After staying one night in the city center at a less than desirable hotel, we moved on to this place to retrieve our sanity… and it worked. A pleasant stay at this resort with plenty of amenities… nice restaurant and bar.

The staff were friendly and so accommodating. They let me use the pool and facilities after check out as my bus didn’t leave until 7 pm. I don’t know how I could have managed all day in the heat otherwise.

Great place for a little roadtrip!
Great place for a little roadtrip! The Huacachina Oasis is just one of the best places I have ever visited. It is a very small place to relax, do a dune buggy tour with sandboarding and then going to the Islas Ballestas to take a boat tour. It was great!

Huacachina is a beautiful place (especially looking over the desert), we stayed 2 nights and managed to book several excursions in the 3 days we spent there. We also managed to visit Paracas with an excursion booked from the hotel.

Ica is lovely!
Ica is lovely! A small oasis in the middle of a sandy desert. Very peaceful.A ton of restaurants and bars. Must go on the sand buggy ride which I would highly recommend, the drivers are nuts! The more we laughed, the more the driver would drive off on to yet another challenging sand dune. Fun! Definitely try out Sand boarding. It does seem scary but is easy to get hooked on.

I like this little city, or large pueblo, however you want to look at it. Compared to all the other towns along the coast this is probably the cleanest and nicest to visit (not counting Lima because it's sooooo much bigger). And I've visited more than 20 towns in Peru.

Ica or better Huacachina is a great place to be!
Ica or better Huacachina is a great place to be! It was awesome to see the town in the middle of the sand dunes. I also did the sandboarding trip which I liked a lot. However, I was not interested in the other possible trips (trip to the Islands, Pisco Sour and Wine tasting tour, or Canyon tour), so that one day would have been perfectly enough for me. However, I don't know how to better plan it with the buses, so I think 1 night stay is a must and you can only take the next bus in the next evening.
if you plan on relaxing this is the place to be! many pools and activities to keep the kids busy (this place is very family oriented!!), they try to keep a divide between adults and kids. hotel is very clean. ac and heating is great! a lot of staff on the site which means you never have to look too hard to get some help! overall if you’re looking for a good time I would 100% recommend Las Dunas. if you want this as your base to visit Ica and surroundings: it’s a bit out of the way but the safe neighborhood really is an added bonus!
the restaurant had excellent options with vegetarian options. delicious veggie curry.
the hours are great. the room is roomy and has a ceiling fan which made it bearable to sleep in the heat of desert. shower stall is huge.
staff is friendly and accommodating. when asked, they prepared the snack bag instead of buffet breakfast.
location is quite perfect, close to dune access and close to the lagoon however it is quite farther away from the parties which makes this hotel perfect for travellers preferring quiet area.
We stayed two nights in the Banana. The room was lovely and very clean. The breakfast was exceptional with a lot of choice and plenty to eat. The food was also excellent, we ate both nights in the hotel as we had such good food.
The swimming pool is small but not many people are they as they go out to the dunes.
Also our dune trip with the hotel was amazing, we went down some crazy steep dunes.
It’s also perfectly located with a view to the dunes and by the oasis lake.
-Breakfast and coffees were good.
-Clean and plenty of (shared, outside) bathrooms. I never had to wait.
-Like most places in Peru, the staff was friendly.
-If you have a big camper, they have enough parking space for you. The pool is good for the kids and on idle days.
-The alluring look of being in the 'tent' by the desert fools everyone every time. (Read: stay here once and go elsewhere, if you find yourself returning.)
One of the best hotels we’ve been to! The outdoor area is super nice and unique, sad that our days went by so quickly. The private double room with shared bathroom was comfy and we only shared the bathroom with another room. Shower was lukewarm though. The food is delicious, we only ate there during our 2 days in Ica. And they made their own bread for breakfast!! 5 minutes to Huacachina by tuk tuk.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and Huacachina was rammed. However, the hotel was a little oasis of its own and we enjoyed a quiet swim in the pool, then a gentle walk around Huacachina once the day trippers had gone and things had quietened down. The following morning we walked up into the dunes and enjoyed a lovely breakfast on the roof = a great stay overall.
Fast check-in
Clean Room
Late check-out (compared to other hostels/hotel) I was also able to check-in a bit earlier.
Quiet! (Ica center is very noisy , too many tuk-tuks , taxis, minibuses, etc a bit chaotic to be honest) but at this hostel I managed to sleep very well since it was quite, much appreciated!!
Friendly staff
Very big and comfortable room an a balcony with a vineyard view. Wine and tasting tour included. The Intilpalka restaurant was awesome the food, the local wines and all that we taste was very delicious. The staff was very kind, helpful and in case you needed the hotel has a nurse that was so convenient to us in this trip.
This was the best hostel we stayed at within 6 weeks in Peru. The pool was clean, the breakfast was good, the room was spacious and clean, and the overall design of the hostel is super nice. We were welcomed warmly by the staff, and they actually remembered our names even though we only stayed one night.
Very good overall experience. The breakfast in particular is well worth the cost, which is slightly higher than the typical cost for a breakfast. The location is quiet, The receptionist is always at the front desk and paying attention to the guests (unlike many hotels/hostels I've stayed at).
Location was great, right across from a restaurant but close to oasis also. Pool was beautiful! We came on a great day and had the hotel practically to ourselves. Room was nice size but our shower door was missing. Water was hot and breakfast was good for the price. We would star again.
Amazing place to stay with nice facilities and friendly staff. It included the distillery tour, a workshop to prepare chilcanos, daily shows with caballos de paso and delicious food. I highly recommend this stay for a relaxing getaway and to get to know more about the Peruvian culture.
Super friendly staff, great swimming pool open until ~10pm, great location: worth spending a night or two in Huacachina (vs. Ica). Comfortable place, I would come back.
Restaurant has tasty food. And really nice vibe of the place overall. I had a single room with private bathroom and it was best Peru accommodation so far.
Great location, very friendly personnel, nice swimming pool and very well arranged sandboarding (Peruvian Sand Adventures) as well as a trip to Paracas.
