The 2nd-largest city in Portugal's Algarve region after Faro, Portimão is best known for its beach resorts, sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and ochre cliffs. It offers a variety of shopping malls, restaurants, nightclubs and bars. Don’t miss the fresh grilled sardines, a typical local dish.
This city combines the sparkling atmosphere of a big city with a compact size and easy access to the countryside. Alvor has the feeling of a small fishing village, while Praia da Rocha beach is a lively center full of restaurants, cafés and nightlife.

As a golfer this is the perfect spot. Many many quality options with 20-30 minutes. I still think it's the best location when traveling with a family. The beach is awesome and the food choices are excellent. Great access to sea tours and water taxi to Ferragudo from the marina. There's so much to do. I would recommend renting a car so you can visit numerous surrounding towns.

Great location of the resort.
Great location of the resort. Too far from the malls and other destinations that we would've want to visit. We ate at the the restaurant at the resort and also in town. Also the restaurants on the beach.

There are few places directly from the city center where you can find yourself so close to the incredible power of nature. The combination of a big city and beautiful natural beaches. Amazing, quiet town with lots of small beaches. One of the most beautiful beaches for me ever. Easily accessible by train, bus, car, taxi, Uber, or boat. About 2 hours from Faro airport. by car. There is everywhere to roam. If you see everything in the city, you don't have to run far to other big cities, but just move to the suburbs, in the east or west by the ocean. You will also be charmed and surprised by their natural scenery.

It was pretty deserted in Februrary and the weather was too cold to get into the water. We had a major tropical storm with high winds and very high waves so the weather was against us. Luckly we did the boat tour to the caves and grottoes on the first day before the storm, but the rest of our stay was impacted.
I traveld with two Friends and we searched for a cheap stay. The hotel is in front of the police station, thus it is really save there. It is 2 min away from the beach and a lot of restaurants are near by.
Pros:
-Small hotel, get to know everyone
-Really nice staff, they helped us with every problem and supported everything we wanted to to/change
-good Wifi
-we hat to cancel our stay earlier because of Corona and they gave us back all the money of the remaining days, really nice and kind
Excellent location in Portimao, next to the beach, bars and restaurants as well as supermarkets. It has a tour train that goes round portimao to show you more of what it can offrr. It is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Lots of amazing restaurants on the door step such as the Adris and Murca (I think this was the name) as well as the Safari, all fab service and amazing food. Do have cash on you as connection to pay by card is not great in Portimão at peak times.
great location, walking distance to any restaurants, beach & attractions, but still away enough from the noise & busy spots. great service, professional staff.
**Portimão area is perfect for family vacation, you can find many beautiful beaches near by, (highly recommended to rent a car to explore other towns nearby) such a beautiful beach holiday
(we’ve been to over 38 countries & so far PORTUGAL is our favourite beach holiday in Europe) plus the Portuguese are kind!
The whole personel is the most positive point of this Hotel. They are always available, responding the guests with smile and patience and try their best to manage your requirements.
This is true for the reception as well as the resturant and bar, where you have always someone taking care of you with friendly and welcoming attitude.
Other positive point is the location, in front of a very nice beach with several restaurants and bars around the area.
Our stay at Bela Vista was a wonderful experience! From the moment, we walked in and until the moment we checked out, the service and attention to detail was top notch. Our room was spotless and the view was amazing. We relaxed by the pool and the hotel even had their own access to the beach. One of the highlights of our stay was dinner at their Vista restaurant. What an experience! We can’t wait to come back next summer!
A very spacious and lovely 1 bedroom apartment. Great views of the bay and town. Very clean and quiet. The owner is a lovely warm person, who made us feel very welcome. Great location. Near everything. Nice safe neighborhood. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Portimao. Very reasonably priced for the spaciousness. Decorated nicely. Will definitely be back!! Thank you for everything Isabel ❤️
It is very difficult for this hotel to find something good for me. He's not bad, but not good either. What exactly we did not like, I described in the second part of the review. Parking will be a plus. You can park in front of your building and room. Champagne is provided for breakfast. But breakfast could be more varied, but you can get enough.
Breakfast was perfect, fresh fruit in the morning and the best avocado I've ever eaten! Everything was so good and honestly the breakfast here was better than any other breakfast we've had in Portugal. This place is heaven on earth, surrounded by nature and cats! It's perfect to find rest after a long day in a busy city center or at the beach!
Good place to stay to see the south coast of Portugal. Comfy rooms, small parking by the building - available free, but only if there are free spots, so if you get to the hotel late it might be full, but there are lots of free parking spaces at the street behind the building. Close to the sea side. Lots of restaurants arround.
An amazing place to stay with so many outstanding touches. The decor and cleanliness were the best we’ve seen staying in Portugal. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The breakfast was amazing and worth the stay. Great location 300 ft from the beach. Parking onsite. We’d love to have this kind of hotel wherever we stay!
We initially got a room with a ocean view, but the AC was broken, so we were moved to a different room with a side view (put your head outside the balcony kind of thing). Not a particular issue tho, we were happy they could give us a working AC. The hotel was a few (steep) steps from the beach and the main touristic places.
We had a fantastic trip with Ryanair, a great apartment, clean, cosy, practical, close to the main beaches and attractions like shops, supermarket. Also we found close a great meat "all you can eat" restaurant from Brazil, Fogo Do Chão which was incrediable delicious and cheap. Our best vacations so far.
the staff at the hotel were expectional! They were outgoing to accommodate me as best as they could and were super friendly and helpful with getting around the city. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay whilst in portimao, Portugual.
Fantastic breakfast, eggs cooked freshly for you, huge selection of everything and constantly being topped up, hotel is set in a really peaceful location on the marina and buggy transport is available all day to bring you to the beach area
We had a fantastic stay at Aldeia de Portimão! The spacious terrace was a highlight, offering a perfect spot to relax. The king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable, and the cleanliness was top-notch. Highly recommended!
Very good value for money. In the best location for the beach and main resort.
We only had breakfast at the hotel which we found exceptionally good and plenty of choice.
The staff were always happy and friendly.
The hotel once was chic enough, but time passes.the apartment is spacey and when we couldn't turn the shower on, the staff member changed our apartment and immediately asked for a plumber to fix it
Very clean! Modern! Top service. Wine bottle on entrance. Best hospitality in portugal still and I’ve been there more than 10x .
Lovely place , lovely host 💯
