The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it.
The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it. Food is amazing, I had great meals out and the Carrefour supermarkets are better stocked than my local supermarkets here in the UK. I just liked the vibe. There are lots of places to eat and drink, decent shopping to be had and I liked the people. The port where you can catch boats to other islands is in town too!

I enjoyed the Markets the most and the street stalls.

I loved the fresh pastries - especially the bread sticks
I found finding a place in town was better for us, as the cost for taxi's was very pricey.
I would avoid staying out in the suburbs and ensure to have an offline currency converter handy as there were times i got caught off guard and ended paying double the amount I intended.

Little to do in the city aside from shopping.
Little to do in the city aside from shopping. That all stops on Sundays entirely, and largely disappears on Saturday afternoons too. Public transport is almost impossible, not helped by the website or the tourism office. There are no beaches walkable from the city centre, so you're left needing to find a tour, a public bus (not on sundays though), or renting a car/scooter.

Papeete is a good destination. Don' stay at hotes downtown. Too hard n to get around with uneven footpaths and cars parked were pedestrians should have access. Stay at a resort west of the airport

Papeete as a city is not the nicest to look at but we enjoyed our time here. The town centre is bustling, market very cool and the waterfront area is lovely. Lots of good places to eat and great to walk around.

Papetee is a lovely town with great infrastructure and facilities. There are many nice boutique shops as well as big supermarkets for groceries. There is an active and fun nightlife on Friday and Saturday nights. There are many nice restaurants and bars. It is however a very expensive place. Due to the i,portation of most produce there is a high ticket price on pretty much everything. To keep costs down I recommend a self catered accomodation type.
Spacious property on the hill just outside Papeete centre. Great for family stay with space to cook and chill as well as off street parking. 10 min drive into the the city with all the facilities you would need and only 15-20 mins to the airport. A car is recommended to make the most of your trip to Papeete.
Wendy was an amazing host very supportive and easily accessible, she went above and beyond to help us and ensure our trip was spectacular. Cannot recommend her enough.
We made our own breakfast, kitchen was so nice and clean and the owner went out of his way to make sure we had , water ,juice , coffee ,tea plus 2 cans of beer for the boys . We were very pleased with the service provided by the owner. He helped as we get into the property and picked us from airport, dropped us to town and picked us again. Can't thank him enough. Best service ever, we are giving five star 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟.
The room was very spacious; it looked like it has been renovated and had a great view of the ocean. The beach was nice as well with black sand. Nice pool area as well. I believe the hotel offered a shuttle to the city market. Otherwise, you would need a car to explore the island. It is about a 20-25 min. ride from the Airport. Since I was there for one 1 nigth, I did not have a chance to explore the island.
Carlos picked us up from the airport despite our plane getting in after 1-30am.
He delivered us to the apartments and provided a good explanation.
Also dropped us to and picked us up from our cruise ship and finally he dropped us out to the airport when we left Papeete.
There is an Ezy Market shop with a good range of packaged food and pre=prepare meals, alcohol, drinks etc within 400m.
Amazing location - you can hop on a bus at the airport and get off practically in front of the hotel, and it's right across the ferry to the other islands. It's also close to the central market and withing the walking distance form the Robert Wan pearl museum. The staff was lovely and super helpful. The hotel is new and has a beautiful lobby and amazing rooftop bar.
This is an exceptional apartment. My husband and I crashed here after an incredibly late flight into Tahiti. Great proximity to the airport, quiet, and wonderful. Newly renovated with beautiful finishings and a rain style shower. The host is very welcoming and even offered us rides to the airport at additional cost, which we appreciated!!
Clean, updated rooms. Very good restaurant with a view. Cars available to rent from the property. Free airport/ferry shuttles. Walkable to waterfront and downtown. Very nice, friendly staff. They have a shower to use after check out if you have a flight later in the day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Papeete.
Spacious and clean, well equipped modern room meeting expectations. Convenient location between airport and central Papeete, good for layovers between flights and/or ferry rides. Late checkout possible depending on availability; optional use of "departure lounge" (charge) between checkout and onward travel.
We choose this location because it's a short distance to the ferry for the other islands. Also the host did pick us up at the airport at 1am . That was very well arranged and very thankful when you arrive the first time in Tahiti. The room is nothing special and quite expensive for what it is.
Being walking distance from downtown Papeete meant we had our choice of restaurants, bars and supermarkets. It made exploring the city very easy.
The rooftop pool was a nice bonus.
Check in was autonomous and easy with all the information being emailed through well ahead of our arrival.
The property is a reasonable walk from main shopping area but doable. Supermarket very close and also a Total Service station with Bon Jour shop & coffee. Transfer from port to hotel and then hotel to airport were efficiently arranged.
The staff at the reception were amazingly helpful in helping us sort out transit to airport / taxis and other misc issues. The beach next to the property is great and the large greenery they have next to the rooms is also great.
It is very old and shabby and walls and furniture are chipped. Very dark in the room with only 3 small lamps. Pretty basic hotel, but good location for the ferry and OK value for money compared to the other rates in Papeete.
The hotel was exactly as you'd expect from a Hilton property. No real surprises or individuality. They're all similar: clean, great wifi, luxury services, etc. The best part of our stay was the concierge.
The hotel was accessible from the Ferry and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Papeete market is also within walking distance for all your souvenir needs. The staff were very nice and helpful.
Good location, easy to get to from the airport and perfect for a stop before onward travel. Rooftop bar and restaurant also really nice and walking distance from town market and food trucks
The location is close to the ferry, nightly food trucks, market, ATMs, and the tourist sights of Papeete. It's a cheap place to stay in an otherwise expensive location.
