We couldn't sleep due to 95 degree temperature in unit.
We couldn't sleep due to 95 degree temperature in unit. We were too exhausted to do anything. Not easy to get around as taxis are booked up in advance. Unit is in gated community so taxis can't get in.

There is great snorkeling in this area! Go to Plage Vaiava.
There is great snorkeling in this area! Go to Plage Vaiava. It was the nicest beach on Tahiti with plenty of space. There is a snorkeling circuit to the left of the beach, DO IT! It was amazing! The other snorkeling there is also good but this area is amazing and no one was going to it! There are buoys and numbers so you know where to swim with information in French and English for you to learn about the area as well.

Quiet hillside neighbourhood - one can continue on the road up to a monastery which makes for a refreshing morning or evening walk. Just down the hill and across the road is a large Carrefour and shopping center with all one needs. There is a also a bus stop so technically one can arrive and leave by bus,

We had a great room at the Te Moana Resort overlooking the restaurant /lagoon.This Resort is situated in a central location in the Punaauia area and off the main road so is very quiet. There is an excellent supermarket, Magasin Orohiti, just across the road and transient nightime food trucks in the carparks near the supermarket .We used both these facilities which were very good. There are also permanent food trucks a few hundred metres down the coast road towards town. These are of a superior standard and their Pizza's are to die for ,due I guess, to the use of fresh local and imported French igredients (cheese, salami, tomatoes, dough etc).We ate at the Cafe Maeva...in a word superb. There is a local bar about 500 metres up the road from Te Moana going away from town, The Captain Bligh. Jean Pierre is the welcome man there and a really nice guy.A 1.50 litre pitcher of beer is 1900 Francs.Cheap.It's over the water and had live music in three languages.A great atmosphere .We also did a half day tour around the island with Fabrice of Eden Tours. He is an ex Airforce man and very well organised as one would expect .Highly recommended. We also got a ferry to Moorea for half a day and strolled between the Ferry terminal and the bay around the nearby Marina.Again very good food trucks just beyond the Marina and We had a Tuna bagette at the KEKAHI truck.Yummy!!! After getting back from Moorea we wandered downtown and stumbled across The Bora Bora Lounge. It was playing Country and Western style music and we wandered in for a beer which ended up a session with locals. We stumbled out and wandered down to the taxi rank and got a ride back to the the resort. We were there for 7 days which was ideal.

This is a beautiful area with a variety of stunning greenery, places to visit and lovely ocean views. The local people were friendly and helpful to us. We loved the waterfalls and the Water Garden park.
We had an amazing stay at the Villa Bounty, Estelle was super welcoming and accommodating. The outside area with the view on Moorea is breathtaking. All the beds were very comfortable. The internet is very fast and reliable. The villa is conveniently located in Punaauia and has everything needed for a comfortable stay: washer-dryer, dishwasher, spacious bathrooms, lots of kitchenware, barbecue, etc. We would love to come back if we’re ever in Tahiti again! Thank you Estelle for your hospitality :).
Great Hotel LayOver in Papeete...Awesome infinty pool and private Lagoon..My Plane landed at 8:30 pm by 9pm I was in my Room...10 minutes from Airport but away from the hustle of Papeete...Staff spoke great English...Super Helpful and Kind. Some I've heard complained Dinner Price etc...But the Sunset View of Moorea on the Terrance is Priceless! Was here in the "off season" Room Rates very Fair...I've paid more for a La Quinta outside Omaha's Airport....Of Note: Great Hotel for Kids!
The large sliding glass doors maximized the beautiful garden/sew view, and I felt I was outdoors even though I was in the room. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom lights were bright enough to fit contact lenses, and the newly renovated bathroom felt modern. The host guided me to the hike trails when I needed more activities after scuba diving. Stunning view! I picked up my meals from Bistro Chocolatin in Carrefour Punaauia.
Check in was a breeze - Teihotu picked us up at the airport! The property is clean and comfortable and the alarm clock (roosters!) are fully functional. It is located within a family compound so you experience the local way of life instead of the homogeneous hotel experience. There are plenty of restaurants, food trucks, grocery stores, etc within walking distance. Teihotu is very accommodating and available without being intrusive.
This hotel is set up in the mountains with beautiful views of the ocean. We loved the breakfast and really enjoyed the views. The decor is very tasteful and staff is super friendly and helpful. We found our room to be spacious and comfortable. This hotel is a great value and we really enjoyed our stay. We had a room with a private pool, balcony and stunning view of the ocean. Communication with the hotel was excellent.
The buildings and rooms themselves were nice enough, and the staff are very attentive albeit spread a little too thin. I believe there was only one woman attending to everyone's breakfasts (not just taking orders but preparing them too) which meant they were quite literally running around. Not a relaxed vibe but we understand it's a training hotel.
Gorgeous views at sunset and friendly, helpful staff who gave me tips on the best beach to visit and where to eat. The room was big, the AC worked well, and the kitchen was very nice and had everything I needed to cook meals when we didn't want to go out to eat. The pizza we ordered from the hotel was delicious.
Awesome Place with a lot of Space, a great great view and two lovely hosts we will gonna miss and call our friends. The best experience outside of hotels we ever Had!! When you are on Tahiti you should sleep and stay There. Our hosts even took us to a local music event what we never had experienced without Them
Clean hotel and rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful with our questions upon arrival in Tahiti. Tiki hotel was a nice value for our short 2 night stay when we arrived in French Polynesia before making our way to other islands. The park and beach down the hill were an added bonus.
They offered me an upgrade to a much larger room located in a quieter area of the hotel although it cost me an additional $40 per night. The upgraded room was fantastic although slightly dated and needed more outlets for charging electronic devices
Cute, quirky, unique hotel. The location was a short walk to a nice beach for snorkeling. Also conveniently located to a grocery store and nice restaurant. Bed was comfortable, A/C worked well, and hosts supplied us with beach towels.
It was perfect for the 2 of us. Conveniently located between the city center and the Punaauia beaches. The space was clean and quiet. Had everything we needed. Erwin was very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly.
Everything about this hotel was great. My room and the view - perfect. Bed - super comfortable. Staff - exceptional and super lovely. Pool, lagoon, bar and restaurant 👌
