During my recent visit to the Solomon Islands, I stayed at Access Units lodging and was thoroughly impressed. They took care of everything and provided a quiet retreat, perfect for unwinding. The staff went above and beyond when my flight was delayed, ensuring my comfort. Conveniently located near the airport and close enough to everything else, I highly recommend Access Units lodging for a seamless and enjoyable stay in the Solomon Islands.
It offers people a view of a primitive society. It is safe, and offers interesting historical and cultural views. The hotels vary and are clean and safe. Tours are available to see historic places from World War II that were active in the Solomon Islands. There are ways to enjoy the water snorkeling at a few places that are really beautiful. This is not a sandy beach, luxury island. Water ways are also used for disposing of garbage. The streets are covered with Beetle nut spit. You don't walk barefoot. Shanty's line the streets in out of town. Individual gardens are the source of food. But grocery stores are starting to import canned and dried goods. Their gardens provide most of the food. They are now building good new schools and encouraging the young people to be able to improve their lives with education.

Honiara is a dirty place and with very little to offer a tourist. There are a few dive sites, and world war attractions but it can all be covered in 1 to 2 days, so don't stay longer. Far better to start and finish in Honiara but plan your holiday on outlying Islands, by flying to Gizo, Munda or Isobel for some authentic village, snorkelling, wildlife, swimming... once your out of the main drag you get to see the real Solomon Islands and just how beautiful it is.

Honiara is a gateway to the wonderful islands of the Solomons, and is a typical pacific island town. Must sees are:
the local craft market but especially the Art gallery next door (not well sign posted).
The American and Japanese memorials make for interesting reading and viewpoints.
We ate Japanese at the Solomon Kitano Mendana Hotel- very good.
We visited the Lime Lounge cafe three times, the food was good, its a bit like a western cafe.
Be prepared for delays/cancellations of domestic flights- take it in your stride.

The people are very friendly
The main road into the city is frequently overloaded and Honiara badly needs alternative access to the town area.
The coastal areas could be developed a whole lot more to attract more tourists.
The politicians need to visit Fiji and Bali to understand the potential.

You don’t really go to see Honiara!
You don’t really go to see Honiara! It’s attractions are pretty limited, though the main produce market is great.
It’s a jumping off point to go diving, to visit the more remote islands, or to visit the relics of the battles of WW2.
The live aboard dive boat Bilikiki which is based in Honiara is great.

Honiara is a very ordinary town with little for the average tourist to do. Unfortunately traffic & litter dominate the landscape & there is little in the way of shopping, restaurants, museums or even beaches etc to visit. The Central Market was the only highlight for me. It’s a place for hard core travellers rather than a Sth Pacific paradise like Fiji or Tahiti.
Hotel is one of very few hotels at Honiara. So, it is not luxury hotel, but considering that there is no many options to stay in Honiara, that hotel is very good. It is maybe a bit more expensive concerning the room shape, but as said - not many places to choose... It is safe, cable car ride from reception to the hotel levels is very unique, and hotel have options for meals... Again, Honiara is not developed in touristic terms, so not many restaurants around to choose, better to eat in the hotel... Hotel to stay for few nights.
Very spacious and on-ground apartment so my 1 year old child is safe to play around. Very family friendly location.
My first time to be in Honiara and I was scared because I arrived at 8pm. But was at Peace when I saw Joe waiting at the arrivals. Very friendly couple ( Joe & Salome) and friendly staffs. I will stay there on my next travel and will recommend to my friends if they travel to Honiara
I liked the layout and design. The hotel consists of buildings on the side of a hill connected by a maze of stairways and paths and has cable cars instead of elevators! It has a swimming pool that drains into a fountain. The lobby has local carved statues. Also my room was very large and clean with a nice view.
- Hotel was clean overall, except for the rat that ran from the kitchen into the dining area. Even the woman taking my order jumped.
- Good location within walking distance of the central market, but tucked away from the main street
- Good restaurant on site
The price and the receptionists are very friendly. The location is perfect close to everything. The aircon works perfect for the hot weather. Clean towels. The breakfast is good and probably the best breakfast out of the other places we tried in Honiara
The best place that I could find in Honiara! Really clean, comfortable, WIFI FAST!!!! And the best is the people there! Totally friendly, Doti is really good and lovely with guests, I could fell like a real good energy there! I’ll be my options ever!!
Very friendly staff. Well equiped room's which were cleaned properly on a daily basis. Good air-conditioning and hot water shower. When compared to other accommodation options in Honiara, this hotel would be one of the best hotels. Food was good.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Close to one of the best cafes in Honiara. Was given a small discount due to the issues outlined below. Good service to and from airport. Laundry done well.
People friendly, loved that there was more than one pool, and the buffet was excellent. Enjoyed the architecture and the decorative sculptures around the hotel. Little piece of paradise, and loved the chocolate shop.
The owner was very kind. She picked me up from the airport, took me to the money exchange place, and gave me lots of other information like how to use Topup(internet of smart phone). It was very helpful.
The service was exceptional. They did everything for us to make our stay great. I have never got this good reply on Booking like from these nice people. I wish them all the best with their business.
I never had breakfast and although the hotel was situated on a hillside the view from the balcony i was at was blocked off by the roof of the next building.
The staffs were friendly and room was beautifully set up. Loved the food and location was superb. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.
