It’s beautiful. Lush green grounds, friendly staff. Resort pool and restaurant. We had the private pool with our suite. Do it!! You will not regret it for a moment. We were in unit 307. The air conditioning worked great. Only comment is when it rained hard, there was a bit of a sulphur smell and then the mosquitoes came out a bit (bring bug spray in case). But none of that would deter me from choosing that guy simply because it was so private. No one needed to walk in front of our place. The water is purified and safe at the resort (it was at the time of my writing this) and they do give you one bottle of water at the start of your stay. The town is a 5 min walk down the beach and is worth going in. The grocery store is massive! So much stuff! And a load of bread there is cheap! The fridge is more like a cooler, so they say don’t keep food in it because it won’t be safe. We grabbed a plastic baggie and filled it with ice to keep the fridge cold enough to keep some small bits of food safe. But it is definitely not a fridge.
When you go to your room, you put your key in a slot which gets the power fired up. So when you are away (unless you get two keys), the air conditioned stops as does the fridge. Good news. The air conditioner cools the place reasonably quickly
The resort restaurant is okay. The Cajun rub chicken with fries is yummy. The beef tenderloin is good as is the veal. We did not do breakfast but our friends called it mediocre. However the chocolate croissants were delicious!
Be aware that there are specific meal times. Can’t remember specifically but it goes something like breakfast from 6:30-9:30. Lunch from 11:45-2 and dinner from 6:45-9:30. Outside of that. No food.
The beach out front of the restaurant is lovely with some decent snorkelling.
The staff were very friendly and always smiling. Make sure you greet them with a “yor-Anna” (not how it’s spelled! Lol).
And always say thank you “ma-roo-roo” (again… not how it’s spelled. )
A great spot.

Very cozy spot in Huahine; quick access to the ocean (though not necessarily a "beach" - it certainly is a perk to have the ocean so close); accommodation is simple with open layout; it has all the basics. No frills, but this is one of its positive qualities. Bicycles available to use (which was awesome/extremely helpful).
Located on the beachfront in Haapu and featuring a shared lounge, ALAROOTS HUAHINE has free WiFi. There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service.

What a lovely little hostel! Natalie and her son were so welcoming and shared much of their local traditions. Such a special stay.

The location was absolutely superb, one of the most beautiful beaches with a lot of fish and corals to see. The breakfast was good, the bungalow was clean and comfortable and the food in the restaurant was good, too.

This is perfect for me. Very quite, sound of the waves, proximity to beaches and food. A million times better to me than a 5* palace. One of a kind.

The location was perfect, close to the Airport but no means of transport except for taxis at a high price.NB It was a big problem in locating the property. It took myself and two locals ,a husband and wife in their land rover truck to find the property after an hour, just driving around looking for the house and asking people .I spoke to the owner Mr Gwendelyn about NO SIGNAGE to his property and the roadway

Fare is a lovely spot and is conveniently located to access all spots on the island. We would have loved to have stayed longer in Huahine. We rented a car for one day and we rented bikes for one day. We explored so much and enjoyed just stopping in to spots that we spied along the way. It was great to be able to walk into town also. The people are very friendly here. We loved going to the Hotel Mahana for lunch. If you have lunch there, you can use their beach and facilities. I would have gone back a second time and spent more time there if we had had the time!
We also saw the sacred eels, fed them and pet them!
Talk to the people. They are very proud of their island!

the super grocery store was super!
the super grocery store was super! They had everything you might need. The shops were cute, of course selling touristy stuff. We went by boat several times from Royal Hotel Huahine for a few meals. We ate at the yacht club dont' remember the name exactly.

Quiet town off the beaten Polynesian path.
Quiet town off the beaten Polynesian path.
The Super U grocery store has most of what you'll need.
Huahine Yacht Club is really the only restaurant for dinner, which was fine for us as it's affordable with a great happy hour. The sun sets to the west over Raiatea, Tahaa and Bora Bora from the water front seats at the Yacht Club.
Most rental transport facilities are in Fare and there are multiple ATMs.
Highly recommend seeing the island by E-bike. Both islands can be toured in a single day with the E-bike.
Also recommend the Motu Picnic, an affordable all day snorkeling adventure with traditional shore lunch on an east-side motu. Stop by the Yacht Club to register.
We.loved the top floor of this beautiful home..It has a really big breezy balcony overlooking amazing mountains, the village and the bay of Maro'e. Beautiful pool. Well appointed.
2 big bedrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 large bathroom and large balcony.
. We hired their car for 3 days as the capital,Fare, is a good 20 min drive. We used their 2 single kayaks in the bay in front.
The French owners are super friendly and keen to help..
Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit the slower pace of Huahine.
Our host Tinau was extremely kind and helpful. He was available all the time and gave us good advice. He picked us up at the airport, gave us bread daily, fruit....The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a little patio in front of it. There is a beach close to the property and town is only 1 km away, so easy to walk to. We rented bicycles and a scooter directly from Tinau which was convenient. Overall we had an excellent stay at Pension Fare Ara Huahine.
Smitty and Linda picked us up at the ferry and drove us to get our rental car- very convenient. They provided lots of information on things to do around the island. Frank’s is a short walk, bike or drive from everything in Fare- restaurants, beach, groceries. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, outside covered dining area, a relaxing yard and friendly dog and cat. The neighborhood is real Huahine, not a Disneyfied over-water dream. We loved it!
Nice location near the "city" with food options within biking distance. The cabin was beautiful and well-kept and we had a wonderful time exploring Huahine using Franky's Fare as our starting off point. Smith was super helpful, providing transport to and from the airport, and even helped us schedule and book some of our excursions. Highly recommended to anyone coming to Huahine.
Wonderful, comfortable, clean house with delightful hosts who were always available for anything we needed but at the same time gave us our privacy. The location is excellent, the beach just a few minutes walk and the town of Fare also a short walk away. It was also nice to have Netflix so we could watch the occasional movie. Highly recommend.
10 steps off the property - you’re in the water. The most peaceful relaxing 7 days we can remember! The entire staff is so nice & accommodating. This is the best location in Fare! Don’t hesitate, they’re booked up most days. We’re in Papeete waiting on our flight back home, running logistics to return in ‘24 🤙🏽
We loved Fare Ihilei. Modern apartment with stylish wash and shower area. Bernard and Linda proved excellent hosts with excellent communication. Location was close to the beach, vehicle hire, and happy hour at the yacht club. I would definitely book again when I visit. A little Gem.
The breakfast was fabulous. There was always coffee, French bread with cheese and butter, and fresh papaya, mangoes , watermelon , bananas and grapefruit. The location was perfect: the quiet northeast end of the island but only 5 miles from Fare.
The house is amazingly located, next to the beach and within 5min of all amenities/activities in Fare. It was very comfortable and clean, with a great view from our balcony. The hosts were also immensely helpful, on top of being so nice!
We just liked everything, the Host, the Loaction, very clean, very well equiped, very close to Fare, the Host did the car rental for us, picked us up at the Port and brought us back to the port without any charge
just try it yourself!
Tapuhere lodge is ideally located in the city of Fare, close to shops, food places and beaches. The host is extremely friendly, always available and eager to help. The room was spacious and clean. Highly recommended!
Bungalow Bali Hai was centrally located in Fare with easy access to town on foot. The accommodations were lovely and comfortable. The property was well managed and the owners were super helpful.
It was a great location, close walk to Fare township. Large and spacious. Comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen. Excellently shower. We were right on the beach. Bikes were available.
It’s location. Near beach and Fare town for food, bank, etc. Comfortable and attractive. The two cats.
Vaihere made my stay very enjoyable by showing me round the island. Great tour.
Spacious room, both AC and ceiling fan, very helpful staff, walking distance from the commercial area of Fare. Airport pick up and drop off. Easy car rental on site.
The fare was lovely and very centrally located. Bernard and Linda are very helpful! The fare has a very nice outdoor area for sitting. We will definitely be back!
Nice private bungalow close to beach and Fare town. Good bed, open air shower, good kitchen, veranda and bicycles to go into town. Very quiet, dark nights. Lovely!
