Good roads, easy to get around (no problems using gps maps) Saturday markets, fresh seafood, close to shopping centre. Our function was catered and the food was amazing. Short walk for evening swim at the beach. Close to other townships eg: Katikati.

The CBD seems alright, can be explored on foot. The highlight of our trip was Mt Maunganui. The Mount Hotpools was wonderful (pricey though), beautiful tiles, water and view. And the stretch of the Maunganui beach was just beautiful. We picked one far away from the centre (and towards Papamoa) where there was lifeguard, and truly enjoyed the waves for hours. It a great place for families who love spending time in the open water.

It is a travel destination that I definitely want to visit...
It is a travel destination that I definitely want to visit at least once a year. I would like to recommend that you climb Mount Manganui and take a hot spring bath in the salt springs. I can't forget the size and taste of Copenhagen ice cream across from the salt springs. Playing in the water or walking on the beach are healing points that cannot be missed. Cost-effectiveness of accommodation is one of the most disappointing aspects of most travel destinations.

There are plenty of bars and places to eat, the city is pleasant enough although access to the harbour is limited and the whole place is overshadowed by its proximity to Mt Maunganui and its fabulous beaches.

Nice weather. A big problem with Tauranga is the reading system - absolutely terrible road set up. Worse reading than Auckland and Wellington. Shocking road system - very messy and poor signage. High risk roads for accidents and visitors to Tauranga getting lost.StephenNew Zealand

We enjoyed being able to use the guest lounge area as well. Breakfasts were fabulous with plenty of choices - a great way to start the day. We found the location great for doing day trips (by car) to Maunganui, up towards Coromandel and down to Rotorua. Also enjoyed being able to walk to a local restaurant. WIFI connection was amazing, rooms and facilities were clean. There is a full kitchen so we were able to cook everything we needed. Host provide all the essentials like milk, tea, coffee, eggs, salt and pepper and continental breaky. Will definitely stay again. On top of everything this place was great value for money and probably the cheapest accomodation in Tauranga area.

The location is perfect for walking to all the restaurants on The Strand as well as easy access to Mount Maunganui. The kitchen, bedrooms and bedding, and bathrooms are fresh, modern, and upscale like a luxury hotel. The parking garage is fantastic and super convenient to the unit. And, Annie is a fantastic, super-responsive and accommodating host. This is our new go-to place in Tauranga / Bay of Plenty.

But the sound limiting windows make no difference to be fair. Next trip, I would opt for else where unless you are cheaper. At 280 with parking, but distributed sleep, i could have stayed at trinity wharf or mount or a few airbnbs.
