    New Plymouth was just fantastic.

New Plymouth was just fantastic. It is a stunning place to visit - beautiful coastal walks - fantastic art works right throughout the city and the most exquisite gardens. I totally loved New Plymouth and will certainly return.

We loved the location of the Millimium being waterfront and so handy to great cafes shops boutique breweries amd galleries which all we tried were found to be exceptional. Plus we loved the direct access to the board walk to the port past an impressive swimming pool complex then later walked along the pathway in the other direction the Fitzroy beach which had a cafe and outdoor setting on the beach. The whole city seemed safe and attractive and a great place to visit and probably a great place to live.

    Good sized room and ensuite.

Good sized room and ensuite. All absolutely spotless and very comfortable. Useful facilities. Nicely positioned off the main road so nice and quiet but close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Not too far to coast with beaches and coastal path. Friendly and helpful owner with a good knowledge of area and enthusiasm when recommending things to see and do.

At first wasn’t too sure about New Plymouth but the more we walked around the city the more we liked it. It’s a very tidy city with lots of amazing murals painted on buildings, tidy and clean with every shop you could think off. It is handy to the foreshore and a beautiful walkway and within a few hundred metres from beautiful Pukekura Park on other side of township, a must visit.

We love that New Plymouth is easy to get around and offers so many activities for all age groups. Being a three Generation Family Group we were all able to find / do something. Be it as a Group or age appropriate. We came to see the light show Which was Awesome and to see what else the area has for travellers, having been there once before ,we enjoyed it enough to return and it did not disappoint.🌻🚶🚴🏌️🏔️🌳🌤️🏄🏃 Robyn

The motel was a short walk to the centre of the city and just across the road from Pukekura Park so a very convenient location. There was a small block of shops within a short waling distance but you would need a longer walk or take the car if you were looking for a supermarket. It was on a main road but it wasn't noisy. Beds were very comfortable and linen was clean. The room had a spa bath but the press switch for the bubbles did not work. It was still nice to have a bath, especially after a day out walking/hiking.

Awesome place to stay with a good location. Very calm in a nice neighbourhood and yet close to New Plymouth. Christine and her hubby are very welcoming, from day one they really made us feel like home. She is so friendly, such an excellent host and attentive to all details that make a great BnB. We had everything we needed and more. Thank you so much for having us at your home. We had a wonderful holiday and we’ll definitely look to stay here again in the future.

We travel a lot and stay in a variety of accomodations from airbnb/batches/hotels and motels. I can honestly say Ratanui exceeded all of the above. The setting is peaceful, host exceptionally friendly, the grounds are beautiful and our villa was modern, impeccably clean, well appointed and the bed was so comfortable and cosy we didnt want to leave. Thank you so much, these weary grandparents are rejuvinated.

I have stayed a few times at the Devon Hotel and never had a bad experience. Rooms are always tidy and clean. Staff are always friendly. Hence why I stay at the Devon when i come to New Plymouth. Might not be right in the city center but close enough. There is always some level of noise but generally at night it is quiet and peaceful.

We had such an amazing stay. Warren is very lovely guy to deal with. Room was absolutely spot clean. Location is great, short walk to city centre bars and restaurants. We travelled with little kids and appreciated it was so close to playground with stunning sea views. We will be returning again if we are in New Plymouth.

Superb breakfast!! Like it is very very nice! Definitely book a room with breakfast. Ideal before of after the hike in Egmont Park. We booked this hotel last minute after the hike and were excited to have a spa bath in the room. The room is spacious. (No kitchen in the room as most accommodations have). Free parking.

Ducks and Drakes is a great option for accommodation in New Plymouth. Location is approx 2 blocks from the main CBD area so a very easy walk and then down onto the waterfront. Brett was a wonderful host and so were Zulu and Aroha! Would recommend to anyone travelling through New Plymouth, will stay again.

The property was very well maintained and had a stunning pool area and our room was amazing with a large spa bath. The staff were so lovely and upgraded us to a suite when we arrived. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel in their restaurant and both meals were delicious

This must be the cleanest motel we have stayed in. It was spotless, the shower sparkled. We really appreciated the air con as New Plymouth was very hot overnight. Comfy beds and I liked the wood panelling. We watched Netflix on the TV using the Motels account (not ours).

Due to the fact that we only needed the room to sleep and then sort ourselves in the morning, the accommodation was perfect. The price was affordable(cheaper comparatively) and although the standard room is a basic hotel room it met our needs.
