Lovely staff, who are very cheerful & helpful. They went above and beyond to make my daughter’s 6th birthday special. They even got her a cake & decorated the room with balloons.

The location is good, although it was quite hard to find. The location on Google Maps et al is to a larger hotel nearby. This place is tucked away down a side street. Clearer directions would be helpful.
The location is good, just a few seconds walk out to the water and easy access to shops, transport, etc.
The AC is very effective and cools the room right down. The bed was oddly comfortable despite first impressions, and I slept really well.

FAQs about hotels in Faro
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Faro this weekend is £101 or, for a 4-star hotel, £208. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Faro for this weekend cost on average around £263 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.
Occupied by Phoenicians and Carthaginians, and once an important Roman harbour and Moorish culture capital, it was almost flattened by the 1755 earthquake. Happily, the historic centre survived and is today one of best preserved in Algarve. Choosing a hotel in Faro’s Old Town will allow you to have a more authentic Portuguese experience.
The long, sandy beach of Praia de Faro is 7 km from the city, and the beach on Barreta Island –also known as Deserta - is probably the most tranquil in the region. Hotels near the beach in Faro and the surrounding towns of Olhão, Tavira, Quinta do Lago, Quarteira and Vilamoura, are all excellent ways to enjoy sunny Portugal.
Faro International Airport offers connections throughout Europe, and the city also offers ferry, railway, and bus links. Whether you need a beach resort or a hotel near Faro Airport, check out the wide offer available on Booking.com!
Beautiful sleepy little historical fishing town. Excellent for a quiet few days in the warm sun, wandering around its quaint narrow streets, enjoying shops, cafes and restaurants. Great beaches all nearby. Also less than half an hours' bus ride to the largest shopping centre/outlet village in the south of Portugal (Mar Shopping Centre), so there's something for everyone.

It's a lived-in, working city and doesn't pretend to put tourists at the forefront. However, tourists are well-catered for and I've spent a few happy days wandering the town on several occasions. Just wear sturdy shoes and have a little torch handy as the pavements/kerbs are no fun!

Lovely parts of this city near Marina, and while there seems to be lots of regeneration the city is quite run down in parts and a huge amount of graffiti. Lovely shopping streets and cafes, and a trip to both the Mar and Forum Algarve shopping centres a great way to spend a few hours. Nice restaurants in marina area and small parks. Well worth a visit but two days here is plenty.

Great for just strolling - some of the back streets are magical. People very friendly and very proud of their city. Take the ferry to Cacilhas and try one of the fish restaurants in the main village there. Go to tourist information and you may want to go further.
In Faro we ate at 8 Tapas, the Tavern, and Velha Casa - just what we wanted with delightful staff. Octopus at the Tavern with two crazy waiters was superb.

I am certain I must have reviewed Faro before, but I doubt I will ever tire of the place so I guess whatever I say about it will always be through those eyes... A city, full of hustle and bustle and yet you can always find somewhere to sit, watch life and reflect... Storks are nesting everywhere, you can almost touch the Trains as they rumble through alongside the river, you can see the Airport and the centrally placed bus station will take you here there and everywhere... It has a proper old bit, with walls and everything, including nesting storks and gorgeous architecture... It has functional bits, the commercial centre, it has a Marina, it has culture, it is a proper City full of real life... You may have guessed already I love it 'ALL'... Alan

Compact and historical. easy to walk round the cobbled streets. Lovely old buildings in the old town, museum and cathedral worth a visit. Some good bars/reataurants. We love the one on the marina (O Cortona) Good food and service, excelent location. Best thing is it is next to the Ria Formosa natural park so plenty of wildlife, bird spotting. Boat trip is a must.
We stayed in Faro for four nights, extending our stay two nights in this wonderful place. A refurbished old villa in the center of town offers the old-time charm of Portugal paired with modern amenities. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is a large kitchen area, a patio and a common area with a piano and a very coold 19th century safe. The proprietors however are the main reason this place rules: Pedro and Paolo are top notch people and very helpful in every way! We can only recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, Filipe was an excellent host and provided us with stellar assistance throughout the course of our stay! THANK YOU FILIPE!! The room was cheerful and comfortable and the open balcony style courtyard made the place extra spacious. We also enjoyed sharing a kitchen and having fridge space available, which made our 10 day stay in Faro more economical. Also the Albergio Formosa is very central to the old city, the ferry, the train and bus station.
The property looks very new. It’s a walking distance to everything. The room is very comfortable and has everything for a short or extended stay. The Wifi is the fastest in all the hotels I have stayed, which is very important for us who work remotely on the trip. We cooked and used the laundry. Communication with the owner was very easy and prompt. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who would stay in Faro.
We had a late arrival and keys left in key box with codes given to us - really easy process. It was in a perfect area for us - we could walk wherever we wanted. close to the waterfront, bus station, shops and great restaurants. We had breakfast at the Cinderela restaurant (which was included) which was really good!! We love Faro and would definitely stay at Casa Portugal on our return - host was amazing!!
The hostel is a 20-minute walk from the airport, and its planes are rarely heard. The hostel garden offers tables, chairs and a washing line, and is a good sun trap. 3 bus lines to the city lie 15 minutes away (cost 2E85). The suburb of Montenegro, 15 minutes away, offers cafes, pubs with food, a restaurant and a supermarket, - a slice of suburban Portugal, with low prices. It is pleasantly relaxed.
We came to Portugal for our honeymoon. Great location, welcoming and helpful staff.
comfortable beds. Compared to the 2 other hotels we have stayed at on this trip, this hotel was the best. Very delicious breakfast and atmosphere. We stayed at this hotel at the start of our trip, and we liked the hotel that much that we came back for our last night. The best value for money.
Loved the marsh land estuaries, the walks, farm animals and distance from town. I felt I could be in two kinds of Portugal on one trip. The smells and the vast sky scenery were a beautiful rural experience. I would recomend a car but being solo and fit I enjoyed the walk to the main road, getting the bus into Faro or getting a Bolt service. It was simply lovely and peaceful.
The front desk staff was exceptional. Helpful, knowledgeable, proficient in English, and courteous. The room was comfortable, clean, quiet, and well appointed. Having both a vending machine for food and drink, as well as a free espresso vending machine were added perks that added to a great hotel experience. I would highly recommend it anyone visiting Faro in the future.
Amazing hotel in the island. Staff especially Alex were fantastic, very helpful & knowledgeable.
Hotel is right on the beach so an amazing location.
Rooftop has a hot tub & bar.
The burger I had was incredible.
Great selection for breakfast.
Bus on the bridge takes you into faro or take the taxi boat
Our first taste of Portugal. The walk up the hill to the hostel was further than I expected but we made it with our heavy packs.
The staff were very helpful when I needed to ring the airport
The breakfast was pretty good & great to have
Everything!
Beautiful stylish hotel in the centre of Faro. 5 star luxury with exceptional attention to detail. Rooftop pool a great place to relax and chilled out music just adds to ambiance.
