I visited the Farmers Market which was fun. I also had a takeaway meal of blue cod, oysters and homemade chips from Best Cafe. The meal was amazing.
I visited a part of the Botanic gardens which was lovely and watched a women’s rugby game at Opoho, just above the Gardens. We were treated to beautiful weather and a large flocks of wood pigeons!

It was very cold, but luckily it didn't rain and where we've stayed our heatpump was amazing. Dunedin is beautiful with very old beautiful buildings and lots of noisy students walking in the main streets until very late talking very loud and kicking rubbish bins.

St Clair beach good places to stay and eat. Easy city to get around.
Friendly people. Beautiful buildings and good shopping with helpful people. All round a lovely city, just don't stay at On Top backpackers and get ripped off. Not what I paid for/ promised by Booking.Com.
Fantastic location, very central in Dunedin and the view of the waterfront was a perk. It was next door to Moiety, where we really wanted to book dinner for a night, Unfortunately we were staying over new years so the restaurant was closed. Hotel was walking distance to downtown and rhe university, fireworks, and most restaurants and about 15min driving away from the castle. We were able to drive about 45min to the royal albatross center as well, which was very scenic.
right in the heart of St Clair. Great restaurants on the doorstep, walk on the beach, close to town. Dunedin really has the most beautiful beaches. the hotel is beautiful and old, tall ceilings, and comfy bed, it was surprisingly warm considering it is an old building. I stayed in July, so middle of winter. The Shower had good pressure. and it was a really big apartment. I didn't even use the lounge room. the photos I have uploaded are from local beaches.
The Fable chain provides both great service and facilities. Dunedin was the second Fable hotel we have visited and both the facilities and staff communication couldn't be faulted. Knowing we were arriving Christmas Day with limited restaurants open I started communicating early to ensure we were covered for dinner. Both prior to arriving and on the day the staff were great which made our Christmas dinner extremely enjoyable. Thank you
Loved everything about our stay. Gorgeous hotel, friendly staff and the bedrooms were well designed, comfortable with high-end finishes and a very luxurious bathroom.
The only suggestion I would have is to have a bit more water available.
My daughter and I absolutely loved it and will most definitely go back there.
This property is very well located, walking distance to the Octagon, Railway Satation and accross the bridge to the city cruise port (not Port Chalmers!). The focus on magic was a fun aspect of the hotel. Everything worked. No aircon (but not often needed in Dunedin) Reasonably priced, but you get what you pay for.
Great communication with John before and during our stay. Great sized bathroom and washer/dryer helped sort out our 'holiday clothes', After mastering the steep hills we did enjoy a great meal at the Cable Hotel literally down the hill. Local shops a bonus. Outlook great and felt very private.
Historic hotel built in 1884; some original elements remain. Great location, free parking across the street from hotel. Parking in Dunedin CBD can be difficult, so convenient parking was much appreciated! Our room had a view of the central courtyard, where the original stables were built.
The food is amazing!! The hotel itself is conveniently located in downtown Dunedin, walking distance to most attractions. However the chef here is fabulous. The onsite restaurant the Press Club is terrific. Serving staff were great and provided most pleasant customer service.
Great location - very central and convenient. Secure parking. Very comfortable stay. Not too noise even though on main road. Good black out curtains. Best water pressure in shower of any hotel/motel I've stayed at. Good kitchen facilities. Good sized apartment.
Hotel is on the beach with incredible views from the room. Windows open for listening & smelling the sea. Beautiful room& parking in the building. Welcoming & helpful staff. Great neighborhood with some shops & eateries. Beautiful beach for long walks.
It's so luxurious for a motel category. So well maintained and the owner Nev is just amazing. What a beautiful property and so close to everything in Dunedin. Right in the heart of the city. I'll come back for sure.
Well situated Motel right in heart of Dunedin. Hotel Manager very cheerful and helpful. Good parking right outside units. Units very well equipped especially kitchen. Very clean. Laundry facilities available.
Great CBC location & central to everything.
A basic somewhat old fashion Hotel from Art Deco - Edwardian era, very comfortable but not posh.
WE highly recommend the Law Courts Hotel.
Years ago we stayed at the Hotel del Coranado, where "Some Like It Hot" was filmed...Majestic Mansions is smaller, but has the same graceful Victorian charm...simple elegance
We got an upgrade which was awesome and we were in the new section of hotel so nice new modern rooms etc. Also in walking distance to most things in Central dunedin
The location of this hotel was perfect for the purpose of our stay, the parking was ok although very tight but it was first come first served which was fair enough
