Cascais is a small city located on the outskirts of Lisbon. Once a fishing village and defence outpost, the royalty transformed it into a stylish summer resort. King Luís II used the city as his summer residence from 1870 to 1908, attracting other celebrities, and changing the destiny of the tranquil village forever. I love Cascais!
I love Cascais! There are many things to do here and nearby locations too. Great restaurants, shopping, beautiful parks, nature walks, cafes, museums, outdoor markets and not far from Cascais are the palaces of Sintra and even a Moorish castle. There is a train station in Cascais with trains that go directly into Lisbon in about 25 minutes. Without hesitation i recommend a visit to this beautiful city. I think you will love it too!

Cascais is a beautiful area.
Cascais is a beautiful area. Easily one of the most prettiest places we have stayed in. A beautiful beach, shops, restaurants and an array of beautiful buildings. Easy to pop on the train to Lisbon which took 40 mins and worth the few euros it cost. We visited in Nov so the weather wasn't hot but we had a lovely warm breeze plus a few showers but you expect that at that time of year.
