view for meals outside. And of course a super friendly host!
Definitely the best hotel among all those that we stayed in during out trip on the South Island!
The location is great. Neighborhood is quiet and safe and still close to Wanaka. We enjoyed the house, walk around the neighborhood, trails in Wanaka area.
The house is well equipped and well maintained. Everything was very clean. The hosts were great as well and made sure that our stay was comfortable. They had very clear instructions and house rules and provided great information about the area.
The view was really incredible and the room was pretty comfortable. The food in the hotel restaurant was quite good. Nice bar, with good atmosphere. A short walk up the road to another little cafe and store was convenient and the food there was also very good. Access to trails and the beach was very close by and they had bikes we could use for free. Very nice. Staff was great.
Cozy motel, just few minutes walk to all the restaurants, bars, shops and grocery stores. Our host was very informative and helpful, showing us all the attractions of Wanaka. Apartment has everything you need for a short or longer stays. Highly recommended stay. Clean and very comfortable beds.
This was a SPECTACULAR home away from home, close to town with magnificent views of the lake and snow capped mountains. It felt like a home not a hotel, and we were so comfortable for our stay in Wanaka. The beds were comfy, it was warm and had everything we needed.
The rural setting was beautiful. Waking up to SILENCE was FABULOUS !! Unlike staying in a motel or hotel .... there was no-one else to make noise or interrupt your stay .... THAT, made it all wonderful. We would stay again and recommend it to family and friends.
Wonderful family hostel convenient to town and trails in Wanaka. Super clean common areas with everything you need. Very organized. Hot tub and BBQ are great extras. Hosts are super nice and helpful. Just wish we could have stayed longer.
Apartment had wonderful view of Lake Wanaka, was quite large, and very well-equipped, including heat pump, laundry facilities, and dishwasher. Grounds had beautiful flowers. Location was walking distance to grocery stores and the town.
Self contained cottage was cute, compact, cosy and clean.
Steve gave us a friendly welcome ably assisted by his canine companion, Beau. The friendly vibe was duplicated at the local hotel where we were greeted as if we were regulars.
Nice “old style” resort hotel, near the lake and all restaurants and bars. Friendly staff, good parking, updated bathroom, good size room and balcony. Not sure why it’s only a 3 star, way better than some 4 star hotels.
This hotel is exceptional. The lake views are gorgeous and the staff goes out of their way to accommodate their guests. The apartment is cosy and well-stocked. We can’t wait to stay here again; it was hard to leave!
Excellent hotel, on-site restaurant with stunning views of the lake - although we did not eat in. Very helpful staff at reception who gave good local information about the area. Views from our room were spectacular.
Very friendly and welcoming owners. Location is within easy walking distance of downtown Wanaka. The motel was very clean and neat, and quiet. Ample parking.
