One of the best hotels of our Peru trip. The staff are so friendly and super helpful. The rooms are very lovely. Such a good value! As a family we got a little suite. Most importantly they have functioning AC! They also accommodated an early breakfast for us since our flight was leaving early in the morning.

The staff is by far the greatest asset of Gree Diamond Lodge. They are exceptional. The beds could be improved. In my opinion the single best improvement they could make is finding a way to provide fans in the rooms, possibly powered by solar. The heat and humidity are quite overwhelming.

Puerto Maldonado is a little off the beaten path as far as tourist destinations go, so therefore it doesn’t have the modern comfort amenities that most tourists are accustomed to. However, if you are a nature enthusiast and want a real and authentic Amazon experience and friendly people, Puerto Maldonado is a great place to see the Amazon in the raw.

Pretty small town, and only visited the area around centro (Plaza de Armas), but it was well-kept and had plenty of restaurants and a bank. Ate at two nearby restaurants (Burgos's and Carrion32), both of which were quite good and reasonably priced. It's also only 15-20 soles to ride a tuktuk-like taxi to or from the airport, and each fits up to 3x passengers if you are not carrying a ton of luggage. The taxis are fun too!

The town itself is basic but it's a great base for many nearby places to see wildlife. There are a lot of great day tours in the area, so you can stay in Puerto two or three days and do day tours while you organize an overnight trip.
Many tour agencies charge more for online reservations because platforms charge them up to 25% commission. If you go to Puerto Maldonado you can book all your tours in person. There is a small street just off the Plaza de Armas with a dozen agencies. Walk around, compare service and prices before choosing day tours. Do a few day tours and then go to an eco-lodge for a 3 or 4 day trip into Tambopata National Park.

There is not much to do in the city itself.
There is not much to do in the city itself. No reason to visit the city except as a starting point for visits to the Tambopata reserve near by. That is certainly worth a visit of several days, Lago Sandoval, Collpa de Chuncho, adventure day with canopy walks, ziplines, kayaks, etc. The three different guides we experienced during our stay were excellent, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Lots of nature to see in this luscious jungle area.

The amount of unique life in the Amazon, right outside Puerto Maldonado was stunning and our tour guides’ knowledge of everything was so impressive. Did not get to spend much time in town but the beauty and wonder just up the river where we stayed was astounding.

I loved the eco-friendly nature of the hotel. The staff always went far to please the guest. The facilities are definitely comfortable considering you are staying in the middle of the jungle. The food is fresh and delicious. Rooms are great and integrate really well with the environment. You will see and hear wildlife from your cabin! I definitely recommend this experience and all the excursions included in the price of the room. The Canopy experience was my favorite and the Tarantula trail at night was a close second.
Our stay was one of the highlights of our trip to Peru. Amazon Lodge is in a beautiful and peaceful location overlooking the river. Very friendly and helpful staff, simple but well prepared and filling food, very clean, spacious and comfortable sleeping lodges, and excellent tours with a wonderful tour guide (Jose). If you are looking to disconnect from the world and explore and enjoy nature then I highly recommend.
Stayed here twice once before going to the rainforest.and once afterwards. Lovely spacious hotel which is very clean. Nice new bar area. Breakfast on the top floor and there's fresh juice tea or coffee lovely soft rolls with jam and eggs. Staff were very helpful getting taxis and helping me with my trips. Hot water when you come out of the rainforest was much appreciated.
The Anaconda Lodge is a great place for a short stay in Puerto Maldonado. It’s conveniently located close to the airport but feels completely tucked away in the forest. The lodges are basic but have everything you need for a comfortable stay. We also loved breakfast – the pancakes and eggs were delicious!
Very beautiful, very peaceful, staff spoke perfect English and were super helpful with arranging taxis and restaurant recommendations. We loved our individual, private bungalow. The breakfast and coffee were the best we had in all of Peru. Bathroom big, shower great! Bed super comfortable!
Super nice breakfast! The woman at the front was super nice, all the time. After checkout she offered us to stay in the common area (incl pool) to wait until our flight. Very lovely, if we’re in Puerto Maldonado again, we’ll definitely stay there again!
The staff was friendly and always helpful. The food at breakfast is good and there is some variety day to day. The room was as described and had a good fan but for the same price there were other nearby hotels with air conditioning.
Had a lovely time at the inkaterra. Our guide Nixon was amazing and very knowledgeable he had a story for everything. Thank you so much for looking after us and showing us the Peruvian Amazon which was a dream come true.
Spacious and comfortable room. Nice and friendly atmosphere. Very helpful staff. Decent breakfast. Good location. Nice pool to chill. The hotel offers great day tours and the possibility to stay in a lodge.
Nice hotel with comfy and spacious rooms. Daily included breakfast was a great bonus. Great location, within walking distance to the city centre. A few supermarkets are within a 2 min walk from the hotel.
The resort was only 30 minutes from the airport. You could access many trips in the Amazon from the hotel. Staff we so friendly. The food was good and the pool was nice and cold for the really hot days.
It was just as expected but even better. The food and trip down the river was amazing. The host was very accommodating and his knowledge of things was exceptional. Would stay again if ever in Peru again
What I liked was that the hotel wasnt very close to the city so you could really experience being in the jungle. I also liked that each guest has their own cabin.
Breakfast was delicious.
Everything was perfect! The daily tours were arranged by our amazing tour guide, Rico. Rico was incredibly knowledgeable about the plants and animals and taught us so much.
