Very good staff, like Deepak and Justin at the Front desk . Other staff ( like house keeping )were also very polite and said hello when you walked by them. The rooms and bathroom were very neat and clean. A spacious enough bedroom with two double beds, a little meals table, fridge with a little milk carton in addition to coffee/ tea sachets for your quick morning beverage.
The property is right by the lake, which is absolutely breathtaking. And it's a very short 2 minute drive to the centre of town, or even a short 10-15 minute walk.

I refused to stay. Hold on the stair rugs. At best, this is like a hostel. I refused to stay and booked a b and b through booking.com.

The location is great, right at the lake and walking distance to anywhere. It is a big hotel and offers family rooms which for us was great - 2 bedroom villa for a family. The villa was spacious and very clean, it had everything we needed. The beds were very comfy.
They have an outdoor pool which is heated to 25 degrees I believe and a sauna inside which needs booking.
There is a nice restaurant inside the hotel which looks out to the lake and serves very nice food.

A great, clean and well-equipped unit for four of us. We liked the separate spaces – lounge, kitchen, two bedrooms – and the TVs in the lounge and bedrooms. The owners were very friendly.

I just love the relaxed surroundings of Te Anau, it's one of my favorites destinations for a few'nights-getaway..there is lots to do and if you're adventurous you can do even more! Amazing nature, the lake is just stunning, township is not too big but has all you could want/need. Brilliant food places...love The Ranche and the Moose. Redcliff restaurant and bar is a unexpected find, quaint and quirky but great food and staff. Overall, Te Anau is a beautiful destination if you're looking for somewhere not too touristy (at least, it doesn't feel that way)

This is a nice location which has everything.
This is a nice location which has everything. The town centre has everything that you would need. Friendly people in shops and businesses. Great range of different restaurants. Excellent tourist attractions. Very convenient to Milford Sound - 2 hours through stunning countryside. A lot better to travel from Te Anau to Milford Sound or Doubtful Sound than to come from Queenstown - 4 hours travel
The best place we found to eat and just chill at was Red Cliff Bar and Restaurant - friendly staff, exceptional food and first rate service.
A couple of must do's are: Wings and Water (float plane) with Ivan and Cruise Te Anau with Peter. Both locals, highly entertaining and knowledgeable.

This is a great, very small town that makes a great stay to see the Fiordlands. Stay at a location with a view of the lake. Activities from here are a great choice. The lake and mountains are beautiful and eat at the Ranch, best place we ate on both islands.

We stayed a bit longer in Te Anau to do a bit of hiking.
We stayed a bit longer in Te Anau to do a bit of hiking. It's a small town, so easy to get to know quickly. The nicer restaurants need a reservation, and it seemed when we went that quite a few restaurants were short-staffed. If dining is important to you, check out where you want to eat a few days beforehand.
My family and I really loved the hotel and the Family Suite. They did not wish to leave as we feeling so much at home. The location of your hotel is also one of your greatest assets as it is so picturesque and set in a breathtaking location. Te Anau being the gateaway for Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, and Otago is also the icing on the cake. We have a tremendous and fun filled time. Thank you so much. We are looking to return in 2 years time.
checked in after a long drive down to Te Anau, the man in charge was so kind and welcoming, we felt very relaxed immediately. upon entering the cottage, it felt like a home away from home, with plenty of space and comforts to make our stay even nicer. perfect for a weekend getaway, very civilized and well maintained. absolutely recommend staying here.
The hosts were very nice and they gave us all the instructions about the town and where to find everything we wanted, such as the restaurants and the bike rental. They served a very good breakfast, with options we could choose from. The view from the lodge and from the room was spectacular with Lake Te Anau and the mountains. Beautiful scenery!
I highly recommend this place. Room was bright and cozy with comfortable bed. Room has shared bathroom but you will only share it with one more room. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Hotel has amazing view on Te Anau Lake located across the street. All restaurants and shops are just couple steps from this place.
The room was very clean and the bathrooms were modern! Rooms, bathroom and kitchen come equipped with everything you need.
The staff were very lovely and let you know all the information you need to know on the town Te Anau. They turned the heater on for us before our check in which I thought was very sweet!
The rooms were small but comfortable, entire hostel was very quiet and the other guests all seemed to be on the same page about noise. The kitchen was large and well stocked. The staff was also very kind.
This is a hostel with more of a hotel/motel feel which was a nice change from other properties!
Perfect motel got everything one expects of a motel, even basic in-room breakfast if so desired. 350 meter walk through the park to the (parallel) main drag of Te Anau, or if you prefer to stay in there's streaming services on the TV.
Super clean and comfortable apartment with everything we needed, great location close to the shopping town and there is an awesome small cafe just cross the street. I would recommend this property to anyone stays in Te Anau.
Its nice location - just across the road from lake. It was exactly the same how it is advertised on booking.com. Te Anau is a small town and the property is very near to shops and restaurants. Overall value for money.
The room was really nice, very clean and comfortable. Reception lady was very pleasant. The Anchorage Motel was one street back from Lake Te Anau and a short walk to The Te Anau Club where we had a lovely tea.
Awesome breakfast and manager was very helpful and kind as he allowed us to pack food for our daughter.
Room was clean and spacious.definitely we will choose this hotel again if we visit Te Anau
Te Anau lodge is well worth a visit even if it wouldn't have been a place to sleep. A very original touch of Tim Burton is in the air in this gem that must be preserved.
Very well-managed motel in Te Anau. Meticulous attention to detail. Good location, walkable along lake to restaurant district. Room was large and comfortable.
The unit we stayed in was nice, but very small. The facilities were nice and clean. The property was located right in front of Lake Te Anau which was amazing.
Perfect location in Te Anau. Across the street from a lovely park and a few blocks from the main area of town. Great hosts and comfortable living!! Thanks!!!
