I was blown away. The rooms are all beautifully fitted out, spotlessly clean and well supplied. The hosts were friendly, responsive and accommodating with our requests. One street back from the main road and very close to the park means it was close enough to everything and very peaceful at the same time. I will definitely be choosing Goldenleaf for my next visit.

We were down house hunting which was a bit of a stressful time for us, and extended our stay. The staff were so accommodating and filled our needs, which just took a load off us.
The room was just great and had everything we needed.
Would definitely stay again for cleanliness and friendliness and will be recommending to others.

Very tidy, cosy unit with everything and Fox TV options. Location was very central and across the road from a Countdown shopping centre and Fat Bastard Pies - so all culinary needs are catered to. Beds very comfortable. Owner very helpful with our questions.

Unfortunately the visitors centre was closed in 2020, so there was no information about what to see and how to achieve this. We were recommended to visit Stewart Island, apparently being the main attraction. You needed to book online but there was no information
about the trip. At a cost of $200 each, rather expensive. Drove to Bluff to find out for ourselves, 30 kms but even less information. Very disappointing. Not much in the way of restaurants unless you are in to Asian food. One shopping centre, not much in it.

Nice flat walking, the new mall has all the usual shops plus some additional surprises. Shopping is great, streets very clean, Queens Park is lovely and well cared for and there is a lot of city centre development going on with improvements for locals and visitors alike. Amigos restaurant if you like chili and Mexican food is worth a try.

Great city on the up.
Great city on the up. Good selection of eateries and things to do and see. Most attractions are fairly close to the centre, and the airport is 5 minutes from there. I can happily recommend Invercargill for a visit.

Invercargill has a lot to offer. Queen's Park is a must-see. Aside from the beautiful gardens, there are nice bird aviaries and farmyard animals. It's a great place for families with a nice playground and cafe. Bill Richardson Transport World is a highlight, along with Oreti Beach which Bert Munro used as a race track. Hubber's Emporium and E Hayes are fantastic shops with many interesting things to see. There is a nice new mall and we found some good places to eat

This is a clean city with no obvious homelessness problem.
This is a clean city with no obvious homelessness problem. It is well provided with facilities and retail outlets. Some of the shops like Hubber's Emporium are just fascinating. The people are friendly. It is close to Bluff and marvelous beaches. I've heard it's not so good on a rainy day, but I wouldn't know. I would love to live in Invercargill but I feel they don't need more "northies" to come and push property values up. I will remain a grateful tourist.
As we have stayed before this Ascot Park Hotel is a favourite for our visits to Invercargill to see very close friends!! Cannot fault this hotel at all! All staff and meals and room service is great !We opted for a motel room with kitchenette and it was great to be able to be self sufficient for our breakfast with plenty of room and often enjoyed pool table and meals in Sports Bar.
It was close to town, food, park. Nice to have laundry facilities free. Haven't had that anywhere else on our trip and was much needed. Nice having a carport as we could pack the car without getting wet. Owner was very helpful on where to eat. Very clean. Considering cost of other motels we stayed at it was very reasonable.
Beautiful and peaceful property just outside of Invercargill. One-bedroom house in a lovely garden setting is spacious, comfortable and clean. Kitchenette is nicely equipped, and laundry facilities are a real bonus. Garden views and the birdsong in the morning are especially pleasant.
The Kelvin hotel is great. Its less than 2 minutes walk to the main center and has a great restaurant and a relaxed atmosphere at the bar.
Free parking secure parking is available on request.
The staff are really nice, polite, happy and informative.
Great stuff, Kelvin Hotel.
The hotel is in a good location, close to eateries, shops and bars. The staff were friendly. It's a budget hotel, however the room was fine, and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was functional. The hotel's parking included unlimited entry and exit.
Beiing In the Center of the City Center.
Very impressed how they did the old Post Office up with out knocking it down!
So close to the new Mall, bars and coffee shops. Its a different Invercargill that I once knew.
Will stay again!
I stay in a lot of motels all over NZ, and I have never stayed in a motel this clean before, it was absolutely spotless. The hosts were amazing, and were a great help when I arrived late. Great Southan hospitality.
Budget friendly apartments everything you need the apartment was spotless undercover parking in the one bed apartment bed was very comfortable and it was only a short walk into town the owner was very friendly
Clean, comfortable stop whilst driving the Southern Scenic Route. Reception was welcoming and gave good information. Fairly basic accommodation but location on the edge of Invercargill was great.
excellent stay which really surprised us given experiences staying in Invercargill decades ago! Worth upgrading to the suite as we did cos lovely room with good outlook and good value for money
Location was excellent as it allowed easy access to everything we wanted to do in a quieter location than some of the motels in Invercargill. Also it was very comfortable accommodation.
