Make sure you get the sandboard tours. The restaurant right on the left side of the hotel Curasi has great drinks and food. the price is very fair, and the portion extremely generous.
It is a very calm town almost everything will close around 11 pm on weekdays.. heard it gets crazy on the weekends. Enjoyed so much our time there.

Great place for a little roadtrip!
Great place for a little roadtrip! The Huacachina Oasis is just one of the best places I have ever visited. It is a very small place to relax, do a dune buggy tour with sandboarding and then going to the Islas Ballestas to take a boat tour. It was great!

Huacachina is a beautiful place (especially looking over the desert), we stayed 2 nights and managed to book several excursions in the 3 days we spent there. We also managed to visit Paracas with an excursion booked from the hotel.

Ica is lovely!
Ica is lovely! A small oasis in the middle of a sandy desert. Very peaceful.A ton of restaurants and bars. Must go on the sand buggy ride which I would highly recommend, the drivers are nuts! The more we laughed, the more the driver would drive off on to yet another challenging sand dune. Fun! Definitely try out Sand boarding. It does seem scary but is easy to get hooked on.

I like this little city, or large pueblo, however you want to look at it. Compared to all the other towns along the coast this is probably the cleanest and nicest to visit (not counting Lima because it's sooooo much bigger). And I've visited more than 20 towns in Peru.

Ica or better Huacachina is a great place to be!
Ica or better Huacachina is a great place to be! It was awesome to see the town in the middle of the sand dunes. I also did the sandboarding trip which I liked a lot. However, I was not interested in the other possible trips (trip to the Islands, Pisco Sour and Wine tasting tour, or Canyon tour), so that one day would have been perfectly enough for me. However, I don't know how to better plan it with the buses, so I think 1 night stay is a must and you can only take the next bus in the next evening.
if you plan on relaxing this is the place to be! many pools and activities to keep the kids busy (this place is very family oriented!!), they try to keep a divide between adults and kids. hotel is very clean. ac and heating is great! a lot of staff on the site which means you never have to look too hard to get some help! overall if you’re looking for a good time I would 100% recommend Las Dunas. if you want this as your base to visit Ica and surroundings: it’s a bit out of the way but the safe neighborhood really is an added bonus!
The hotel was very beautiful, nice decoration and good rooms, big enough and good things like fridge and fan. The host is a very nice person, you can ask him anything and he will help you of course. The location is so good, there is a Plaza Vea, Falabella, Ripley, etc, at just 2 minutes of walking in front and next to the street. Is so quiet at the time to sleep even when there's a road so close, so you don't have to worry about it. I'll definitely go to that Hotel if I go to Ica again.
Huacachina was a good surprise. When planning our holidays in Peru, this seemed like a "passable" place, mainly because we had already visited other oasis towns. Nevertheless, spending a night here was great. It allowed us time to go on a buggy ride through the desert and sandboarding down the dunes! Walking around the oasis during the early morning was also quite different and refreshing. The breakfast was not bad, but also nothing special.
-Breakfast and coffees were good.
-Clean and plenty of (shared, outside) bathrooms. I never had to wait.
-Like most places in Peru, the staff was friendly.
-If you have a big camper, they have enough parking space for you. The pool is good for the kids and on idle days.
-The alluring look of being in the 'tent' by the desert fools everyone every time. (Read: stay here once and go elsewhere, if you find yourself returning.)
Beautiful Hotel surrounded by wine yard, the food was spectacular and of course the wine as well! We didnt find the menu prices expensive at all, since the quality was so good. Great attention from the staff, special thanks to Mr Julio, who attended us most of the time of our stay. We got a taxi recommended by the hotel, Mr Luis Vela, who did a great job and gave us a very fair price.
Very big and comfortable room an a balcony with a vineyard view. Wine and tasting tour included. The Intilpalka restaurant was awesome the food, the local wines and all that we taste was very delicious. The staff was very kind, helpful and in case you needed the hotel has a nurse that was so convenient to us in this trip.
This was the best hostel we stayed at within 6 weeks in Peru. The pool was clean, the breakfast was good, the room was spacious and clean, and the overall design of the hostel is super nice. We were welcomed warmly by the staff, and they actually remembered our names even though we only stayed one night.
Location was great, right across from a restaurant but close to oasis also. Pool was beautiful! We came on a great day and had the hotel practically to ourselves. Room was nice size but our shower door was missing. Water was hot and breakfast was good for the price. We would star again.
We had an amazing stay and it was one of our favorite accommodation we had in Peru (traveled there for 7 weeks!). It's a very new accommodation and very comfortabel. Amazing room, bed and bathroom. Amazing pool en we enjoyed the breakfast. Although the breakfast was really basic;
I don’t know why so many bad comments, but it was a grate hotel in good location. Nice swimming pool area, rooms clean and comfy. Good Wi-Fi. Yes there was mosquitoes by the pool, but they provide a spray from them.
Good parking inside hotel as well
Restaurant has tasty food. And really nice vibe of the place overall. I had a single room with private bathroom and it was best Peru accommodation so far.
