The best way for not getting soroche or altitude sickness is to drive straight from the airport to the Sacred Valley and stay there at least the first 3 days of your stay in Cusco. This is the best way to get your body used to such a high altitude and avoid getting sick. Urubamba has great restaurants and hotels all around, so there’s plenty of choices for lunch and dinner. The weather is much warmer and nicer than Cusco and it’s a great hub for visiting the ruins around the place.

Urubamba is the perfect base from which to explore the Sacred Valley. It's also a quieter, less overtouristed alternative to Cuzco. Visitors can walk clear across town without being stopped by touts every few steps, but getting to Ollantaytambo, Moray and Maras is a breeze (and cheap). The town also has plenty of great dining options, all for much less than you'd pay in Cuzco, and it's perfect for people watching. It may seem a bit rough around the edges at first but within a day you'll find it comfortable and even homey.

We had been there for work and looked for a peaceful place to spend the night, which we found. I know Urubamba, since I live in the Sacred Valley. Nice little town, where you find everything, you need for a short or long stay.

I liked staying here. Great food. Some good local sights.
I liked staying here. Great food. Some good local sights. Easy access to both Pisac and Ollantaytambo. It's a little less quaint than those other two tourist hot spots, but I preferred that Urubamba was a real city, with less domination from tourists. It is more centrally located than the other two, making it easier to get to them both. Really enjoyed my stay.

Urubamba is a good place to stay to see the sights in the sacred valley. There are a lot of restaurants and our hotel into nan was outstanding. Our hosts arranged taxis to show us the sights, and once the owner even drove us to a shop!
Great location, easy to find as I was walking through town. The staff were amazing. I ate something bad and was suffering, and they checked up on me, extended my checkout so I could rest longer, and booked me a really comfortable taxi for when it was time to leave. There were free herbal teas in the lobby which helped to ease my stomach. Probably the best internet of any place I've stayed at in Peru! Which makes sense, as the ground floor has a coworking space!
Very unique and exciting experience views are spectacular. Climbing up is fun and zip lining down is super fun. Bathroom is ingenious. The food and guides are terrific information, kind, fun to talk to.it was a little loud from the strickers blasting horns early but that’s not the hotels fault. The beds are very comfortable and warm covers. Slept great
Nice staff, really tried to communicate in spanglish with us! :)
Breakfast at the Rooftop: Delicious Juice, Coffee & Eggs with Sausages. Very clean. Cool Vibe in the Garden-Area, good WIFI!!
Good kitchen to Cook for ourself, the best equiped one in Peru for us so far.
Overall: We would stay again!
Location was good, the hotel was very nice for a cheap hotel, the bedroom was a decent size, shower was a little slow to warm up, so turn it on when you first get in the bathroom to wash up and stuff, staff were helpful and always pleasant. Bed was very comfortable.
My review is a bit late but a few months ago I stayed here and it was my dream time in Peru. I had been all over the Sacred valley and this place was definitely number one! everything was awesome from the food to the view to the staff, highly recommend!
The hotel offers many amenities and activities for you to try so you don't have to leave the property to have a fun filled day. They have alpacas onsite and you can feed them, and they have massages and other cool activities to choose from.
Our host was so accommodating and really friendly. A lovely hot shower with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast is lovely and staying in the scared valley is a must if you are traveling around Peru. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Beautiful hotel, right near the cemetery and the base of the mountain for hikes (we did the Tantanmarka hike). Breakfast was good, we used their rec room to play pool. Walking distance to pretty much everything you need to get to.
The place is beautiful and surrounded by nature. The room is very spacious and the hotel has a very nice mission. However, I think it would be good to highlight some points so that they can improve.
Very helpful and friendly service from the staff. Beautifully designed hotel with many different amenities for my children to enjoy. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to stay there. Excellent.
Stayed in a three bedroom lodge. Two rooms with queen beds and a loft with two twins. Very comfortable and much different than staying in a hotel. The host brought delicious breakfast to our lodge.
Andenia hotel is an amazing spot in the heart of the sacred Valley. The gardens are amazing and the dinner and breakfast were EXCEPTIONAL, a must try for sure. The rooms are spacious and
I loved the location of the hotel, far from the noise of the city and perfect to enjoy nature. Breakfast was amazing and staff was helpful and friendly.
