Charming waterfront and very child friendly.
Charming waterfront and very child friendly. The pirate boat play area and splash pad is so nice for the little ones. We only walked around the centre up to the walkway bridge which present a marvelous view. As we are not trekkers, we only passed by Picton to proceed to Nelson from Wellington, and as overnight stop for the Interisland ferry back. There were many road closures when we visited. Perhaps next time, we will explore the surrounds.

A lovely little town with some fabulous walks.
A lovely little town with some fabulous walks. Stay a couple of days after getting off the ferry instead of just driving through. ( Although a little busy when a cruise ship arrived in port, but they are not there every day!)

Great place.
Great place. We stayed at Picton Campervan Park and it was a great walking distance to pubs and town. They have cabins that are absolutely spotless and so comfortable. The beach and foreshore are just alive with people, watching all the flash boats coming and going. Sitting on the veranda of the Waitoi Tavern, sheltered from the sun and enjoying conversation with friendly people travelling was just tops. And the meals at the Waitoi Tavern were value for money in comparison to the other pubs. Fish was so fresh! and plenty of it on the plate! We only stayed two nights, just wasn't long enough, already planning another trip!
The greeting with wine and a personalised cheese platter was a lovely touch to the luxurious room. We were also upgraded due to us being on our honeymoon which was a lovely surprise and we thoroughly enjoyed the room. This is a unique spot with a different vibe only having three rooms in the hotel, making it more personable and special. The breakfast room service was well worth it as well.
Absolutely Brilliant property in a great location.
Barry did an excellent job of explaining the facilities on arrival.
We were not expecting to have the use of a pool and spa pool.
Everything was immaculate and nothing required was lacking.
It is only a relatively short walk to the restaurants and facilities in town so it is an ideal spot for a stay in Picton.
The apartment was so spacious and had everything we wanted. There were two bedrooms. The view from the front patio to the bay was lovely and serene. There were some ducks in the lawn and a nice lemon tree. The hostess was warm and friendly. We could park in front of the room. Hotel is in a residential neighborhood, rather than the downtown. This makes it quieter.
Very happy with the stay.
I did arrive late on the first night and left early hours of the morning, as I only needed a pit stop to sleep before catching the ferry to Wellington - so didn’t really get to see too much during.
Great location as it’s right next door to Picton.
Had everything you needed and was good value for the money. Very clean and tidy.
Owners are very friendly and helpful
The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable
Area right in town and pretty quiet considering being right in the middle.
Restaurants either side of us as well as Hotels
Food awesome in the two hotels three shops either side of motel
Thank you we will be back
PS The trike was bloody awesome 👍👍

This property is not the plaza hotel in New York City. It’s a fantastic property in small town New Zealand with a great kid friendly pool, clean economically priced rooms, a nice breakfast and the best location. I don’t get the low rating in booking. The staff is also very friendly. Stay here. A great spot and great value. Thanks
Easily one of the best stays in our month long trip to New Zealand. Huge rooms, facilities better than any hotel we stayed in and hosts were so friendly. We wish we could have stayed longer as everything from comfort, facilities, location and amenities were top class. Barry really undersells himself and how great this stay is.
It was centrally located, easy to walk anywhere in town, clean and tidy, with a pleasant feel about it. Parking is pretty tight with bigger cars, but the host helped organise everyone in and out, working together so we could get to our ferry without stress. Would return to stay in Picton longer!
View from our room and terrace was of Queen Charlotte Sound and the marina, absolutely beautiful! The hotel manager (assumed owner) was super friendly. Room was huge and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Location was a couple minute walk to restaurants, bars, and harbour.
Very nice room with everything we required for our overnight stay. This hotel style room included a mini kitchen, which was great. Safe parking is included.
Big plus is a great onsite restaurant. (Recommend you prebook as it's popular with the locals)
The location is spot on, virtually waterfront and a room with a view. I love Picton and think its underrated. This motel is fine and reasonably priced for its facilities and convenience. Well functioning bathroom, extra pillows etc and comfortable.
Location is reasonably close to the Picton township, and the facilities are fantastic. Nice warm welcome from the staff. Stayed in one of the motels, reasonably priced, great parking for my Ute, I would love to stay here again.
Pure luxury, the most beautiful apartment we had so far. Stunning views onto Picton and Queen Charlotte Sound. Lots of space, fully equipped kitchen. We especially enjoyed the evenings in front of the fireplace. Just like home.
The hotel was an unexpected gem. We didn't expect the staff to be so welcoming. They were wonderful, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely be back when next in Picton.
The view from our room/balcony was superb, fantastic atmosphere. If we ever come back to Picton we will definitely want to return to Harbour View Hotel.
