Faaa itself is OK.
Faaa itself is OK. It's the Royal room in the hills tgat was problematic. The room is not really as described. Seems it's run by someone else than the owner, possibly absentee house owner. Many people come and go from the Royal. One group came for a visit and occupied the terrace. They were polite and quiet but smoked, so no joining for us. The house cleaness is questionable and it appears there is more lodgers than the one the who sleep in the loft. Living room dingy with curtains closed and sofa. Underfurnished. The bedding feels cheap and polyester-like. Parking is a total headache on a narrow ledge. Finally someone came to move own car but with another motorcycle in the small place that was hardly useful. Dog poo was there, easy to step in. It's close to airport but there are nicer places to stay than here. Valley location was nice. Otherwise do not recommend this place. As to airport facility, it was easy to park a car at longterm to jump to another island for 2 days.

Faaa is the gateway to French Polynesia.
Faaa is the gateway to French Polynesia. It is a beautiful city capturing the culture of Tahiti. I visited several markets while there and was impressed by the local pearl, oils for the skin and fruit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in beautiful Tahiti! Thank you from Canada!

Many mosquitoes in Tahiti…bring repellent! The hosts have mosquito repellent coils lit in the open common area and it helps. A small main gathering area for breakfast, share use of regular size fridge for leftovers, grocery store food, etc. A water machine to refill your own water bottle, coffee maker, hot tea pitcher, microwave, stove, etc all in common area & shared if you’d like to cook own meals. It’s very clean in the area. Also, a washer is available for use for your clothes & hang dry. The hosts are very kind and accommodating.

Faaa is small, but on the other hand everything in Polynesia is :) Take a rental car and explore Tahiti! After a lot of beautiful nature and small islands we were happy with our stay on vibrant Tahiti.

The hotel is beautiful, but you can walk anywhere, as the menus are very limited, you’ll get bored of it very quickly.
If you want a restaurant outside the hotel, you need to take a taxi, which can get expensive.
- Owners picked us up in the airport. Very good and short ride. To return to the airport in the next day, another ride with the owner was done.
- Lodge is in a short distance from the airport
- Very clean and new room. The place is quiet too.
- Smart tv inside the room was working perfectly. Wifi signal is strong and stable.
Basically it is the perfect place in Papeete for an overnight layover. Way better than spending a lot in a resort just to sleep or staying in a mediocre hotel of the city.
As always I choose this apartment for staying in Papeete.
Impeccably clean, about 5-7 minutes from the airport and 8-10 minutes from city center, ideally located if staying for a night or two.
Need to have a car or the owners can help you for a small fee. But it is better to have a car for getting around.
Big apartment with everything you might need, one big living room with fully equipped kitchen, and one separate bedroom. Nice terrace. Private parking space.
Will for sure come back.
The husband and wife hosts at this house are wonderful. They were incredibly kind to me when I was stranded in Tahiti due to unseasonal flooding which closed the airport in New Zealand. I was stuck in Papeete for 4 days and they could not have been more welcoming or friendly. Shout out to resident 'Thierry' also for speaking Spanish with me. I should have learned French before getting stuck here!
The lodge was a perfect place to stay while in Tahiti. It was very convenient for us that the host picked us up from the airport and dropped us off after our stay. She was welcoming and friendly. The rooms are new and well maintained. It was a quiet place and I recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay near the airport.
A comfortable bed located close to the airport (but up the hill). TV kept me company. I was trying to go to sleep with the noise of some neighbours up late. I accidentally left without paying (I thought Booking.com had already paid) and they were very patient for me to pay when I came back through Tahiti!
This was a good basic lodging for someone who is passing through Tahiti for a night or two (being walking distance to the airport was a plus) and needs a friendly home to stay with a welcoming host. The room and bed were comfortable (with a fan included), The kitchen facilities are also a plus.
I liked that our host picked us up and dropped us at the airport. Reva also was kind enough to get my iPad that I left at the main rental, before being relocated. I did like the room decor. It was modern and had a nice tv and good Wi-Fi, even though this was not the accommodation we paid for.
The area around the Tahiti airport doesn't belong to the richest ones, but the people have all they need. If you have high standards, look for another place. If you are looking for a cheap place to sleep for one night close to the airport, this is it.
Apartment had everything you need, well appointed and like having your own home. Great location near airport. Swimming pool and gym. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. Would recommend a car though for getting around.
The location, cleanliness of the rooms, Tahia herself and just helping us with everything we needed was wonderful. I've been to five star resorts that didn't do as good a job as they do. They care!
It is literally 3 minutes by car from the airport so its a good option if you have a night stopover in Tahiti. Place is nice and clean, you can also cook for yourself. Owner is very nice and helpful.
Proximity to the airport, friendly hosts who asked if I needed anything, single enclosed room, WiFi worked well, free coffee and bananas.
I would stay again on another layover.
The intercontinental is an older hotel with great outside gardens / lagoons. The bed was amazing. We would chose the stay again. Le lotus is a very good gastronomic restaurant!
Very clean & close to the airport. Reva picked us up at the airport & drove us to the lodge, complete with a Welcome lei. Super nice staff. Very pleasant stay!
